You’re right in that there will be a lot of people like that (the MandR crowd and the like) but there are definitely a lot of people who really just want the large model and don’t care what minifigs (if any) are included, with realistic expectations. I think the same goes for any UCS set that’s rumored. There are always the teenyboppers making a list of the 20 minifigs that HAVE to be included or their lives will be over, and they probably wouldn’t have bought it anyway. But as a serious afol, I can say with certainty that not all of the Gunship crowd is like this.

I buy UCS for the model, not the figures. Any figures are a bonus. That would include a Republic Gunship. If that’s offensive to you then there’s nothing I can do.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m an afol, and I picked the Gunship because I’ve always loved it and I would love to see a scaled up, highly detailed version of it, I don’t care if it’s minifigure scale or not. I would rather it be bigger to be honest. I don’t care if it includes zero figures, I just love the Republic Gunship and I think it would be spectacular in UCS scale. The Nebulon has never been all that interesting to me. It’s not even about OT vs PT. If an AT-AT had been in the running it would have gotten my vote.

It would be great to get a dress slope in her regular Death Eater outfit for a start, but yes I agree that would be really cool. Except if series 1 is anything to go by, the CMF dress slopes won’t have back printing (and neither will most of the figures for that matter)

As far as I can tell there’s really only one person here who is out of line (I think we all know who, but I’ll leave it to the mods). Debate is natural for things like this, persuasion is natural, giving logical reasons why one would be a better choice than another is natural, it’s all part of the process and it’s nice to see how passionate people are about this. We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t care. Let’s enjoy this rare treat Lego has given us and try to enjoy other perspectives on it. It’s pointless to bite heads off but it’s fun to debate

I would love any one of these to happen to be honest. But a UCS scale Republic Gunship would be a dream come true. Favorite ship in the franchise. The Nebulon would be great but it just has a very uninteresting look to it for me and it would probably be very expensive. I don’t vote for things JUST for being from the OT either. I just never saw the hype about the frigate. The TIE Bomber would be really nice in UCS scale but not as exciting as the Gunship

Honestly I’ll be happy with any of the three options, but the Republic Gunship has always been my favorite ship in Star Wars so I would just love to see it in UCS

Personally I liked last year’s JW sets. The Baryonix was fantastic and I loved the baby Dilophosaurus. And it was also the first Triceratops we’ve actually gotten for the JW theme so that was great. No complaints here. The sets themselves were a bit odd but the Dino’s were great (and that’s really what it’s about). Still can’t believe we haven’t gotten a Brachiosaurus though.

I see that, but I just like to be prepared as fully as possible, so the sooner I know information and the more I know, the better for my budgeting (and the more at ease my wife can be)

Believe me I still haven’t gotten over the loss and tragedy of the LOTR theme. Unbelievable potential thrown in the trash. Move thought the same thing about the polyjuice scene being from second year, because that means they should have short legs, which means no printed medium legs. This is a case where I would be fine with them being inconsistent and giving them medium legs. Then we could just switch them out with short legs for the trio, and still collect several more to make other students with printed medium legs That idea for Fred and George would be great, it’s an easy way to get two versions of each of them

As much as I agree we should have gotten more sword molds for LOTR, I would never want them to withhold new molds for one theme just because another didn’t get them

I honestly think the exclusive book minifigure is going to be a variant of a character we’ve already gotten. Not that I mind at all, the more variants the better, but I just don’t really see them introducing a new character as a book exclusive
