I would also like to see the Model Team line come back. Few of the model like kits since then have come close to the realism that the Model Team line reached. Thus is especially true of the current line of Technic "supercar" vehicles. They are far more Technic than Model Team, including the use of Technic body panels. That's not to say they aren't all sitting on my Technic display shelves. The Creator line is far closer to the Model Team, the 1989 Batman kits and the Aston Martin are as good as any Model Team kit ever released. The Mustang and the Dodge, not quite as much.

Just wondering about the name for this forum. Having been a Technic fan since the Expert Builder series came out and have grabbed every Model Team kit as they were released I have a difficult time understanding where the conjunction between these two themes lies. Technic has been on the more mechanical aspects of LEGO while the long-out-of-date Model Team line tried more to look more like the vehicles that were being modeled with little or no mechanical aspects.

I've just spent a half hour on the phone with LEGO customer support. After they dug around a little they discovered that I'm not the only one with this problem and that it started with the last update of the IOS Control+ software. Supposedly the app developers are working on it and hope to have a fix in the next update. So far the only sure way of getting the app to work is to either delete it and reload it or wait until it times out, overnight maybe. .

I have been having one hell of a time working through the problems with the Leibherr Control+ app. Each time I completed a step and went to run the test software for that step my iPad couldn't pair up with the hub. I discovered that if I deleted the app and reloaded it onto my iPad, ran through the previous steps test. then I could connect and run the next test. After I completed the whole build I had to delete the app, download it again, run through the tests, and go through calibration, all to be able to reach the control panel to operate the model. After playing with it I turned it off by pressing each hub's green button until it blinked white at me. I come back to play with it again and I am unable to link with the hub again. Deleting the app on my iPod and loading it again, also going though all of the tests and recalibrating, I am able to pair and control it again. I forgot to add that the app locks up my iPad while trying to pair forcing my to cycle power to get control of it again. This has become a real pain and I'm starting to look at this model as only a static display.

I have been trying for 4 days to connect to the second hub. The hub blinks white and my iPad doesn't show it as a Bluetooth device. I was able to connect with the first hub and downloaded new firmware. I am NOT a fan of the new control technology. I tried displaying the 4x4 at a show. I was able to connect during setup but after people started coming in I was no longer able to connect. I have heard similar stories from train people and train shows. The LEGO Bluetooth LE implementation is weak and should be redesigned.

The boxcars I have built with sliding doors used the "raingutter" plates as the rails and a door that Lego made just to slide on them.

Sometimes I'm afraid to support an idea since every one I've supported that reached 10,000 was rejected by TLG. Beginning to think I'm bad luck. :)

I love it and could see getting two so the plant could be enlarged.

Multiple MOC at the same time
Larry Andersen replied to Larry Andersen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I guess I'm in the minority on this one. If I stop working on one MOC to start on another the first one gets set aside and forgotten about. More often than not it end up being disassembled later on either for the parts or the space. I never was very good at multi-tasking. -
Do you work on more than one MOC at the same time or are you more of a serial builder not starting a new MOC until the last one has been completed?

I would bring back Model Team. Although Creator Expert is coming close to it with the DB5.

I've found that doing the sorting in several stages helps break the workload down into manageable chunks. My top level sort is into the categories; rectangular bricks, odd shaped bricks, plates, tiles, Technic parts. From there I sort each pile into sub categories and so forth until they're sorted down to the divisions they're stored in. One of the benefits of doing it this way is that at the end of each stage you have piles that can be boxed or bagged until time for the next stage of sorting.
-
I used to do that until storage space became an issue. Now I throw all the parts together as building stock.

I swing between long haired heavy metal to electronic.

Very cool! Have you done any experimenting with Archimedes' response to different colored lighting? From what I've read they seem to be mostly colorblind but with great night vision.

Just placed an order for an EV3 battery pack and gyro sensor. When I saw that the studded notebooks were half price I couldn't pass them up.

I've played bass guitar, 6 & 12 string guitar, keyboards, drum machines, and modular synth at one time or another in the past. Some for fun and some for a living. My favorites at the moment are 12 string guitar and modular synth.

I have been combining Arduino processors and Lego for a while now. I've always found the graphical programming environment lacking in abilities. Lately I've added the use of servo motors for actuation of pneumatic valves, railroad points, and monorail switches. Using C++ to create the code works best for me but I realize not everyone appreciates that style of programming.

Hi, Just checking in for the first time here. I had never received my email address confirmation post so I never knew I had actually been added. I was quite surprised when the next time I visited the site and saw the "Hello New Member" banner at the top. So then, here I am. I've been a Lego fan since the Expert Builder Technic series was released. Some time back in the 1970's. I still have a lot of 4.5V parts including a couple computer interface boards left over from that time. Then 9V came along and I had to upgrade everything, of course. Then came the RCS brick which luckily allowed me to still use my 9V motors. Then came Power Functions and a whole new acquisition of parts was needed. Now comes Power-Up. I got the Batman set and immediately saw the drawbacks. A limit of two motors, no user configurable screen layout, and only one size motor and battery pack. Lego is going to have to do a lot more work on this to make it worthwhile. So that's my 2 cents worth at the moment. More to follow elsewhere. Larry
