  1. Yes it has to be a bike. The contest is about modding a bike like the one I first posted (no need to be blue). And I remind everybody the contest finishes June 8th!! 0 entries so far... >:-(
  2. 007, was that an entry? Yes, LDD or any CG is fine with me (But then again: are those bikes available at SAH?)! I decided I can offer a prize. Sorry it's nor city-related, I just happen to have these 4 lego Star Wars troopers around (as pictured, no bricks no pistols, because I bought the set just for the guns). I can send them anywhere in the world, so everybody can participate... The winner will be decided by me based upon sheer coolness. And simplicity. And no-snot-ism! :-P
  3. Hello! I just got this beautiful thing in an auction: Now, I think we should have a little summer fun. What do you think I should make with it? No rules, everything goes but keep in mind I want to integrate it with a City scheme System! EDIT: The contest is official now. The rules are very simple: The design has to be usable within a Lego "City" environment, it has to use System pieces and that is all. Yes, it can be a real design, LDD or CG. You have until June 8th!! Thanks for pinning this!

Nice work! It kind of reminds me of this car I just happen to have around (I built it yesterday). Your MOC also has the sprung wheels of that fabulous fire minicar we got a couple of years ago!
  5. Klaus-Dieter, I am curious to find out why little means more enjoyable to you. I voted classic, no surprise here. What I do is taking classic style buildings and
  6. Salvobrick! Nice to see you in the boards! Your designs rock! *wub* Are you Italian? I
  7. Thanks everybody! It looks like it was not only me, what a relief. I am also more than happy with the current CITY (that gorgeous Service Station will be my next purchase whenever it comes to Asia) because more or less it keeps the old LEGO City standards (not *that* old, I mean the standard of my childhood: I still want my minifigs with arms and grins!!!). So this is what I will do (That LDD design is not mine, so I included the address): I can see the original Cafe Corner looks more stunning, but what about the charm? Starwars4J got me: Maybe I have to add my total lack of SNOT ability to the other reasons like the nostalgia factor, etc
  8. I have to agree with the one who said the ratio between cars and trucks is perfect: 4-wide cars, 6-wide trucks, oh yeah. Brickshelf user zanthrax made a fantastic comparison between the new and old bargage truck + cement mixer: I like the detailed new ones (But please, TLC, don
  9. Yeah, he is from Taiwan and participates in TWLug (please see my signature). His work is astonishing!!!
  10. I have been giving a great deal of thought to this since we first saw the 10190 Market Street set, and now with the 10182 Caf
  11. I just wanted to tell everybody there is a small but wonderful unofficial LEGO exhibition set up by TWLUG at Taiwan
  12. I agree with the "feeling the void" thing, seriously. It was true in my case to a certain extent, of course not as much as Madoka because of my poor finances... then I saw Oprah did a program on that and realised I don't need things to make me happy, now I buy less stuff and enjoy it more. May I friendly suggest you check "Compulsive Shopping" and "Inside the Secret Lives of Hoarders"?
  13. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was speechless when I saw such a great deal of MOCs, I came out from the movie angry because of TLC let this opportunity pass but then I saw your work... Props to you, SirNadroj... I think you got the Sandman t-shirt from soccer sets, can you confirm this? Because I remember I got some extra Soccer guys back at home in Spain, I'll check this Christmas. I'm *so* doing mine! Have you people noticed the Sandman has a rock-hard right hand???? How cool is that. Also props to the japanese guy who made the customised Venom posted before, they are woooonderful!!!! Do any of you guys know how to contact him? If he really is selling these things I would surely buy (Meanwhile here are some ideas for customising your Venom ;-) ). WE WANT TO SEE MORE SPIDERMAN 3 MOC GOODNESS, COME ON EVERYBODY, SHOW TLC!!!
