  1. Don't want to get off topic, but if we use that logic and find an example on Earth it would mean a security van, weed minivan and those armored cash transport cars that banks use would all be considered tanks. Speeders are basically a mix of ATV and a motorcycle with really minimal armor and light weapons. You could make a very valid argument for walkers though.
  2. Not sure if you are serious or trolling.
  3. Peridea- Set has too many stickers and the build is so bland. Not having Enoch is absolutely insane and it's gonna be even worse if they decide to put him in a battle pack. Stormtrooper is still ugly family guy version and night trooper additions (when it comes to print on him) are really minimal and very poor. I already have Thrawn and this version isn't anything special that makes me want to get him as well. Huge pass even on a 50% sale as I don't want to support anything with this stromtrooper style in it. I do think there is a battle pack coming with night troopers. Desert Skiff- Love the Desert Skiff build and the gate that opens, love some of the pieces and build styles they used. Wish it was sold by itself without the pit. Why they went with ESB Boba instead of ROTJ one is beyond me, no pauldron/cape as well... Don't like the Sarlacc Pit or the inclusion of it, it's overly built. Price is way too high especially cause I feel some fans will want 2 Desert Skiffs. Don't like Luke's hair. Pass from me. IMO this is one of the worst years for LEGO Star Wars with predominantly gimmicky sets like brickbuilt characters, prices are too high, battle packs are all mixed factions which helps no one. Only thing saving it are The Mandalorian sets.
  4. Somewhere in the first or second episode where the Jedi are testing the twins, there was a ship and someone was fixing a speeder. The first thing that popped into my mind was how LEGO designers are probably thrilled about this cause they can make another giant oversized speeder. They can create a set similar to the Bad Batch shuttle set, with a ship, speeder and give us some of the important characters. I suppose the show will probably get the Andor, TBOBF and Kenobi treatment with only 2 sets.
  5. The issue is that even if I wanted to build Nite Owls and Mandalorian warriors together, I would still end up with 20 figures and 10 builds that have no use for every 10 sets I get. Even a clone trooper command station has better value. It's not even worth buying these figures separately because these sets go on sale for $12-$15 in December, meaning I would break even and have to deal with the hassle of shipping. At the same time, there is a 332nd battle pack with 3 figures and an accurate vehicle for $20 as comparison or both superior older Mandalorian battle packs where figures are all the same or they all belong to the same covert. I really hate these droideka vs clones type of battle packs with mixed factions.
  6. I agree with 99.9% of the things you said, but I have to politely disagree with your comment about the Mandalorian battle pack. It's a great set, but a horrible battle pack. If you want to get one, it's amazing. If you want to get > 5 to set up a scene, build a MOC, or add builds to your bunker set, then it's again amazing, especially if you catch them all on sale. However, if you are going to army build with them, it's an absolute nightmare. Not only are you stuck with the other figures, but you also end up with a ton of builds that are useless unless you enjoy building MOCs or selling LEGO.
  7. I wouldn't try to make logical assumptions or try to make sense of it because most of the leaks we got for this year were completely wrong. The Koska Reeves leak in the battle pack made me more excited than any of the other sets or figures, followed by the Panaka minifigure, and both of them turned out to be false leaks. Leakers and YouTubers kept talking about a creature with multiple eyes that wasn't recognizable, and that set ended up being some custom droid-building kit or whatever. The Death Star playset, which was supposed to accompany Yavin 4 set from the last year, ended up being a Star Destroyer. That's just on top of my head.
  8. I don't think LEGO was forced to do anything. All the picks are really bad apart from Malak, not just Leia. (And even he is kinda niche) Let's not forget they said they only picked characters they didn't intend to ever make in minifigure form. I know a lot of OT fans are happy with Nien, but he could and should have been included in any Millennium Falcon or X-Wing set, old or upcoming. Fives could be included in any TCW set. We already have two wasted figure spots. Saw is even worse. Even if LEGO doesn't want to do Andor sets, why not just make a Rogue One set and include him? That's a really popular movie they haven't touched for 6 years. They could make an updated AT-ST walker or Imperial Assault tank, and give people Saw, a vehicle driver, and a death trooper. This is just judging the picking aspect, I am not even talking about how low quality these figures are. It doesn't even have to be a list of niche comic characters; we don't even have figures for Shmi Skywalker, Yaddle, L3-37, Mother Talzin, Jocasta Nu, or Seventh Sister.
