Looks great! Looks like it can be a real set, the interior details are great and I like we're Donatello drives the ship. Great job!

Im torn between the Star wars imperial shuttle and getting both the maersk train set and Diagon alley. Which is almost the same price, what is a better buy? Whats more collectable and whats a better build? Thanks
-
Okay so I have saved eneough money to blow on a new set. Which set do you recommend for the best eol(end of life) value. Mind you I own atleast 2 of each of the following. Maersk train set, any of the current modulars, tower bridge, ucs r2-d2, helms deep, haunted house, vw van, sopwith camel, unimog, 4x4 crawler, the shuttle expedition, and or anything I missed that you might recommend? I love them all but am considering the maersk cause I have not built it yet. I do have the emerald night which does prevent me from wanting to build the maersk but if its not gonna be worth as much as something else I can hold off.

Hmm very tough one for me. If you own any of the other modulars, I say get town hall. Otherwise get the amazing haunted house. honestly though you need to get both. They will both be legends 5 years from now

Can LEGO be damaged by heat/cold extremes?
brick god replied to Hyun's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Depending on the piece in the loose pieces bag, some were effected as well. There is no turning back now I am almost finished rebuilding it. Though I have read somewhere where someone had a similar incident and ended up just gluing all the pieces together. I cant do that, the pieces deserve proper burial:( Oh well you live and you learn.- 77 replies

Can LEGO be damaged by heat/cold extremes?
brick god replied to Hyun's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So I went camping this weekend and left a moc in progress in my car. The temperature outdoors was over 100 degrees so it had to be almost double that in the car. The moc was in a sealed plastic box and the pieces in zip lock bags. When I got home to work on it, the moc basically crumbled in my hands. Im not talking about into dust, but the pieces hardly connect, lost its clutch power. Its so weird and unfortunate. I dont like to glue pieces so now im rebuilding the moc with brand new pieces. Has this ever happened to anyone? Is there a remedy I can use to recover the clutch power lost? Thanks ahead!- 77 replies

The Unofficial LEGO Collectors Guide RAFFLE
brick god replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know its a popular choice here but I too would take the 10179 UCS Millenium Falcon. How could you not! It looks to be an amazing build, it looks amazing and is highly collectable. -
hey I was curious to what would be a better buy/build/value between "the tower bridge" or two smaller sets, "the royal joust" and "the medieval marketplace"? Thanks ahead

Living in Cali playing Music, building Lego, watching Lakers Basketball, and enjoying family time.

Can the building be a copy of a real building, kinda like the architecture series but in modular or minimodular form?
-
Help, Im stuck between the Royal joust, Shuttle Expedition, or the VW camper van. Mind you I own all three already and have built two, I just want doubles for collectors value and or parts.

Architecture Contest: The Getty Center
brick god replied to unbornchikken's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think it is so cool that you chose the getty. I live like 15 minutes away from it and take my family there all the time, and we always have a blast! It is a rather complex building and I think you did a good job! -
Architecture Contest: Sifang Art Museum
brick god replied to brick god's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks Artizan, To get the model to curve counter - clockwise down was a tough task... for myself at least. I experimented with all types of techniques, at one point I was using a ton of technic pieces to get the job done. As the building got longer I had to change my approach. Eventually doing without any technic for a more favorable, simple, and more effective solution (Ill show in pics after the contest is over) -
One of my favorite entries. Its amazing how much detail you were able to include at such a small scale. Id buy it! Good luck in the contest!

Great contest guys! Lots of inspiration to be had with all of your great models. Here is my first MOC I have ever posted and hope to do many more. Entry Name: The Sifang Art Museum Category: Architech Series Location: Nanjing, China Project Area: 30,000 sqf Project year: 2003-2012 Architect: Steven Holl 'In truth, Holl's strength lies in his ability to create buildings that are both radical and understandable, ethereal yet still monumental. His levitating tubes and light-flooded interiors may feel transcendent, but they maintain a well-grounded sense of architectural space'. -Aric Chen, Spoon, December, 2005 The Nanjing Sifang Art Museum is sited at the gateway to the Contemporary International Practical Exhibition of Architecture in the lush green landscape of the Pearl Spring near Nanjing, China. The museum explores the shifting viewpoints, layers of space, expanses of mist and water, which characterize the deep alternating spatial mysteries of the composition of Chinese painting. The museum is formed by a “field” of Parallel perspective spaces and garden walls in black bamboo-formed concrete over which a light “figure” hovers. The straight passages on the ground level gradually turn into the winding passage of the figure above. The upper gallery, suspended high in the air, unwraps in a clockwise turning sequence and culminates at “in- position” viewing of the city on Nanjing in the distance. This visual axis creates a linkage back to the great Ming Dynasty capital city, Nanjing. This was a fun project to work on. I worked on it for about 2 hours a night for about 2 weeks. I love building Official sets but there is nothing as fun and rewarding as building your own models. I hope you enjoyed my rendition of the Sifang Art Museum:) For more pics and info on the Sifang Art Museum here is the official link.Sifang Art Museum When I posted this entry it was 11pm, April 7, 2012. I live in Los Angeles, CA and I completely forgot about the time zone differences. Please accept my entry. Next time will not make the same mistake.

haha it was, pieces gettin stuck in it and such. It actually had its uses to, like when I would missplace the little 1x1 plates by a stud or 2.

So I went with the death star :) My next purchase will either be the imperial shuttle, tower bridge, the royal joust and earth defense set, or the vw van and shuttle expedition. Being playable, or a collectors item doesnt matter. Which tobuy? Thanks
-
Here are my first two bag builds. Took me about 2-3hrs each mini modular to complete. With experience it has been becoming a lot easier.
-
So I ended up getting the death star with 120.00 to spare:) I really want to build it, but I really want to collect it as well. Maybe my son can help me decide what to do with it. Now with about 120.00. I am inbetween a few; the joust set because of the good reviews, the technic super car, my 3rd vw camper (Collecting reasons), shuttle expedition, a second mmv, or save it for the ucs R2-D2.
-
Which set today has the best collectors value. I wanna buy either, the Death Star, Tower bridge, or Three Vw camper vans. Any other suggestions? Which of the three should I get? Thanks
-
How do I register? Sorry , Im still new here.
