  1. Jungle Expansion Project: Help Needed! Professor Henry Jones stands on the river boat as Indy battles the hungry jungle crocodiles. Unfortunately, Dr. Jone's mind is not on the crocodiles. He has a dilemma that requires the aid of some worthy Jungle Planners. With the additional treasure hunting activity in the nearby jungle, some jungle planning is certainly needed. There is a rumor that a native tribe plans to erect a stone temple within the heart of the jungle. In addition, a small landing field for a cargo plane would certainly help the Indy team. Lastly, more explorers have brought a number of new exploration vehicles including a German WWII jeep and covered truck, an amphibious vehicle, and even a large Russian Jungle Cutter to help create a path through the dense jungle. A road of some kind is needed, not to mention possible train track for the Jungle Adventurers Express. Dr. Jones needs your thoughts on planning a Jungle Expansion Project. Your opinions and ideas can help create the best Jungle Adventure for the Indy Team. Share your thoughts on infusing the four new Temple of the Crystal Skull sets and the future TRU exclusive airplane into TheBrickster's Jungle Adventure scene. Your help is needed.
  2. River Chase is an awesome little set. I think I like it the best of the four sets. Glad you were able to find them at Target.
  3. Thanks for sharing the news TF. I picked up the fours sets yesterday and really enjoying them. I really like River Chase. The camouflage tree tower is awesome! I havn't built the temple yet, but the detail in the vehicles is pretty impressive. I can't believe how long the jungle cutter and amphibious vehicle took me to build.
  4. I've always wanted to see some Gold Panners and Miners.
  5. I think that Lego could "safely" create Confederate soldiers from the historic perspective. And yes, KD, Playmobil had "greys". They did not use the Confederate flag, but they were definately Confederate soldiers. Take a look: I really liked the Playmobil Confederates and some Playmobil fans have created huge battle scenes with both armies. If Lego can design WWII German soldiers for the Indy sets, I think they can get away with Confederate troops since the Civil War was approx. 80 years before WWII.
  6. I think it sells for either $79.99 or $89.99 here in the US - at least I think it was that $ before Walmart told me they can't sell it to me. I compare it to the Orient Expedition Dragon Fortress that sold for $90. I do find that the large sets go on sale after a few months though.
  7. Espionage and World Domination! Interesting topic and a tough question, esp. for someone who's not into either theme. Let me think of a few ideas: - A super secret stealthy headquarters for the Alpha Agents Team, sort of like a cross between a Police HQ and a Batman Cave. - A modified Ogel/Dr. Inferno castle complete with weapons of mass destruction (super laser ray and lots of missiles). Skeletons can guard the towers. - A large U-Boat or Stealthy Submarine for the bad guys (or even the good guys). World domination is not possible without at least one submarine. This is all I could come up with at the moment, but some references you might want to check out include: - The Pink Panther Movies (esp. the one where Chief Inspector Dreyfus is in the German castle - I think it's "The Pink Panther Strikes Again". - Any James Bond Movie - Austin Powers Good luck and let us know what you come up with.
  8. Hello fellow Wild West (WW) fans. I've been a member of EB since 2005. The WW theme brought me out of my long Dark Age Lego collecting era. It was so fun to comb the city looking for all the WW sets a year or two after they retired. I was able to obtain all of them including the Indian sets. My favorite of the collection is probably Gold City Junction followed closely by Bandit's Hideout (the mine set). Some of you on EB recognize my WW avatar, the Phantom Rider, a ghostly cowboy that I introduced as part of my WW Ghost Town Collection, called Grave Stone. I have an interest in WW Ghost Towns as well as history of the WW. My first MOC shared on EB was this stagecoach: I also collect Playmobil Western sets, which are very hard to find; some of the older ones fetching high prices on Ebay. I'm also a big fan of Adventurers, Trains, Castles, and the new Indy sets. I look forward to learning more about the WW fans on the board. Great topic KD!
  9. Neat poll KD. I think I have to go with Confederate Soldiers (which are grey by the way, not brown). The main reason is that we've already had US/Union Troops. It's time for some enemies other than Indians. Then we could also create some Civil War MOCs.
  10. All - definately. I love the new Indy theme. Yes, I've been waiting for them to pop up on Lego SAH. The troll ship looks really slick. I have the complete 2007 Castle Collection (even broke down and got the battle wheel). I may have to complete this line as well - esp. if elves will be introduced later in the year.
  11. Happy belated bday BB! If you lived in my neck of the woods, I'd buy you a beer. Hope you had a great one!
  12. Isn't it sort of fun waiting for them to be released? I'm also looking forward to the Brickmaster exclusive jeep and the Target Indy Plane. I don't usually leave a MOC up very long, even larger dioramas, but the Jungle Scene (that you see in my avatar) has been up a few months now. I was waiting for the new sets. I'm not sure how I will incorporate them, but it will be fun building. I also want to add an airstrip of some kind. I may not have the space though. EDIT: Oh, I also set up this Playmobil Jungle Diorama. You might recognize the backdrop: Well, I told you that I was in Jungle Mode.