  9. Not sure if this counts, but we had Anakin's interceptor vs. vulture droid in the set 7256 back in 2005. In the same year, we also had Anakin's and Obi-Wan's interceptor in the ultimate space battle set 7283. In 2007, we got another Obi-Wan's interceptor, but in blue (set 7661). In 2012, we got Anakin's interceptor, but in green (set 9494). Then in 2014, Anakin's interceptor came in the set 75038, just to be updated in 2020 with 75281. In the meantime, we got another Obi-Wan's interceptor in 2016 (set 75135).
  10. I think you have a good point when it comes to 2021, as LEGO wanted people to fill in their UCS AT-AT, but I don't think the 212th AT-TE had anything to do with the 501st battle pack. If it were connected, LEGO would give us a 212th battle pack instead of a Battlefront battle pack. In the 2024 battle pack, there was only a Coruscant guard figure inside because the designer said he wanted to make that figure more available, not because it was connected in any way or someone told him to put it inside.
  11. They usually change the helmet every 4-7 years. In 2014, they introduced the family guy version in the Star Destroyer. That's why I hoped they would introduce a better version now. What sucks is that, because of covid, people not buying the sets with these new stormtroopers couldn't really be felt by LEGO financially. This is because we got an influx of new collectors, investors, and hipsters that just filled the void people boycotting the sets left, so LEGO didn't really have an incentive to change it. Wouldn't be the craziest thing to expect a new improved helmet alongside a battle pack in the next 2 years. Version 1: 2001-2005 4 years Version 2: 2006-2013 7 years Version 3: 2014-2019 5 years The previous version was 61 studs long, while this one is 55, making it 6 studs shorter in length, therefore smaller. This difference translates to 4.8 cm, or 1.89 inches. Which is significant. The bridge remained the same, making the proportions off and leaving the model looking chubby/stubby. Interior is also much better in the older version. They also used a part of the budget last time to make a holographic Palpatine so I would take that plus a mouse droid build (that counts as a minifigure on bricklink for some reason) over the Imperial Gunner. 2006 version also had more figures, was bigger and cost only $100 which is $154 with inflation now.
  12. I was commenting without knowing the set was released till I saw Ash posted the video. Incredibly disappointed with the set. LEGO leakers completely ruined this entire year for me. Got my hopes up with Panaka and then Koska and then a Death Star playset with 10 million minifigures and now we got some ugly Star Destroyer that costs more than the last one, but is way smaller with family guy stormtrooper, Cal without poncho and BD-1, 3 other worthless figures and Praji who is cool, but not paying $160 to get him.
  13. This was reported to Vader by Commander Nahdonnis Praji, which would be a nice Imperial figure to get. It could also mean the second officer would be Dane Jir. With Vader and Tarkin, that would make four pretty good figures. It would also be crazy if you could display the Star Destroyer playset with a Midi-Scale Tantive IV and have it be in scale (kind of), and then have the option of connecting the Tantive IV playset with the Star Destroyer playset. Maybe all those connections on that set weren't just there to connect two or more of the same set; maybe it was supposed to be connected with something more. Maybe there is also a reason top of the tantive IV playset has some studs on top.
  14. Honestly if it's a playset of the interior I would very much like that. I just want as many officers as possible and Tarkin. I would be happy with both generic ones and named ones like Piett. Give me a little officer room with a desk they all sit around and I am happy. Also how is no one talking about the Fortnite trailer? Are these named characters at 1:21? I don't know much about OT. There are also some Imperials and a Star Destroyer. Again I am not too knowledgable when it comes to OT.
