Come on guys, stop flamin the thread, have an open mind. Just because we make truck trials, doesn't mean lego will do so too :P. like i said, lego parts are extremely fragile, the only way this would happen is if lego made aluminium parts which would make thhe rock crawler's price sky high. but if they do, lego will probably make a technic rc unit - which is a very boring build if you ask me

The posts of rock crawlers have been going on long enough! Lego will not make a rock crawler, firstly lego parts are too fragile for high torque - and lego doesn't like to damage parts! Secondly, the only way we would see a rock crawler is if lego made an rc unit like the previous ones which do not use lego axles and gears! THERE WILL BE NO ROCK CRAWLER! Come on guys, they're are other great vehicles lego could come up with ;)

Metal Lego Parts?
SM96UK replied to SM96UK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think companies who make custom parts should position themselves on more known sights like ebay and amazon, there's always that doubt of ordering of those unfamiliar websites :P but honetly, i dont think it would take the challend away either, the challenge would technically be the same -
ahhh, perfect, his sounds really reallllllyy fun!!!! i think i might build a real large helicopter i can position in my garden XD not to much a fan on really large trucks. only problem with a helicopter would be the propellers might sag if they are really long, but if i double them using a turnable i might just be able to pull it off!! keep an eye out for it hehehe

I know unofficial groups make their own custom metal parts but wouldn't it be awesome if lego did their own? sure you guys will say it is an expense, but i wouldn't mind paying some extra pennies for some aluminium u-joints which can withstand a good amount of torque or some aluminium 8-tooth gears... what do you think??

Usually at the beginning of the month Lego usually hint what type of vehicle the following month's compeition will be on on their blog. However, this month there wasn't - or was there.... It came to my attention that the first post of July is about the Unimog!! Its possible that the august comp will be an offroad comp with the chance to win the unimog and also fits in perfectly with the release of the unimog! This is great considering the unimog is quite expensive and is also a much more engaging comp! It also fit in perfectly considering the unimog releases in august! only problem is the unimog is a big set and im not sure TLG will just give it away like that....... anyway, it would be awesome!! what do you think????
