  1. I was going to buy the sets anyway since I did like what they are trying to do (yes I even liked the exteriors, not so much as the normal waves, but still liked it). I love how they included the slide/pipe for the CoS, I now hope the basin from the bathroom set is removable to drop someone directly on the slide and not having to remove the exterior rockpiece. I'm also happy they managed to include the flipping table from the prototype of the original 2018 Great Hall set. It does look like you just need to press on the back end of the table to make it flip and not spin technic wheel or something. It's clear they went with playability with these Hogwarts sets, they made the roofs easily removable, which is unnecessary to most people, but might be good for kids when playing with it. I do have a small nitpick with the Hogsmeade set. I had hoped they would use 3 actual brooms to make the 'Three Broomsticks' sign. They used a stickered piece which makes it a bit less charming, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker.
  2. Huh, so it really is just a chess set. I thought they might add some structure to attach it or something. I mean, I'm not complaining, they'd probably have to raise the price or make it an incomplete chess set. It's not clear in the image, but I wonder if the tiles are just black and white or if they will use the dark blue as shown in the films. The hopeful one in me also hopes for stickers/prints representing the cracks and texture of the board, but this is probably a pipedream.
  3. Oh no, nothing is definitive until Lego officially confirms it. I do think if they weren't going to tease it like this (every figure with a background from the scene their set is based on) they would've just put each of them on the same background. At least something more aesthetically pleasing.
  4. For those who still aren't sure. In the background of this image (between the two sides of chess pieces) you can see the columns that are behind the Golden Snape minifig. We can safely assume that he'll come with the chess set.
  5. Getting the reveal of the anniversary figures makes me think we'll get official set pictures any day now. Maybe not this week but soon. I already assumed the wave after june would be August or September, so no dissapointment on that front.
  6. I could see it as a part of the lectern, I'm curious whether or not it would look good though, the owl piece could be a bit too bulky imo.
  7. If the Card rumour is true, I hope it's not going to be random and it's a specific set of cards (or one card only) per set. A bit like the old Pirates of the Caribbean posters back in the day. Maybe the card can be about one of the characters in the set or something.
  8. I'm curious if it's an entirely new head or if there's a normal minifig head underneath. If not I'm curious if there's going to be a Hermione head and hairpiece included or not.
  9. I doubt it, but I'm curious whether or not the Golden figs will have tiny display stands like the Star Wars ones. I hope so, but I won't be upset if they don't.
  10. It's quite low quality, my apologies for that, but the clasp seems to be accurate. Also, due to the lighting and colour correction (the greyish tone in this case) + how it's filtered through the cloak could mean that it looks different to us. The LEGO designers probably had access to (images of) the original costume. Perhaps they had concept art or tests that didn't make it to the final film, we don't know. It's not the first time they took creative license, I don't mind honestly. It looks like a great alternate outfit to what we have already.
  11. With the amount of photo leaks in the last couple of weeks/days I can only expect an official reveal in the coming weeks. I always feel the official pictures follow shortly after some of the more significant leaks. Fingers crossed. I'm still excited for these sets.
  12. I'm really confused about the Chess set. They claim it's an expansion for the Hogwarts that's releasing soon. But with that price tag I'd expect it to be just a separate display piece. If it's an expansion that's way to steep a price. kids collecting the sets won't be able to buy that and it's too expensive if it's going to be in the style of the play sets. For that price I'd like detail. I'm thinking the price might be for another set. If not I'm curious about what it's going to look like. The Cornish Pixie looks great though.
  13. Probably to represent the glint of the gold.
  14. I don't know how LEGO is run internally, but I guess every theme has it's own head (and team of course) that decides what to do with it that year. They probably also decide how to celebrate an anniversary. No idea if they get a bigger budget or not, but it could be that the Harry Potter team decided to solely focus on anniversary sets this year and give the same amount of attention (and money) to the DH sets next year as they did with the previous 3 wave.
  15. It's from CoG to be more specific. That's supposed to be McGonagall in front. (Which is wrong, but let's not get started on that one)
  16. I guess all this year's sets are going to be anniversary themed. I assume they'll do DH next year. I really doubt LEGO would skip DH, it's definitely not too dark for them, they made sets of dark things before (graveyard for example). I mean, I doubt they'll give us minifigs with alternate faces to represent their deaths, but there's more than enough to make a decent wave out of.
  17. I love the soundtracks for all the HP movies (yes, even Desplat's). I often feel Nicholas Hooper doesn't get enough credit for his additions. Umbridge's Theme, Fireworks and Flight of the Order of the Phoenix are some of my favourites. They even reused his 'Dumbledore's Farewell' during the Snape memories scenes in DH p.2 and it's so good.
  18. I think the sets look quite good, but indeed of a lower quality than previously. These sets feel aimed at a younger audience, with more focus on play than display. I hope the interiors are detailed, that might help me forgive the more lacklustre exteriors. I also doubt we'll get a decent Slytherin statue, It'll probably be a sticker and not brick-built.
  19. I'm curious if they're going to use the classic tower roof pieces for the anniversary Great Hall set (if a tower is included of course). It would be fitting with the sand green and as it was used quite often in the old HP waves.
  20. It could be that the Torso isn't the one for this figure, I remember it happening before where the leaked figure used a torso from a different figure.
  21. This reminds me that LEGO has not made any Crabbe and Goyle minifigs. I do hope we get to see some in the near future, it's a good excuse to give is more Slytherin uniforms, without having to give us another Malfoy figure. Edit: They haven't made any for this new theme, I know they had them in the old ones.
  22. Well, my DA and GWPs are 'in Warehouse'. I don't know if this guarantees me getting the GWPs or not, but fingers crossed.
  23. It's odd, when you look at images from HBP and of her outfit + wig from the studios her hair is more brown than black. Images from DH make it black, perhaps due to colour-grading? Ladt time they made a minifig she had a brown hairpiece with a white streak in it that looked rather good .(even though the hairpiece wasn't accurate)
  24. That's why I honestly don't see them doing the Bell towers, they have no significance in the movies or books at all. Even design-wise, as you said, they're quite similar to all the other remaining towers (cube-shaped, main peak, four turrets). I think they're more likely to make some exteriors, probably the courtyard battle. They could make it the design from DH again, and include some towers for the latest Hogwarts set. Don't mistake this scepticism as me not wanting the Bell Towers, not at all. I just don't think LEGO would 'waste' a set slot on them.
  25. I was wondering if the big $230 set could be Gringotts and the Leaky Cauldron with brick wall. I know these are on opposite sides of the alley, but it would make the price more logical. In addition, since Gringotts is in an entirely different orientation of the other buildings, would they make it just attach to Ollivanders and make it a facade with interior only (like 2011) or something like the Burrow with it being exterior for front and side and interior for back and other side? What would you guys rather see for Gringotts in ways of displayability and playability?