  15. Gonna change some of my points when it comes to the sets now that I've seen more images. Rex Microfighter: Still amazing, a must-buy for me. It's very weird that they raised the price to $13 because just last year they were $10. I don't mind paying $3 extra for a pauldron, but they keep raising the bar for children to get into this theme, which is sad. Very happy I can finally pick up Rex. Good job LEGO. Luke's Mech: The box is really pretty, especially the back art. The idea of it being an X-wing is cool, and the build looks beautiful from the front and back. I'm not getting it because I am not the biggest OT fan, but it's a great mech overall, with great execution. Mandalorian Battlepack: Quite shocked and disappointed Koska isn't there as I love her character and she was constantly mentioned with the set. Yeah, named characters are bad in a battle pack, but you can just put her helmet on and have a female Mandalorian. Mandalorian warriors look amazing. I love that you can connect the build with the bunker set. The build is okay; I would rather have another Mandalorian speeder, but I am okay with this. You can pretty much build an entire base if you buy multiple. Imperial Mandalorians are okay, I guess, not the biggest fan of versus battle packs and would rather have four Mandalorian warriors. I'm gonna buy a few right away and wait for a sale to go crazy on them. Don't think I will go over 40 battle packs, but we will see. Advent Calendar: Not a fan, the minikit is cool though. Just need a Praetorian guard out of it. Bunker Set: The build is much better than I expected. Moff looks really cool, but way less menacing without the cape, no arm printing as well. Praetorians look ugly, unimpressive, and dumb. Looks like they have a bucket and not a helmet, no rope/skirt cloth piece or anything, even their weapons look weak. Paz Vizsla has updated printing so I need it. The price is too much considering there are stickers, figures are poorly done, you have to get another figure or an advent calendar and a black cape for Gideon. Will buy it, but not very happy with it. Dissapointed about Death Star being a Star Destroyer as I really wanted a Death Star playset.
  16. Stayed up till 2 am to hear the US LEGO Star Wars live stream and it was some prerecorded nonsense where a guy in charge was lying about what chat is saying and asking about. Nothing was revealed.
  17. His clue is either Tarkin or Pershing. We see Pershing entering the decomissioned Star Destroyer on Coruscant with Elia Kane. Or It could be Tarkin's Star Destroyer.
  18. I am pretty sure it's in 4 hours and 36 minutes https://www.lego.com/en-us/live/may-fourth?icmp=LP-SBT-Standard-SW_Sticky_B_MT4_Campaign_Reveal_Phase_Livestream_Event-OC-SW-KCCOW8Y32F
  19. It's really hard to see details and helmets, but for now: Rex Microfighter- Must buy for me, really happy I waited and didn't spend $100 or more on one on bricklink. Pauldron is an extra bonus. Build looks nice. So glad LEGO made this set and I know so many fans waited for years for this. Luke's Mech- Not for me, build is nice and I like mechs, but I have no interest in any of the OT mechs they released except Boba that I already bought. Mandalorian battle pack- Blue Mandos look perfect, build is okay. Need better picture of the Imperial Mandalorians as I am very specific with my helmets and it's very hard to see. Wish they also had a jetpack, but I realize this is more accurate. Wondering how Koska looks and are we going to get a hair for her and how her face print is... Aiming to get 9 BP and then decide if I am going for more or am I going to just bricklink a certain minifigure. Bunker set- Again really hard to see, but the build looks nice. I wonder if you can raise the doors. Already have Paz so not that interested in him,but his weapon looks really cool though. Wish Moff Giddeon had a cape, really hard to see his helmet to comment on it properly. Praetorians are the weakest part of the set. I can't see their helmets, but they just lack this presence they had in the show, no shoulder accessory, no cloth robe piece and their weapons are really weak, also where is the third one? Need more information to judge it properly.
