  1. Honestly The Batman movie tie in sets are some of my favorites in years. A clever cheap set with good motorcycle builds, plus two desirable minifigs - Great A brilliant new Batmobile variant with an exclusive greatly detailed Penguin minifig - Awesome A creative yet relatively modest version of the Batcave with 4 exclusive minifigs that won't break your wallet - Incredible Not to mention all of them include not just an amazing Batman minifig, but also the Robert Pattinson head and hair pieces. I don't know about anyone else but I think this wave is pointed to a promising comeback for the DC theme in the future. All this plus the revamped Tumbler is really something considering these are the only "real" DC sets all year. If they can make what should be a whole wave of bland uninteresting Batman sets actually desirable just wait to see what else they have planned.
  2. I could see Lego having unofficial products for HBO Max content, something like the 2016 "Suicide Squad" sets that simply included Batman-related squad members so they could still pass it off as a Batman set Luckily Batgirl, Blue Beetle, and Static Shock are all somewhat affiliated with Batman one way or another, so Lego can still do what they love most and include them in a $80 Batmech vs Jokerbike set or something Personally I would love a Static Shock, even if its just a one off minifig like Shazam in the 2019 Batwing set
  3. The rumored minifig scale Tumbler is the only thing getting a classic Lego Batman fan through 2021 (that and the fantastic 2006-style Batman in the minifig pack way back in January ) Honestly a single set like the holy 2008 Tumbler would make up my year for Lego DC completely, call me crazy but I'd rather have two or three genuinely desirable sets spread throughout the year than a full year of lamely built Bat-Vehicles with reused minifigs for ridiculously high prices taking up the shelves just to sell like garbage.
  4. Just imagine if Lego would actually take initiative with all their DC properties the same way they did for Lego Batman Movie $130 for a flying tunnel with a Batmobile would be happy to explain why
  5. I remember hearing somewhere that if The Batman was to come out 2021, the sets for the movie were gonna be huge for Lego (figuratively, not literally) I guess theres always next year though
  6. Theres probably half a dozen Marvel / Star Wars / DC CMF rumors that circulate every year, I wouldn't take anything seriously without a reliable source. In fact, as I recall there was a rumored Star Wars CMF that was supposed to come out this wave that people were talking about way back in Spring last year, and as you can see it was completely untrue.
  7. Has anyone managed to get their hands on 40453 Batman vs. The Penguin & Harley Quinn off Lego.com yet? It changed on the website from “Coming January 1st, 2021” to “Coming Soon” I was just curious
  8. I was just about to ask We haven't gotten any info about anything since they said there would be exclusive products from Lego? Its a bit confusing Honestly by "exclusive products" at this point I would just expect maybe a t shirt or new key-chain on Shop@Home or something like that
  9. Anyone have a clue on the January 2021 sets? Typically with San Diego Comic Con hype reaching its peak in the coming weeks we would have gotten a set reveal for at least one Superhero theme, but current events in the world right now have caused SDCC to be cancelled in favor of a free online experience. I really have no idea how Lego plans on releasing the exclusive minifigs and sets (I figure a random online raffle or something) so I was just curious if all still goes as planned for Lego set reveals or if we should just keep on speculating
  10. Its a decent possibility, although the Black Widow set Taskmaster minifig might be Lego's way of giving us a new Taskmaster regardless We hardly know anything about the Avengers game story, much less the characters they're using, though. For all we know Abomination has a bigger role in the game than Taskmaster. Personally I'm hoping for a Ms. Marvel minifig (minus the giant floppy rubber arms so I won't be forced to use the dark non-purist ways just for a normal minifig)
  11. Anyone else have a feeling that the January wave of DC sets are gonna be both lower quality and quantity like the January 2019 wave. I feel like its some sort of conspiracy with Lego that they would want to release more Marvel (or should I say Spiderman) sets at the same time to help market the new game, which would take the focus off of DC (aka Batman) sets. Then again like every DC set since like January 2018 has been lackluster, excluding a few Summer 2019 sets imo
  12. The best I could see Lego doing to market the game a bit is another January wave of Spiderman sets with at least one having the Miles Morales minifig from January 2019. Although we still know very little about the game's actual plot, I really hope Lego takes this opportunity of Spiderman hype to give us some new characters, or at the very least awesome new minifig designs (if we're being honest I wouldn't mind a Lizard or Kingpin one bit)
  13. I actually think the Summer 2019 Batman sets were the best DC sets in a good while. I have no clue why they got so much hate for all of them including great designs and being reasonably priced. I have to admit up until building the new Batcave I disliked the Clayface design but once I actually saw it for myself it was a pretty great design, definitely better than the 2017 version, although that set in itself wasn't half bad either.
