Criteria for opening a LEGO store
The Blue Brick replied to Vindicare's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am really lucky for living in the U.S. with 64 lego stores, but what I'm trying to say is why are they putting so many Lego stores so close to each other. I'm saying this because from all the malls surrounding the Boston area mostly all of them have stores, which include Burlington, SouthShore, Natick, and now the new one at Northshore mall. To me, there is no need for that many stores, but maybe spread them out amongst the 50 states. Also, the United States is one of the biggest countries, so many things are spread out. -

I love it, so many details. -
I was wondering why doesn't the Lego group include road plates in their sets anymore? They used to be in older sets, but why not now. I was mainly wondering this because I'm in the process of making my new layout but need more road plates. I thought that maybe if they would include road plates in sets, it would incline the user to buy more since now they have a couple. Is it the price to make them, or just the fact that it would drive up the price of a set? The Blue Brick

Criteria for opening a LEGO store
The Blue Brick replied to Vindicare's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I happen to live in Connecticut, but my brother lives in Boston, Massachusetts. The thing that I don't understand is that there are three different stores all 30 minutes or so from his home, and now they're opening another one. In Connecticut, there are none. This is one thing I never understood, why put so many stores so close to each other, and then in another state, they don't put any. But anyways, I would really love for my local mall to open up a Lego store too. The mall is in a big city, so there would be a big target audience, but why not. The mall isn't that far from the Lego Factory either, which is in Enfield, Connecticut. -
Very Groovy! I love the color choices and brickbuilt MYSTERY. Awesome Job!

Buying and Selling UCS sets
The Blue Brick replied to interestedpen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I do this more to support my hobby. For example like I said, I usually tend to buy doubles of sets, one to display and use, and one to sell or keep sealed. This is what I did for the Batman line. When they came out in 2006, it cost around $500 to $600 for the whole series, but I bought two of each set, so it ended up costing me around $1100. Then just about two years ago, I decided I needed the money. This is when I sold one line on Ebay, each set individually. I made around 3,000 dollars, but about $400 dollars went to Ebay and also shipping mixed in. In the end, I made around $1,500, but used that money towards new lines and Bricklink orders. -
Buying and Selling UCS sets

I always invest in lego. I usually buy two complete series of the more popular themes, one to use for parts and display, and one to keep sealed. About two years ago, I sold the first Batman line and made an easy 3,000 dollars, even a bit more. I then used that money to invest in more Lego though. So anyways, I really think you should invest. -
I haven't tried it myself, but it seems interesting. I can't wait to see yours.

REVIEW: 40019 Brickley the Sea Serpent
The Blue Brick replied to SilentMode's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I picked this up at the Natick store mainly for the green cheese. Anyway, excellent review. -
Excellent review. I really love this set. The alternate builds are just wonderful also.

I love your VW Golf and all your other creations. I actually have a 4 door 2011 Golf as a car I drive to work now, and let me tell you, you nailed the design perfectly. These are a lot better than my attempts.

Yes, I never knew they discontinued the green tubs. I just thought they never had them at my pay wall. Anyways, I love your idea of the 32x32 baseplate box idea. I would definitely get one of those. I always end up buying about 10 PAB cups if they have a decent amount of bricks in certain colors. They really need to bring back the larger boxes. We would go crazy.
-
PAB would be cheaper. I think there are larger PAB green tubs, but are far more expensive, I think around $75 or $100.

I actually have all the bikes in various colors, except the trans red. Now that I know it might be counterfeit, I might not buy it.
-
Well those ones never appeared in any sets, but you can purchase them on brick link, so they must be rare specially printed ones. I actually have all the colors except trans red. That one is way too expensive.
-
As far as I know you can get the bicycle in red, black, white, green, yellow, blue, transparent red, pink, bright light orange, and light blue which is in the upcoming Friends Camper set. I also hope we start to get more colors in future sets.

In my town layout, I have a billboard with a classic space add on it. I also have an alley way where I built the Blactron logo as some sort of Graffiti. Those are the only easter eggs I can think of unless I actually put one in and didn't know. Now that would be a true easter egg.

I know theres going to be a new blue bike in an upcoming friends summer set. I forgot which one though. I think it might be medium blue though.

Photos of anything Star Wars related you built before 1999.

I remember my brother and I use to try and build the Millennium Falcon with the UFO pieces. Let me tell you one thing, the end results always looked hideous with all the printings on the disc part. Sadly we took no pictures. -
I love this mech. In my opinion, this one is much more detailed and better looking. I love the built up bulkiness of the chest. It makes it look a lot more like a killing machine. Anyways, awesome moc.