  20. The massive amount of people on Youtube and Instagram, with thousands of different voices in the comments, guarantee a much broader spectrum of opinions, including those that might challenge our own. I just ordered an AT-TE on bricklink and watched a Jang review on it purely out of excitement for the set (I can't be the only one doing this), and then got recommended 6 different reviews and each of them was completely different so even though there is an algorithm I got 7 different views on the same thing. I am all for criticism when it's warranted, but blaming Ryan for everything just isn't fair. His fans are labeled as lackeys and goons, even mindless parrots repeating his opinion when this is not the case. I will give you a fairly recent example. When discussing the GWP, thousands of fans across Instagram, Discord, Reddit, and Youtube expressed their dissatisfaction with the choice LEGO made and Ryan had a different stance on it. On almost every video discussing the GWP, the top comment with hundreds to thousands of upvotes argues that it should have been a set. This and my interactions with other fans indicate that this sentiment is widespread in the community. Just from this alone it's clear that Ryan's fans are not blindly following his opinions, but rather expressing their own thoughts and preferences even if it means going against him. On the other hand a lot of you agreed with him which must mean all your names are Bob cause that's a very Joker goon thing to do.
  21. I hope it's evident to you that this little corner of the forum represents a truly unique perspective that doesn't align with the majority of LEGO Star Wars fans. Most of the people here are seasoned fans, making up an incredibly small minority with their opinions. I understand the frustration of encountering dominant opinions that don't reflect your own, but constantly attacking MandR, who is also a part of this forum, is not behavior one would expect from those aiming to portray themselves as holding a higher moral standpoint. While the origin story of R2-KT is undeniably touching and meaningful so LEGO making her figure is a honorable gesture you have to understand not all fans are going to care or prioritize that character or sentiment, especially majority of younger fans. A lot of people and fans are going to have a preference towards other figures with more prominent roles in the series that they have a connection with and see the move as virtue signaling by LEGO who had countless chances to use the character to raise money for charities over the years like other companies, but failed to do so. I would personally prefer over 500 characters over it, but I am only sharing positivity about it in case it's for charity. LEGO Star Wars youtube is a joke, but Solid Brix is far from a beacon of hope as he just shills for the multi billion dollar company to get free sets from them. Only after multiple backlashes and fans calling him out, he started to speak up his mind. This forum might feel better to you than youtube because it's often like an echo chamber, where the same opinions repeats, such as: "Jang good, MandR bad, Andor good." For the context I don't mind helmet holes, I am not asking for any clones, I don't want Jedi Bob and I have such a dislike towards Lifebricks that it would probably get me banned if I spoke my mind about his lack of personality and toxic tendencies. Also youtubers can't army build which makes it insane for calling out LEGO on any kind of accuracy as they can't hold themselves to the same standards.
  22. If you visit the LEGO official site in your country and click on any of the new sets, you will see information written above the price and marked with yellow. If it says "new" and "exclusive", it means it's only available in the LEGO store, like "The Force of Creativity" book. However, if you check sets like Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator, it will only say "new", which tells you that you can purchase it in any store that sells LEGO in your country. You can also filter it by "exclusives" when you are in the Star Wars section.
  23. Great Hall looks fine, but in my opinion, the 2018 version is superior. Molded Troll looks incredible. I still haven't decided if I am going for the Hogwarts build or not, so I will wait for some reviews. Aragog looks amazing; it's a must-buy set. Mandrake and Buckbeak pass, as I hate sets of that type with a passion.
  24. Btas Batman is one of the most beautiful figures released this year, wish we got Robin and Two-Face though. People are saying the Batmobile will cost $60 which is beyond insane to me as I already thought the $48 one from last year was really pushing it. Love the mech, but wish the Batman's figure was different, even just this one repainted. Really hoping we get Batman Forever sets in the future.
  25. So, the quote/riddle is used to describe a character named Winston, played by the same actor who portrayed Tarkin. If MandalorianKnight is correct (probably is) and Renown only provides hints that would point to things we don't already have, the only thing that would make sense is a younger version of Tarkin. On another note, an entire episode of The Mandalorian feels like a direct adaptation of 1984, where we can with certainty say Winston is Dr. Pershing. So, it's either Pershing or young Tarkin or maybe a two for one where we are getting older Tarkin in the Death Star and Pershing somewhere else. We also have to keep in mind that I might have delved too deep and uncovered something Renown wasn't even aware of, which would imply we are getting Dr. Pershing.
