Hi LightningTiger. I am just a lurker around these parts at present (always looking for ideas as I build my first MOC, my own house), but I just wanted to de-lurk to let you know that there are some of us who really appreciate all your builds, and particularly the enthusiasm with which you are always prepared to offer feedback to other builders. I feel a bit bad when you don't get the same level of feedback that you give.
To the topic of appliances. I've just done my kitchen in my MOC, and put in a coffee machine, toaster (2x1 textured brick with grille plate on top), and blender (1x1 black plate, with 1x1 black round plate then transparent cup on top - with inverted black 1x1 round plate on top of that).
