  1. Here is what I did: Doctor Who: Series 6 by Triborough, on Flickr The head is 3626bpx95 the Draco Mafloy head.
  2. Thanks. I thought it was more fun to do this in a purist way even if I did cheat a bit with the modification to the collar. Yeah, she is a big fan of Star Wars and I wanted to reflect that and thought the lightsaber was perfect. She really loved the fact I used a Princess Leia head, too.
  3. I did this up as a goodbye gift for an Episcopal priest I know. She worked with kids and took a position at a school now. It is all stock Lego pieces, save for the collar which was wet sanded white 4073 round plate. Episcopal Priest Lego! by Triborough, on Flickr Episcopal Priest Lego! by Triborough, on Flickr

  7. Just wondering why there was a switch to the flesh heads and hands. I personally find it annoying, especially when I see a head that I want, but it is in the wrong colour. My guess is that it had something to do with the licensed sets, but am wondering if anyone can shed some light on the why and why they don't make all heads in all colours.
  8. I think the typefaces aren't quite right for these.
  9. Maybe keeping the figure the same, but with a new accessory or head.
  10. I am working on a revision to these and adding a Nixon.
  11. I have on occasion found minifig parts co-mingled with stuff in the Pick a Brick wall. Sort of reach in and find something interesting mixed in with stuff. I got a black kepi cap that way. I don't think it is intentional, no doubt some kid dropped it in there. Also, if you ask, you can get I think it is 15 assorted minifig parts for the price of three. This is what I was told at the Lego store in Chicago back in February.
  12. Category B question: With regard to the licensed minifigures, does this mean we cannot use torsos, heads, headgear, weapons and utensils from the licensed minifigs or does it mean we can't create something like a custom Star Wars or Indiana Jones figure. For example, would making a soldier, like those pictured, as a custom minifig using parts from the Toy Story line be acceptable? On Patrol by Triborough, on Flickr Or using a Star Wars head and blaster for your minifig, but not in a Star Wars context, like as a SWAT team member? Flashpoint by Triborough, on Flickr Just want a point of clarification here.
  13. Thanks. I need to go on Bricklink and dig some up eventually.
  14. I did this up a few weeks ago, minifig versions of The Doctor, Amy Pond, Rory Williams, River Song, and Canton Everett Delaware III. I did up a quick and dirty TARDIS and am trying to figure out how to do up a better one. This is all 100% Lego. Doctor Who: Series 6 by Triborough, on Flickr
  15. I have been doing some TV related minifigs, all using genuine Lego parts, and I came up with the Strategic Response Unit from the TV show Flashpoint. I tried using the dark bluish gray legs, like on the show, but it didn't look right. The weapons are an assortment of Star Wars blasters, but they look right. I was also not going to get two more black army helmets, since they are a tad on the expensive side, but they do wear black baseball caps. Flashpoint by Triborough, on Flickr
  16. I use this from my photography kit - a "Rocket Blower".
  17. I was at the Lego Store in the Queens Center Mall today and picked up some series 3 and 4 Collectible Minifigs for $2.99. I then went to the one in Rockefeller Center, about 30 minutes away by subway, and they were $3.49! Strikes me as a bit odd. I should also note that the store in the Queens Center Mall had much much better customer service, plus it was also not a madhouse filled with tourists! 18. Thanks. I would have loved to have added that element, but it wouldn't have fit in the building! It barely fits now.
  19. One of the first MOCs I did when I got back into Lego was a sort of generic modern North American style ambulance. I sort of found it odd that there wasn't one currently on offer. It uses elements from 7890 Ambulance (stretcher and other accessories along with the two side panels with the "star of life" emblem) and 7902 Doctors Car (the "star of life" emblem for the roof), but with 7942 Off Road Fire Rescue serving as the basic design for the cab, much in the way many ambulances, such as the majority of the FDNY EMS fleet, use pickup truck cabs. The two paramedic minifigures are custom kitbashes using the the paramedic from 4857 Doc Ock's Fusion Lab. The result is something that seems a plausible Lego interpretation of a typical North American EMS rig. Of course Lego isn't selling any ambulances any more, so one has to make due! This is the first go round: Paramedics in Action by Triborough, on Flickr Ambulance by Triborough, on Flickr Ambulance by Triboroughhttp://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=new_post&f=9, on Flickr Below is the current revision, which I think works. Just one question - are there doors with windows that would work for the back? Lego Ambulance by Triborough, on Flickr Lego Ambulance by Triborough, on Flickr
  20. Thanks! I actually kept the old fire truck since it does look nice, despite being a bit flimsy. It would be perfect in a parade scene. Plus it is also handy to have in doing something retro.
  21. Thanks. As for the design, I was going for something that sort of looked like the original and sort of looked like a Canada Post Grumman LLV. I really didn't see a good door/hatch option and I didn't think the shutters option would have worked, as on the original.
  22. This is a modern remix of Legoland set 105. I have most of the parts from my original from when I was a kid, but I think it is more fun to give it a more modern take. The minifigure is also of recent vintage and is from set 9348 with an addition of the messenger bag. Lego Canada Post Truck by Triborough, on Flickr Lego Canada Post Truck by Triborough, on Flickr Lego Canada Post Truck by Triborough, on Flickr Lego Canada Post Truck by Triborough, on Flickr I actually like it better than the original!
  23. After a break of many many years, I got back into Lego. The first really big set I got was the Fire Brigade 10197. I was a bit disappointed as the firefighter minifigs were modern, but they had a vintage fire truck. (I was also a bit unhappy they were a bit on the plain side with standard faces.) I fixed this by creating a new crew to man the rig, but in the old school fire torso pattern. The firemen go out on a run by Triborough, on Flickr That went pretty well, but it didn't really satisfy me. So I had the challenge of creating a modern fire truck that would fit in the space. This is what I came up with and is sort of an amalgam of various contemporary North American fire apparatus. It can hold two minifigs in a front seat/back seat arrangement - not ideal, but I wanted to have the same capacity as the other rig. Lego Fire Truck by Triborough, on Flickr Lego Fire Truck by Triborough, on Flickr Lego Fire Truck by Triborough, on Flickr The taillights posed a bit of a problem, as I couldn't get them on the back, but I think I came up with a workable solution.
