DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
hachiroku replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I tought that, and considering this is the same size/scale as the 76119 maybe the idea is to add them these two to the D2C. On the other hand, I think it would be weird/not a good idea to skip the 1989 Batmobile in a collection of Batmobiles, when it's probably the favourite one for most of the people. I think it will be a giant scale 1989 Batmobile. -
I made this for the Lego Ideas Harley Davidson contest: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/1431b6dd-aef3-447f-8d30-83d73086e0c9/application/b3ac255c-5c2e-40ba-b423-e39c6c8e0644 Lego Harley Davidson hover chopper by hachiroku24, en Flickr Lego Harley Davidson hover chopper by hachiroku24, en Flickr I put a button on the tank that when you press it, it lights up the engine. Lego Harley Davidson hover chopper by hachiroku24, en Flickr And you can move the rear engine jet with the handle bar. I had to cross the track rods so the engine jet moves in the opposite direction as the handle bar. LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Do you mean the "arm spoiler"? That's 100% fake and photoshopped. -
I guess the fight is not over yet. I'm still convinced we will get the sets. btw, the Bastion skin is very curious. It's like an early model of the Bastion set. It's the same size as the set (a ltlle bigger), but it's very different. I guess Blizzard had to change some pieces and shapes to use the exact same hitbox.

I'm not into flagships, specially in this size (my room can't help anymore), but this is impressive. I really really like how this looks. I'd say the background is the spaceport of Corellia from SOLO, where the Empire assembles the ISDs. Nice detail. -

I noticed a "bug" in the box art of the Batmobile. In the box art, it looks like the pieces behing the frontlights (the cheese tiles) are a 1x2 black plate and a 2x2 black plate, but in the real model these pieces are a 2x2 modified plate with two studs on the side: The other side looks right: -
Does (not) enjoying a movie/series influence your purchase decisions?
hachiroku replied to Flieger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yep, I should read them. I want to read the Heir to the Empire comics at least (I know the novels are probably better, but I think I won't want to miss the visual art of a Star Wars product). I know... But it's too hard after watching the milking scene -

What are the chances that we're getting the Cap from WS and the beginning of Endgame insetad of the scaled one? -

I have to say that this affected me (and my collection) a lot, specially with TLJ. That movie trashed the entire saga for me, I can't just look back to the ending of RotJ, watch Luke talking with Yoda or Vader, knowing he won't even care about saving his nephew and doing what he does in Ahch-To. Or the romance of Han and Leia, I think it's pointless to watch their relationshio now knowing they will end up in the worst way possible. I bought some of TLJ sets before the movie. Then few months after, I decided to dissassemble everything and store the parts for MOCs. I've bought only three Star Wars sets (Republic tank, Solo's speeder and Anakin's podracer) since TLJ, and I used to buy even some of the bigger sets every year. I like the new IX sets, but I don't think I will be buying them (I like a lot the new Falcon), I don't care about the new characters. I feel that I don't have any connection with these movies. It's sad, I hope I can enjoy this franchise again someday. I really want to watch the Mandalorian tho. -

Wow, the AT-ST set is a giant spoiler. -
If I remember correctly, the engine they used for Overwatch wasn't good enough for PvE content, and that's why the PvE events have been so "simple" (but to be honest, I think they were good enough, the last one was bad but because it was a rehash of Retribution and very short). Maybe they want to add vehicles and that kind of stuff, I don't know. I think a sequel so soon makes sense. Overwatch was very rushed, and it was made out of the project Titan. EDIT: Hmmm, what if the sets are not cancelled but delayed to the release of Overwatch 2?