  14. EDIT: I didn't carefully see that other post, so it came to me as a surprise when I found SirNadroj's folder at Brickshelf. Wow! He made a GREAT Sandman, congratulations. I'll repost the pic here because he is just the best: I was really disappointed when I realised there were not going to be any Lego Spiderman 3 sets, I really hope *we* get the license back for Spiderman 4 and so on. Lego Spiderman brought me back from my dark ages because it was a cool way to make a great city: What's not to like about the origins set? You got a wonderful lab with creative tricks, computers, a LOT of minifigs... Fusion lab had a great facade that I turned into a whole building. The cable car one with bridge and taxi was a great addition to my city layout (look at this enhanced MOC version), I could integrate a sea theme (docks, boats) without any port (of course this is going to change this year). My bank is going to be more than a wall someday; kind of like this person did but also this big. By now I'm just hoarding sand color blocks (I'll put the Harry Potter lion heads there! Wait and see!). Same goes for the underground train set: I bought 3 of them, looking for my 4th and also looking for ways to turn them into a cool thing adding the radio control thing, I hope they release another one in bley. (People, I just have no time! But really, someday I will build all this and let you see! Really!) I can't talk about Spiderman sets without getting excited; they were THAT great for me and for other people too. It is a shame we can't get more. Only bad point only: Fleshies were a pain in the butt, that is correct. But how cool would a Belltower have been? What do you say about the rundown Spidey flat? I see a cool room with bed, window to jump off... About more superhero licenses, I say... bring them on!
  15. I think this quality issue is real, big and totally unacceptable (We should have seen it coming the moment they mentioned outsourcing). Now, what can we do as consumers? I am eager to collaborate on any efforts to call the company's attention. Any ideas?
  16. That was a great read, thanks!
  17. Sorry I always bring old news. And thanks a lot, natelite, for your informative translation! So it' looks like its still available... Oh well, I was going to buy a second airport anyway (I want to put one behind the other so that they form a dome-like structure, hinged so I can open it), so this is perfect.. It is a pain the stickers make it 30% more expensive (maybe only compared to the euro price of the original airport) but in my opinion the blue is sooooo nice.
  18. Hey guys have you seen this limited edition airport? I speak Chinese and not Japanese, but it is obvious it says 1.000 units only. I think it's worth it, so cute!!!
  19. ...and another nod for MattZitron. He rocks.
  20. Okay! So what do you guys think about this? See bigger picture here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takuto20...605_576x768.jpg I told myself I should make it on my own in order to show you all my idea (and show TLC how it is done...) but then when I was halfway I realised I needed more pieces. Do you see what set is this MOD inspired from?
  21. What about modules? I envision a basic construction with identic exterior (windows) and customizable interior. I imagine they would release a floor every 6 months ort maybe every year. I would buy floor 1 in 2007 (bank + starbucks), then floor 2 in 2008 (office + gym), then floor 3 in 2009 (apartments) and then top floor (lounge bar with a view + terrace) in 2010. Then one could be put on top of the other, voil
  22. I'm going to TOKYO this month and I would like to know which are the best places to shop for Lego. Is there an official Lego Store? Any information (either on Lego or the city itself) is welcome! :-)
  23. At first I wanted to do the same as WhiteHexagon, I mean grabbing a wonderful inventory from Peeron.com and then buying the necessary pieces brand new. The feeling of the hunting is great!!! *sweet* I reccomend everybody here to do this because it is very doable with sets like Cafe Breeze, I had almost all the parts (miuns windows)! The only problem I had was that every single big white plate I bought in Bricklink was yellowed or had teeth marks.... :-| People really should not lie about the condition of pieces labeled as "new"... But still fun. Some other sets, however, are cheaper if you wait for a reasonably priced MISB. The wonderful Pier Police or The Gas Station, for example, because it has quite a few old specialised parts that cannot be found in new sets and hence are very difficult to find in a great state. I am talking about the small wheels, car bases... Oh! Yeah, I forgot to say that in my case everything started when I started replacing any old grey with bley (Sorry guys, I like it) from my Grand Station. I realised this is very difficult, because for example this piece does not exist in light/dark bley. Oh well... :-| I still recommend trying, because it's fun.
  24. Yes I will buy two: One for immediate playing, another one for my sister and the enjoyment of the day by day surprises!!! :-)
  25. I would KILL for it. I would SELL MY MOM.
