  1. Thank you :-) Yes, it is a bit crafty I admit. I reckon if you just keep droning on and on about Lego to your whole family eventually it will become so ingrained in their brains that they just automatically buy you Lego if they happen to spot it in the shops ;-)
  2. Wow!! I just love it, fantastic work :-)
  3. Hi all I've been lurking around on Eurobricks for a while then suddenly realised I hadn't introduced myself - how rude! So...my name's Kate, I'm 34 years old and I live in West Yorkshire, England. I started playing with Lego when I was a little girl and would spend hours building Lego houses and furniture with a bucket full of very basic blocks and one base plate. If I remember correctly the base plate I had was very thick, not like the really flimsy ones these days, or did I just imagine that?! Then unfortunately I grew up and didn't really touch Lego until one day in 2004 when I went into the Lego shop in Birmingham, whilst visiting my brother who lives down there and spotted a Lego house (4886-Building Bonanza). Now up until this point I had not thought about Lego in years and had no idea they had started making Creator houses or that it had such an adult following. It was like love at first sight, it was amazing. I was instantly sent back in time to the feeling I had as a child building my houses. I had to have it, though the 'social conformity' part of my brain was telling me I was being childish - mostly I ignore that part of me as I think we should all be allowed to retain at least part of our 'inner child' in any way we want to. I spent days torturing myself, I wanted it so badly! Eventually I begged my brother to buy it for me and said I would pay him back. He did one better, he got it for me and said it was an early Christmas present! Since then I have acquired 6 houses and love them all. So I would say my Lego passion is very focused as it's purely houses that I love to build. My goal is to build a haunted mansion from scratch in the future (I love the spooky stuff!) but as I have very little creative talent, it will certainly be a challenge! Eventually I would really like to replicate really nice houses that I see out and about in Lego. Wouldn't it be fantastic if you could earn a living building models of people's own houses to order and they would pay you loads of money for them!!?? (well, I can dream :-) So that's my Lego story and I look forward to chatting and browsing the forums with fellow Lego fans. Thank you for letting me join you :-)
  4. Fantastic, thank you :-)
  5. I know I'm rather late in replying to this but I just wanted to say that this is the most amazing Lego creation I have ever seen! It is exactly the kind of haunted mansion I want to build myself! I currently collect Lego Creator houses as I seem to be obsessed with them! I love the architecture of houses and I used to make my own crude creations when I was a kid in the 80's, when all I had was 2 baseplates and a collection of square/rectangle bricks. I've now re-kindled my love of Lego houses in my 30's (currently trying to restrain myself from buying the rather expensive Town House 4954 on ebay) and one day I want to build my own house from scratch but have no idea where to start as I'm not very creative! I keep wishing that Lego would bring out a Creator Haunted House but the chances of that seem unlikely, but your creation is exactly what I would want them to produce. Did you work from a plan, how did you even start to think about this? It boggles my mind the time and creativity that went into this. Could you offer me any advice of how to start building a copy of this, not that I want to tred on your toes or anything but I just have to build one of these! I would be willing to pay you for any instructions of plans that you have? It's just amazing, you are now my Lego hero :-)