  14. I honestly would prefer some comic characters over MCU any day. Theres many more characters that they haven't used from the comics than from the movies (from my personal wishlist Kang, Daredevil, Howard the Duck, Mighty Thor, etc.) and thats just if they don't use Fox's previously owned characters (a-not-$40-on-BrickLink Deadpool minifig ) The only way I see them doing an MCU CMF would be just random variants and characters not quite popular enough to get their own minifigures in sets or just didn't make the cut. By that I mean Ego or Endgame Cap. Not that it sounds like a bad thing, I just don't think it would be worth a whole CMF giving us basically one and done movie characters and designs we haven't gotten in sets .
  15. Ok thanks, like I said I forget where I heard that rumor before but thats honestly such good news
  16. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I could have sworn there was a rumor going around that Hasbro and Lego came to some agreement where Lego could release Marvel/Star Wars CMFs by January 2021 or something. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong, I know how easy it is to spread false information in this community
  17. You know you gotta hand it to the DC set designers, even though most of the sets seem meh, they sure do know how to make a great looking minifig (Last year's Batman sets being the example in mind)
  18. Easily one of the few DC sets in recent years that is actually completely worth the price tag (plus if you're anything like me you have a deep love for nice location builds) Lego is really blowing everyone's expectations out of the water so far, what with this amazing movie set PLUS the 501st Army set, let's hope they continue this trend with every theme (if a DCEU set looks this amazing just imagine what the comic sets are gonna look like this summer)
  19. You really can't hate Jokerland though Personally, I thought the summer 2019 wave was pretty good for what it was supposed to be (80th Anniversary of Batman and yadayadayada) but yes I agree deeply that we need a new JL wave, even if it means yet another Bat-Mech I'm actually quite interested in what the 2020 sets will turn out to be, the Mobile Bat Base sounds like a cross between the Ultimate Batmobile and that massive Ultra Agents truck from a few years back, and that doesn't sound like a half bad $100 set in my opinion (not to mention we're finally getting Bronze Tiger)
  20. Fingers crossed, I mean I love Batman as much as the next guy but come on 3 Batman waves in a row with basically JL guest stars, it's ridiculous after a while.
  21. It can take up to two years for the process of designing a set to releasing it in stores, and considering it HAS been two years, I find it more likely now than ever. If Batgirl has her new costume from 2018 in these sets then there should be no reason why they can't use the Hush Batsuit. (hopefully they didn't misinterpret Batwoman for Batgirl again) But hey, the First Appearance Batman torso works pretty well if we don't get what we deserve.
  22. Worst case scenario the WW84 set gets officially revealed last minute (a week or so before the actual set hits shelves), they've done this similarly before with the Flintstones set and the Jurassic Park D2C. With the War Machine minifig getting leaked today, it probably won't be long before we atleast get a look at a DC piece design or better descriptions of the sets, since both DC and Marvel sets are coming out in June. Also, just to point out, its been about a year since we got some Summer 2019 Batman set leaks, so I guess its any day now for Summer 2020 leaks (fingers crossed for that Hush Batsuit @MisterBatfleck)
  23. $119.99 if the rumors are true, so don't expect anything massive
  24. Unlikely, but I'm right with you (along with most Lego DC fans) It would be nice to get a small Justice League based wave like January 2015 and January 2018, so I suppose a January 2021 wave would fit into a nice 3 year pattern.
