  1. Those are very nice. You are ahead of me when building MOC's. I have yet to try and design a train on my own. I still use instructions. :)
  2. I was told Lego stores in the US will get the train August 1st.
  3. I just build this tram. It will run on lego track but the doors to the tram are just a normal door.
  4. Talk to my local Lego Store manager. He told me they got a memo saying to start telling customers that the Freight Train will be available in USA Lego stores August 1st. This makes me happy. I can my use my VIP points. :)
  5. Hmmm. If this is true. Then maybe the Freight train will become more available by August. That's only couple weeks away. I cannot wait. I really like this train.
  6. Completed the model and added decals. Thanks TheBrickster for fixing the post title.
  7. Any news if this is coming to the US?
  8. I took plans from brick gallery and mixed in pieces from the current cargo train design. I mainly modified the trucks to use the older bumper magnets and some pieces on the top of the train. I got parts from bricklink and left overs from Lego factory train set. Update: I completed the model and added decals. Hope to try another model soon. Here is a link too see it better. DB 111
  9. Found this youtube video. Guy already has the train and it does come with track and PF controller.
  10. Went to my local lego shop to look at legos. (I do this once a week). Was talking to an employee there and she told me that a Lego rep came and said Lego was disappointed with how PF trains are working out and that a new system was coming. Anyone else hear about that or is it just wishful thinking.
  11. Hello Everyone I am Stefanwest. I just started collecting Lego Trains. I am 47 years old and I grew up in Germany where Legos were my favorite toy. I still remember the first set I had. It was a Shell Oil gas station that came with a yellow tanker truck. The Lego cars and trucks back then had silver metal wheels. This past year I started collecting and building the Lego City sets that had trucks in them. I like building trucks. Recently I went and bought the Lego Cargo Train set (7939). I really enjoyed building that train and "testing" it on it's track. I have since gone and bought the Passenger Train (7938) , Emerald Night, Maersk Container Train and the Lego Factory Hobby Train (Swiss Crocodile) off ebay. So far I like the Hobby train and the Maersk. I wish I could go back and get the BSNF and the Super Chief, but those two are demanding high prices. I currently am trying to build a James Mathis designed German DB111. In my college days in Germany, I rode many of trains back to parents on holidays on trains with this engine. So far it is working out ok. I have to make some modifications because some of the parts are very hard to come by or not available at all. So I am making some modifications. I do use Lego Pick a Brick and the Bricklink website for parts. The Maersk train is really the top train for me. It is the most realistic looking train and I am hoping there are future train kits that use this as a base. So far my "testing" room consists of the spare bedroom where I put a small layout on the bed. :) Been reading the forums here for awhile so I decided to go ahead and register. Thanks
