  1. wow. what a collection of UCS sets! i would love even 1 or 2 of these. shows how popular they are when they sell that quick!
  2. there was a complete set on bricklink just now for US$800. unfortunately the seller would not ship to me (Australia) and someone else jumped on it before i could figure out how to get it here. bummer.
  3. i see, cheers i have the death star II set (10143) and just printed off the parts list for the falcon to see how many common pieces there are. unfortunately there does not seem to be too many. is bricklink the best/cheapest place to source pieces? being in Australia i can see shipping being the most prohibitive factor in not being able to afford to do this.
  4. this might be a total noob question, but what are the light blueish grey pieces??? cant see anything with that description on the part list??
  5. cant help you with your question but interested to know approw how much it costs to buy this set in parts?? definately an option i am considering.
  6. well as someone who is currently looking for this set, i can say that it is absolutely unaffordable (for me anyway) at the current prices. i am not the sort of person to hide an unopened set away, i would much prefer to open and build it. in saying this, if i had have bought a set before it was discontinued, my story would probably be different i have considered going the individual bricklink route but i dont think i have the patience. i will continue to browse ebay in hope....
  7. holy s@#t!! i think i underestimated their prices, esp the falcon! *oh2*
  8. yeah i figured they might have gone up in value a bit. never hurts to ask! maybe someone has one boxed up somewhere they do not need....
  9. looks in that photo to be a lot smaller than the 10030.
  10. i am a new member and i hope this is ok (i did read the guidelines but if its not ok please post and ill remove it) i am back to lego after being into it bigtime as a kid and have recently discovered the star wars series. being a star wars film fan this immediately appealed to me and i was lucky enough to score a UCS death star II (10143) which I had great fun building. as result i started searching other USC sets and found the millenium falcon (10179) and star destroyer (10030) which look great but have subsequently found to be discontinued i doubt anyone with these great sets will want to part with them but, if anyone has either and they are looking to sell, i would be very interested. i am in Australia but am happy to pay for shipping. cheers
  11. saw a number of star wars 10212 sets at my local bigw today. would love to have grabbed one but i dont think it is quite worth the $448 price tag! did look nice though....
  12. just finished building the USC death star II. picked it up second hand and is by far the biggest set i have built. i am on the hunt now for the millenium falcon and imperial star destroyer.... (let me know if u want to sell !!)
  13. another victorian!
  14. wow. amazing work!
  15. yeah i cant believe they were on the way to the tip. i hadnt had them out for years but i was never going to toss them! ill pass them on to my jnr (one day!). glad to hear you got yours back too! cheers
  16. hey, im from not-so-sunny Vic. damn freezing here at the moment! as a kid i loved the space themed lego and still have boxes and boxes of the stuff. being a star wars tragic i can help but love the star wars kits now. i would love the millenium falcon and star destroyer but i catn bring myself to pay those ebay prices!
  17. cant wait to build this. i missed out on the other large UCS sets so i will definately grab this.
  18. i would love this set but not for the $450 they want for it here!!
  19. thanks guys. it only took a forced room cleanout to re-spark my interest. can u believe my father was actally going to throw out all my lego i had saved as a kid!! i had to go home and save it from the dump and bring it to where i live now. as soon as i got it home i pulled a set out to build and remebered how much fun it was. cheers
  20. hey all, new memeber here from sunny OZ (well not so sunny at the moment!). been lurking for a while before signing up but thought i would take the plunge! i was a big fan of lego as a kid - mostly loved space & technic, and now as a 30 something, the spark has just been relit. just built the 10143 star wars death star which i thought was pretty cool but looking at some of the mocs on here seems pretty inconsiquential :) would love to get a few more UCS sets though... anyway looking forward to reading a lot and posting a bit! cheers