Well, the pumpkin field scene is very popular too. Actually, there are a big lot of entries about it, and using the same desing for the pumpkin field (but orange heads and the pumpkin piece are vey common, so it's obvious to build it that way). Plus, the build is just a vertical build with bricks, and using a lot of arcs and inverted arcs in colours that doesn't exist in real life. I mean, I'm not saying it's a bad build, but it's something very simple. There are way better ways to build that kind of "organic" structures, combining vertical and horizontal pieces, etc. For example like this: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48424927166_63e6034de4_b.jpg Oh, another problem is that he's using the flashlights like actual light sources, which is kinda tricky. And the minifigures, obviously, that something you can only do in a digital building. I just don't think the pumpkin field entry would look so well in real life the way it is. I don't know, I know I'm whining, but it's a little frustrating to lose in a building contest due to the quality render, which actually that's one of the coolest points in the three winners. Well, let's stop the comparison! They made this entry today on Ideas, encouraging people to build with real bricks: https://ideas.lego.com/activities/e96a43b5-9c97-4731-8e02-070510b8bf28#/?query=&sort=newest I'm glad to see it, specially because I wasn't the only one dicussing this issue. I've seen people discusing it a lot in the blog entry of the JW contest, and even in flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ballomnomnom/48568323406/in/faves-91426193@N02/ -

I'm not against digital entries, obviously. They require to know how to use it well and you can use even pieces in colours that don't exist, and with physical bricks you can use more techniques and more pieces like cloth stuff. Like you said, advantages & disadvantages to both ways. But I actually think the quality of the render counts too much in these contests. Specially in the Stranger Thngs contest, which I'm still a little salty about it. This was my entry: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/f72933d5-6a50-4179-8a95-617380b3c74c/application/aab06b29-fc19-4ec9-b44a-c45bc053a998 I put a lot of work for this moc (the van with the letters, the brick-built bycicle, the photography....) and people really like it. It even got posted in Brothers Brick and Lego Car Blog. I have the feeling that if I were made a cool render with good lighning of this build I would have had more chances to win. I don't they're choosing digital builds consciously (mostly because why would they do that?), but when almost 100% are digital, you clearly have more chances to win with a digital entry. -
I'm still convinced we will get the sets. Overwatch is too big for Blizzard to stop all the toy lines after a year. PS: Roadhog fig leaked, it's as amazing. I was afraid the print wouldn't look as good as the official pics but it does. The best Overwatch figure by far.

I think the same about the bearded head. It has the akward expression of the Unworthy Thor. -
LEGO Ideas Discussion
hachiroku replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I just noticed something on the Lego Ideas contests, I'm not saying that the chosen creations aren't winners or something like that, but almost every winner in these contest are digital builds. For example, in the Ford Mustang contests, 6 out of 6 winners were digital; Jurassic Park contest, 3 out of 3 digital winners; Stranger Things contest, 3 out of 3 digital winners; James Bond, 3 out of 3 digital winners; Pop-Up Story, 8 prizes, 2 of them that are bonus prizes are physical builds and so on. I like to participate in the Ideas contests, but I like to build physical creations and I have the feeling that physical builds have some kind of disadvantage compared to digital builds, it's kind of discouraging. I'm really curious if there is any reason for that, because as I said, there is almost no winners with physical builds in all the recent contests: https://ideas.lego.com/search/global_search?type=contests&query=&sort=most_recent -

About the November bat-vehicle, I think it will be the Batmobile from BvS/JL: -The UCS Tumbler came in 2014, two years after TDKR. The new set will come two years after Justice League. -Hot Wheels/Mattel already made an "UCS" of that Batmobile, so we can guess toy companies are interested in that. On the other hand, I think 3300 pieces for that car is too much, but if they include all the weaponry and stuff to change between the BvS/JL versions... I don't know. -
Hmmm, I don't know. I think they're pushing this theme recently with more ads and the Ideas contest.

You should read Thanos Wins, by Donny Cates. PS: Really glad to see we're finally getting a Thanos minifig, to not be so off topic -
Thank you! First time on the frontpage, it's an honor I had a more horrific version, with grey wigs and trans red pieces around there, but it didn't look very good. Thanks!

Thank you all of you! I'm very glad to see you're finding this funny and laughing at this, that was wxactly my first reaction when I saw the raptor finished (and still chuckling when I see the second one) BTW, I changed it to the Lizard from Spiderman: The Lizard by hachiroku24, en Flickr

Well, good and bad news today for the Lego Overwatch. I don't know how to feel. I hope Lego puts more healers in this third wave.
