  1. I found the same problem both with the original build and also using jb70's build instructions although jb70's build was a bit better. It's fine on the 1-4 side of the gearbox but when it tries to shift the extra high/low side of the 'box it didn't seem to have the leverage to move and fully engage it in position. I tried your mod (although jb70's build in that area is slightly different so I had to use a 2L XO block to do the same job as your cross block) and it improved things quite a bit but still the occasional missed shift when the arms from the paddle shifter slipped off the gear wheel assembly before full engagement of the gear occurred. I added another white rubber band to the paddle shifter assembly to give it more tension so it didn't slip off the pins too early and now it works really well every time. It may be a slightly illegal building technique but it is a Lamborghini and I'm pretty sure they don't do everything strictly by the book during their builds!
  2. As far as I know there isn't a listing of parts for individual boxes. I'm not sure it would you give much advantage anyway. I recently broke down mine to rebuild using jb70's build instructions and no matter how you decide to group parts together there is a daunting mass of bits in front you! Even if you had a list of what came from each box you'd still have to hunt through the piles of parts to then separate them all out in to each box set and all you'd end up with is several slightly smaller daunting piles! Since you know everything you need is there somewhere in the bags you have you might as well just bite the bullet and start building, accepting the fact that it might/will take a frustrating long time to find some of the parts you need for each step of the build. Obviously the further into the build you get the easier it gets as the pile of parts get used up. That's the approach I took anyway and the plus side, if there is one, is that it is actually really satisfying when you finally find that tiny part you've been searching for the last 20 minutes!
  3. Thanks for your reply @zonoskar. In the post about this mod @LegoHoops did specify that the #21/22 panel moved with the door mechanism rather than the door itself but when I've tried to replicate it it doesn't work and jams against the door sill - I just can't see how it's done!
  4. Ok @LegoHoops I think I’ve got an idea of how you’ve fixed those panels, at least it looks like yours when the door is closed. Problem is that the door won’t open with the #21 panel fitted there. As the door starts to open the door sill catches the fixing that holds the panel and stops the door opening. Any idea what I’ve got wrong with this mod? Any help would be great, it’s driving me nuts!!
  5. That looks pretty good @LegoHoops but I can't figure out how you've done it. Would you mind showing how those fins are attached please?
  6. OK, thanks @LegoHoops, so that's a 3L pin that goes through the 1 X 3 cross block fitted at step 486 instead of the 2L? I thought that's how you had done it but it seemed to clash a bit with the angled connector #5 next to it so I wondered if I'd misunderstood it. I've finished the right hand side of it now and does seem to sort itself out. It really is a huge improvement on the original construction, thank you so much for sharing it.
  7. Hi @LegoHoops, that grill looks great and I'm having a go it myself, thanks for sharing your design. I'm a bit confused about how you've attached the black bionicle tooth part at the ends of the grille, can you give a bit more detail on that please? many thanks
  8. Ah, I see! So if I understand you correctly you reposition the knobby gear by using 2 3L axles instead of the 4L. Then the bit of the axle sticking out of the gear goes into the hole of the square beam type piece in step 242 instead of using the red 2L axle? That's great, thanks for that and for the actual rendering of it, really helpful. I have seen the correction for the gear sequencing thanks and I think they've corrected it in the online manual by showing the position of the wave gear things in step 88. Thanks again for your help.
  9. Hi all, Does anyone know if the paddle shift in this model works the wrong way round like the Bugatti and Lamborghini did? (i.e. pulling the right paddle made a downshift and pulling the left made an upshift). If it does will there be a simple way to correct it similar to the other two such as moving that yellow knobby gear above the beam so it meshes on the top of the other gear rather than below (something like that anyway!)? Some of your work on here is simply amazing but a bit beyond me so I'd be looking for a fairly simple solution to this if possible as a paddle shift working in reverse would drive me crazy!
  10. Hi @LegoHoops and anyone else who can help, it's been a while since I've been on here! Having just finished the Lamborghini Sian I thought I'd revisit the Porsche to strip it down and re-build in right hand drive configuration. I remember finding a full PDF build instruction file on the interweb somewhere a good while ago (should have downloaded it then, I know!!) but I can't find it now and wondered how you went about the RHD build and if you know of any instructions available to download? Any help anyone can suggest would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
  11. Yes I did see that and it looks good but looks more complicated than @LegoHoops's solution. It looks like yours will need a rear end strip down to change the blue pins (the ones holding the hub on) to axles. The other solution seems to keep the blue pins and might be easier to do. I'm very new to all this so I'm looking for the simplest way!
  12. So glad I found this forum, I'm amazed at what you guys can do! The 45 degree calipers look great but how exactly have you done it? I know you've used the piece with 2 holes and a 45 degree arm but can you explain how that's attached to the suspension arms please? Thanks.
