I think that the criticisms and frustration several members have expressed at these sets is more than warranted. An entire wave of sets that look like recycled Ninjago ideas, with builds that do not make sense “in universe”, and only TWO new characters (both of which are d-list alternate reality Spider-Man variants) is beyond disappointing. The ONLY good thing about this wave is the Sandman redesign and Vulture’s wings. Literally every other figure has been done before and done better. Such a waste. Such an incredible waste.

Yeah, I’ve never missed a set since LEGO partnered with Marvel but I’m skipping* this entire wave. What a massive slap in the face to those who’ve been collecting all along. Nothing but variants** and remakes. The rumored sets were infinitely better than this waste of cash. Thousands of characters and we get these!?!? * Might BrickLink Sandman ** Including 2099 and Spider-Gwen

Fair enough, haha. But exactly my point - the Juniors version was good and the Bridge Battle version was perfect. A fifth (or sixth) version is completely unnecessary and a waste of a figure slot. And a second Venom is a complete waste when the figure is (at best) only marginally better than the first.

Why are some of us clamoring for new villains!? Because some fans have been buying every set from the beginning and are getting sick to death of getting variants of the same heroes and villains over and over and over again. Marvel has thousands of characters and we’re getting a fourth Green Goblin (when the last two were fine) and (potentially) a second Miles Morales when the first one was perfect and released within the last 2-3 years. Just two of many, many examples. It’s more than a little frustrating to keep rehashing the same figures... especially ones that no one asked for. Who wanted a second Aunt May!? Waste of a valuable figure slot. Screw another Spider-Man variant. Give me Kingpin, Hydro-Man, literally anyone new!

Been to four Wal-Marts and two Targets with no luck. Really frustrating. Is this a Lego store exclusive?

Yeah, this lack of information is getting absolutely ridiculous. It’s June 1st in the U.S. and the only retailer listing 76109 is Lego shop@home. If it is exclusive (to Lego or another retailer), they need to say so. This company can be so frustrating some times. REALLY not looking to go on a treasure hunt today.
