  1. But, we needed a scapegoat or the mob will lose its ferocity...
  2. How sad to die so young! My condolences to his family and friends.
  3. A very majestic bird. Congratulations on finding it!
  4. The person above me is anxious for Indiana Jones lego.
  5. According to Wikipedia, a squad is a small group led by a non commissioned officer. A squadron, however, is made up of 3 to 4 companies, which are made up of 3 to 4 platoons. As for the MOC, nice *y* ! The plumes give the soldiers a distinct appearance compared to other armies.
  6. *impressed whistle* Wow! 8-o
  7. Thanks! It took me a little less than a month from concept drawings to finish. As for the matter of Wind God appeasement, let the witch hunt begin! >8-)
  8. Sorry to hijack this thread, but: We found a fleshie! May we burn her?
  9. Cool *y* !! I really laughed when I saw the fifth picture :-D Yay for creative anachronism! Great job *y* !
  10. Awesome *y* !! I *wub* this! I am particularly fond of how you rendered the printed design of peeling plaster and the exposed brickwork in 3D. The roof is fantastic, and I love the drummer!
  11. Thanks to everyone for their comments and compliments!! No, unfortunately :-) It's a Lego set. I was originally going to build a ruin with Mesoamerican architecture. I came up with the idea for a ruined fort instead when I was reading Heart of Darkness. I thought it would provide the island an interesting touch as well for it to have European ruins on it.Essentially, the fort is a testament to the stupidity of earlier colonists :-) It's a standard background from this minifig generator. I really liked them as well *-) Those were my favorite part of the mountain to make.I plan on some day adding more vegetation like vines and palm trees; especially vines.
  12. The cause has gotta be that polymorph on his head.
  13. This my latest MOC, the islander's Mountain Village. I know I could have given it a creative name, but I don't want to :-) First, an introductory story: These islanders have made their home inexplicably upon the rough mountain terrain instead of the lush foothills. At the peak of the mountain rests majestically a solid gold idol of the Wind God, who demands golden sacrifices to prevent a hurricane blowing their village off the mountain's south face. The sole woman of the village is also the village chief, and naturally holds considerable power over her tribesmen. Her secret is the Wind God's Wrath, a horrible black monstrosity of some hard, unknown rock, which rests precariously on the collapsing ruins of outpost left by foreign invaders. The villagers prefer to live in the upper regions of the mountain (so as to be close to their god) but of course clamber down to the rocky shore to catch breakfast. Native warriors guard the gold left for the Wind God from their watchtower. Gold is brought to the Wind God at the summit. The Wind God's Wrath. It is gunned by two warrior-priests. A French sloop of war, spotting the European ruins, decides to investigate. The officers attempt to purchase the natives' land with some shiny plastic blocks. The chief is not impressed. The French attack is basically an excuse to show the mountain's size relative a standard sized Lego ship. Overall, I am not very happy with the vegetation. I wanted to create as natural a look as I could, but I ended up just throwing it anywhere. Advice and criticisms wanted! The Gallery
  14. The person above me is from the place where a fictional or possibly quite real celebrated outlaw may or may not have lived, and is wearing the armor of a samurai.
  15. I know close to nothing about Star Wars, but this looks pretty nice, especially the tree houses. Good job with the camouflage clone trooper *y*
  16. These are excellent *y* ! I love the expression on the "melting guy." You really captured the essence, I think, of hands in particular *y*
  17. Fantastic job *y* ! I can't contemplate how difficult this must have been to paint.
  18. Bravo!! You've done a great job with this *y*
  19. Wow! This is awesome!! The landscape is just incredible, and I love how the flames and the magic energy are rendered X-O ! I also like the tentacled monster and the bats.
  20. It was hard for me to decide, I really liked Hinkley's, Mr Muscle's, Sinner's and Simonwillem's models. I ultimately voted for Mr. Muscle's. Very realistic *y*
  21. Very nice *y* ! I like how the tire treads create texture evocative of fur.
  22. Alright men! I hear there's some fleshies in the license sets! Let's get drunk first, raise some more rabble, and then we'll have at em!
  23. Grim Reaper ON! The new skellie looks so much more natural with the droid arm *y* !
  24. The person above me is or has read a book with "Harry Potter" in the title and will see the Simpsons movie on the same day as me!
  25. Well, what I thought was good about the skeleton tower was a) the figures: I'm especially happy about the wizard and princess. Now, with the wizard's torso I can make the perfect Spanish Inquisition figure. And the princess is hot! Wait, I mean, hot, as in, highly valued. That's right... ;-) And b) the drawbridge. It's good to finally see a working drawbridge! Yay!!! *sweet* The dragon isn't bad either. What I did not like about it was the basically the size and price. The tower is really small. They could have made it wider, taller, fleshed out the inside, fleshed out the upper right tower? And maybe added a winch so that the cage could be raised or lowered. For its size I wish it was cheaper than 50 USD. But it has grown on me. I realized after building it the three bones on each side of the drawbridge are like hands; and it gives the impression the thing is rising up out of the ground. Cool. Not my favorite set ever, but I like it more than some other sets in the same price group. (cough Skull Island cough) Lucky! Glad you got the ship before it disappeared!
