  1. Hello I have started building lego around a month ago and have done 5 sets, whilst researching on YouTube i have discovered the section of the MOC hobby. Some of the stuff I have looked at looks better than any produced lego set i have seen. I am wondering how one would start to design and go about getting what's required to do such builds. clearly so much thought and preparation goes into this type of work so I know I can't just sit down with a few bricks and wing it. Does any one have any begginer tips on how to go about doing these types of things ? do I need software ? how do i get required bricks ? any advice that can be offered i would greatly appreciate. I'm going to a lego store today many thanks
  2. As I have just started Lego I think it would be interesting to see what you guys loved building for ideas . my favourite so far has been the batman movie lego batcave. it was a surprise as I got it on a good deal and really enjoyed it, it gave me more satisfaction than my old sea village which I was surprised with. apologies for poor grammer I'm on a mobile phone:)
  3. is there any way I can see what figures are rarer than others ?
  4. funny you mention the Saturn as I litrully had the fishing village an that side by side an had to flip a coin and fishing village won! will have a look for a good deal on it
  5. sorry if this is a stupid question but i have litrully just bought and built the sea village and its my fifth ever lego set are you guys just complimenting and discussion the pictures or are you actually putting this set in the scene designed above? apologies for what will seem such a stupid question
  6. is it worth trying to get something that is retired? e.g i love some of the toy story lego however it seems really expensive obviously given its no longer produced and although i like the look of it the main bit i enjoy is building a set so if i pay over £100 i want to be building something for at least half a day
  7. any one recommend a UCS set ? that doesn't brake the bank iv already spent £130 on lego in the last week ha
  8. Hello I have only very recently discovered Lego, at the age of 26 never owned any until my partner got me some star wars Lego (millennium falcon) which i loved. I have since bought the following BB8 model (the one thats on a stand) the old fishing village my partner got me the bb8 model and i recently just picked up the fishing village only because i though it looked cool and it is. My question is what do people tend to do with sets? do you all buy random ones that you think look cool and just have them on a display or should i go with a theme? Can some one explain what the obsession is with mini figures, i have watched a few youtube vids where the youtuber lists their favorite lego set and each one has ended saying there favorite part of Lego is the mini figures. i built the fishing village in around 5 hours and i see value in Lego that takes time to build as thats my favorite part and i dont play with it. id love if some one could recommend some cool sets as i find it a bit overwhelming
