  1. It's mostly wishful thinking, but the logic behind the New Goblin guess is that its possible New Goblin was designed and considered for the Spider-man 3 set before the final budget was worked out and the figure moved over to the book release.
  2. I love the X-Men, but even back then the X-Men brand wasn't as strong as we remember it to be. Universal Studios built an entire theme park land dedicated to Marvel in 1999. There were attractions based on the Hulk, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four, but no X-Men (They later added a small spinner ride featuring Storm from the X-Men to address criticism that they weren't enough rides without height restrictions).
  3. This one seems inevitable after all the new pieces and building techniques the F1 partnership has brought us.
  4. Saber-toothed Tiger and Woolly Mammoth would give us the full Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers line up! (We already have the T-Rex, Pterodactyl, and a Triceratops)
  5. I don't think we'll get a dedicated line of space sets. But maybe we'll get something like "City Space explores an Ice Planet". A spiritual successor to a previous theme, but without the neon 80s/90s aesthetic. 🤷‍♂️
  6. Thank you, that's very kind. The goal is to put things up on Rebrickable sometime this year. You could be a great MOC builder, just takes some practice! Start with small builds. Make small updates to existing sets. The big MOCs can get very complicated, very quickly, which can be discouraging. So start small!
  7. Once I'm satisfied with how they look in Bricklink Studio I'll order the pieces and build them in real life. Then post the results on here. I still have remakes of 6852: Sonar Security and 6897: Rebel Hunter to build. I'm not going to bother with the largest two sets in the series. After this I'll work on M-Tron, Ice Planet, and Spyrius remakes.
  8. Here's a Space Police 2 remake that I've been messing around with, that uses some technics and parts from the 2024 City Space Sets.
  9. You could create a Space Police jail out of Modular Space Station (60433). Each pod would be a jail cell. Shouldn't be too difficult to replace those colours.
  10. I think you're right, the '24 sets take place outside of the solar system. So I made some edits to the timeline. Current TimelineCITY Space 2019 -> Building rockets to get to spaceCITY Space 2022 -> Reaching the moon and discovering crystalsCITY Space 2024 -> Using the crystals as an energy source to reach a planet just outside of our solar system. Discovering aliens and botanical+ crystal energy CITY Space 20?? -> The botanical+crystal energy source allow for travel even further outside of our solar system, to an Ice Planet
  11. Current Timeline CITY Space 2019 -> Building rockets to get to space CITY Space 2022 -> Reaching the moon and discovering crystals CITY Space 2024 -> Using the crystals as an energy source to reach a planet within our solar system. Discovering aliens and botanical energy Rough ideas for the future of City Space CITY Space 20?? -> Building a monorail to transport crystals (Futuron homage??) CITY Space 20?? -> Using the botanical+crystal energy source to travel to a planet beyond our solar system? (Ice Planet homage??) CITY Space 20?? -> Mining for crystals in Space? (Power Miners/ Rock Raiders homage??) CITY Space 20?? -> Constructing a permanent space base? (M-Tron homage??) CITY Space 20?? -> Space Police 4?? CITY Space 20?? -> Discovering hostile aliens?? CITY Space 20?? -> There's a rouge AI/ robots become hostile. (Spyrius homage??)
  12. The E-Sports Gamer's is wearing a shirt with what looks to be a modern version of the Black Falcons logo. I might pick that one up and make a Black Falcons Space figure with it.
  13. Stars Wars is definitely sticking around. But the volume of sets has decreased in recent years. This data doesn't take into account sales, budgets, percentage of revenue. So we don't have an accurate understanding of consumer demand, but if we use number of sets produced as our indicator, we can see a trend emerge. From 2015 to 2020 LEGO was producing ~60 sets, but in the past three years (2021 - 2023) that number has been reduced to ~40 sets. It's possible for Star Wars to reverse the trend, but it's not likely to happen until there is a new and popular movie or TV show. The presumption here is that the lack of Star Wars sets creates an opening for other Space sets. Here's a chart showing number of Star Wars sets produced.
  14. Last year, LEGO combined Deep Sea and Arctic sets into a new subtheme, "Exploration". It's possible that they've done something similar with the Jungle sets and now we have a new theme (Conservation?) that encompasses multiple biomes (outback, savannah, jungle, etc).
  15. This is a great idea. It's difficult to recreate most of the faction-era 80s / 90s space sets using today's pieces and colors. Space police I and II are some of the easier themes to recreate because the colors are still in production. Referencing the villain factions (Blacktron II, Spyrius, UFO, and Insectoids) works really well for an anniversary set.
