  1. It’s at 70k with a day to go
  2. Well it doesn't matter what we all think, someone has bumped it to 42K+
  3. That is not the one my son sold. And we could not get verification on the 300,000.00 one either. it will be interesting to see what happens
  4. #2 of 5 just hit the market on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Solid-Gold-14k-Exclusive-C-3PO-Minifigure-2-of-5-Rarest-lego-piece/164633880562?hash=item2654f1a7f2:g:uW4AAOSw8Ntf3rhE
  5. I figured so but wanted to make sure another wasn’t sold.
  6. Which one did your friend get?
  7. Guys just thought I would pass on the fact that my son did sell his. However terms of the agreement restrict from posting the price or the buyer. I can say though his is the third one sold to date that can be verified. So 1/5, 4/5 & 5/5 have been sold as far as I know.
  8. Hey my son has joined that face book and it seems to be paying heavy dividends.
  9. Yes Andrew I am your father! (In my best Darth Vader voice)
  10. Table saw?. Don't cut yourself short (pardon pun), as dynamic as you are you should at least be a compound miter box saw. Thanks for taking the humor (again at your expense though) intended with my photo. You should make it your avatar. Oh and Go Blues!
  11. Yes sir, my bad.
  12. Admittedly I took some liberties at the expense of pittpenguin123, but it was just to stir the pot a bit. I hope he has a sense of humor on this, but I just couldn't resist having just a touch of fun.
  13. My son is now in college and in charged of his own affairs. Others that have seriously inquired about the piece in the last year or so I have just forward their contact info to my son and they have their own discussion on the matter.
  14. Is that directed at me?
  15. Way back when I first posted about this piece for my son I did post a picture of the frame case with the piece in it. However a short time after that I removed the picture because I thought maybe someone then might try to copy it and rip someone off. My son is now over 18 and if anyone wants to seriously try to negotiate for it just send me your email addy and I will pass it along to him. Please note at this time he isn't looking to sell it unless someone makes home an offer he just can't pass up.
  16. The gold piece is in a case(think picture frame that is about 1" deep from glass to background) the background is basically the certificate. There is a piece of Lego fixed to that background and the figure snaps to it like any Lego piece would. What I would like to figure out, was the contest opened to anyone beyond the US? If so how many winners were in the US and how many were from another country?
  17. There was no letter. They left a phone message on our recorder saying he had been one of the lucky winners and they would ship it out to him. A few days later a Fed Ex box was left at our door step during the day. In the box was the case wrapped in a heavy clear plastic bag and that was it.
  18. However when my sons piece was delivered it arrived with the head loose laying at the bottom of the case/frame. I assume it happened during shipment since FedEx is no different than any other shipping company. We did not want to push it down too hard and damage something. So that is why the long neck look on this particular piece. It is what it is in the picture.
  19. i tried to register at that site and it keeps failing. what gives?
  20. Over the last couple years I have had several folks seriously inquiring about purchasing this piece. At this time my son has still not sold it. He has entertained a couple of legit offers but in the end he can't get himself to sell it. He starts college this fall and thanks to his hard work in high school and great test scores he is not in immediate need of cash. As I have stated before I will post if and when he sells this thing to keep everyone updated. On the flip side should anyone catch a sale of any of the other 4 I would appreciate a heads up to educate us on where the market is on them. Thanks and good luck.
  21. no it has not ........................... yet over the last year since first posting on this forum and another we've received periodic emails or pm's asking about it and sometimes a value of what they would be willing to give for it should we go to sell. anyway after the first of the year my son may look at trying to sell it. what we don't know yet is weather we should try to deal with serious folks who've inquired over the last year or just put it out on the market via ebay or whatever. anyway if and when my son decides to list it for sale you can bet your bottom dollar that i will post about it here. if for anything else just so some of the leggo fans can follow its story along for shear enjoyment/curiosity.
  22. no that is the gold c3p0
  23. as soon as my son won the thing, he said "I'll hold onto this for a few years and sell it to some collector for big bucks" he is rather conservative with his funds and is fascinated with the stock market and investing. and that was several years ago when he was 10 or 11. I hope those thoughts stick with him as he gets older. he sets goals and then gives 100 percent trying to reach them.
  24. oh i don't doubt you guys, but lets face it, when it comes to these lego figures i know nothing and the only reason i'm on here is to educate myself because of my sons good fortune. it may verywell all move, but i don't see my son letting me go at it and play with the thing anytime soon :-)
