I am another late to the modular series as well and would certainly love to see a re-release of those sets. Even with parts that are discontinued, I am sure Lego can come up with creative solutions!

My Searchfu is bad. I can't seem to find any topics regarding powering the Tram from 8404 using Power Functions. Does anyone have any idea how we can power the tram without it taking up all the passenger space? Thanks!

Love the look and I agree that we can always do with more coaches. That would return these trains to being truly modular without having us resorting to MOC's which can get expensive owing to hard to come by parts.