  13. I viewed Jake's video after finding the info on BrothersBrick web site. I thought his perception of the AFOL community and how Lego was missing the "Clue Train" was very insightful. Overall, his views and ideas were "right-on track". I enjoyed the story of the CEO, Lawyer, and Production Manager (if I remember the three characters correctly). Jake will do well in any business with his view on knowing the customer. Jake gets in my book!
  14. I'm actually going to go out Thursday to snag them (sort of like how I use to go Star Wars figure hunting).
  15. There's not too many things that excite me anymore (as I get older), but I am looking forward to the new line-up. So, to answer my own question. I've been straighting up my jungle (doing a little dusting) looking forward to adding the new tower from 7625 River Chase, and the other sets. I've also been tickering with some WW MOCs not trying too hard to build anything fancy (don't want to have to break-up something I can't display - while I'm in Jungle-Mode). - My mind on the new Indy sets
  16. Just a humorous poll thread that I thought I'd start while some of us wait for the new Indy sets on May 1. So, as we begin the three day countdown... (clock ticking as the New Year Ball slides down the huge native temple tower), I ask the question: What Have You Been Doing With Yourself? as you wait for the new Indy sets... PS. Hinckley: I'm not sure I want to know what you've been doing?
  17. I have to agree with those of you who said that the log piece would have looked better horizontal. I wonder why Lego did not go that direction (no pun intended)? The grooved 1x2 has vertical on one side, horizontal on the other. Perhaps Lego could have done something similar with the log.
  18. I think the biggest component that the official theme did not include was definately the Steam Train. Even the classic sets included one. Just check this out: The classic set is even nice. Imagine what Lego could have done with a 90s version of a WW train (including figs and accessories). Playmobil had a Steam Train from their WW line-up to: So, I think you are right though. Trains + WW =
  19. Strangely, the story was just intended to describe the various pictures. When I write, I usually build the MOC to the story; not the other way around. Thanks for your comments and appreciation for the peaceful ending.
  20. Wow! It's great to see this many response toward bringing back the Wild West Theme. I didn't think that many of you would vote YES on Q1. I'm still wondering why the large number of "Other" for the question relating to why you like the WW theme. This makes me feel that I've perhaps failed to include an important choice. Yoda: I always enjoy it when you respond to one of my threads/polls (esp. WWW). I feel that it's a good one now (no kidding). -------------- In any case, it's interesting to see the large interest in this WW poll and your individual choices. Let's tell Lego they need to bring it back.
  21. Rupi: I don't think we've met (on EB), but let me welcome you as a fairly new member, and also say that you've designed a very nice WW moc here. I'd like to give you some constructive feedback relating to the overall scene. First, the colors work well. I like the use of white for the building, and brown and grey roof sections. The brown and white windows also look good, and so do the grey shutters. I would not have thought of this combination of colors, but you've pulled it off nicely. The size and shape of the MOC look good as well. It's definately larger than the WW buildings from Lego's line-up, but considering that it's a train station, it's a perfect size. It would look good as an official addition to the actual theme. I really like the lower roof/cover section. The style reminds me of something 007 would construct (SNOT techniques that I don't usually utilize for my own buildings - I'm really a basic builder). I like the shape of the facade on the top of the building as well. It was clever to have added the 1x2 smooth tiles across the top. Nice touch. I also like the accessories esp. the old telegraph pole, the broken wagon, clock, bench, boxes, and barrels. These really add to the overall detail and are a nice touch for a train depot. Lastly, the figs are typical with the addition of the lady sitting down. Creative use of the pieces for her legs - something else I would not have thought of. Comments for Improvement: I only have a couple, but one is the size of the "LOS LEGOS" sign. You did a nice job on the decal, but I think it would look much better if it were larger. In addition, I notice the use of white window panes on one window and brown on the other. Brown looks much better and adds a nice contrast to the white building. Just one question, why the black 1x2 plates on the track? Overall, this is a great scene. It's really neat to see more builders designing WW MOCS as there are just a few of us on EB. Great job as the 1st MOC I've seen from you. Keep of the excellent work! PS. This reminds me of a scene from an old classic called Bad Day at Black Rock. Excellent!
  22. Why don't you consider something different than the Mafia game? Put your creative hat on and see what you can come up with. Remember also, that sometimes people don't always post every day. It's always a challenge with these types of games. If one can make something that anyone can just jump into, it makes it more fun for everyone. Waiting on others to post takes the fun out of the game.
  23. Rhyolite also has an old train station that is still intact. It would be neat to have the bank, the staion, and a spooky ghost train passing by at midnight.
  24. Thanks. I'm still working on my Photoshop skills, but getting better.
