  1. I really have nothing but respect for your undertaking and for your perseverence during the build. With her being almost finished now, all I can say is wow. Such attention to detail on a huge model like that is really nothing short of impressive! :) Such a beautiful ship. God I love those masts and that rigging. The shrouds look unfinished? No horizontal lines in them?
  2. I caught myself exclaiming out loud once I saw the bottom picture (which happened by accident, was scrolling quickly to the bottom to check for updates). It is absolutely magnificent. I was wondering how you were planning to continue the mast upwards above the fighting top, but your method seems very strong and it looks fantastic, as always. This is also the first time we get a glimpse of the poop deck and the stern, I believe. I must say it really is starting to take shape. Gorgeous, there really is no other word for it :) Very well done, I am so looking forward to seeing it finished completely! In reply to Horatio - I think the plan is to add the inverse shroud slopes to connect to the outer rim of the fighting top? Or am I mistaken? At least the hoops for them are still there now. That said, on the previous update pictures the inverse slopes were a tad too large, but this seems to have fixed it, even if the inverse are gone (for the moment?).
  3. In awe. Fantastic work with the shroud design, can't wait to see it finished :) The entire bow is just wonderful with so many awesome details!
  4. I can tell you, it is a lot of jumpers :P - I am currently working on a similar (74 gun third rate) project using a similar method, though I am building my ship sub-water hull included (which is where I am now, and I am already sitting on several thousands of those tiny fellas. Captain Blackmoor: An extraordinary ship with great sense of detail and accuracy, and a post which I have been following for a quite a while, always eager to see if a new update has ticked in. Keep it up, I can't wait to see more and I will find my spot in the long line of people who can't, either.
  5. Though I have no idea of how many sets I own I estimate around 30% of them are pirate themed ones. I guess castle themes take the prize at about 40%. :P
  6. Already at this point I adore her to bits :) Absolutely extraordinary work there, Wesley. It's been a joyride to follow the WIP hitherto, as I'm sure it will be henceforth. Can't even begin to imagine the cost of all those pieces... :P To make the space around the wheel less cramped, you could look into placing just one windowdoor closest to the railing on either side of the wheel, much like on the Victory and the other ship you posted a picture of yesterday. There would be no space for a minifig inside the cabin by that window though... Captain Green Hair did it in his build-a-frigate tutorial, to great effect actually: Can't wait to see more, good luck :)
