The gun rack is locked. Schmelt sees the key to the cell hanging outside on a nail in the wall, and opens the door. Inside are two small cots and a toilet.

Try .J - Jim - Johnson Rod... -
David climbs the ladder slowly with Hans close behind. After several minutes and steps upward, they begin to see light toward the top of the ladder. A small grated vent (large enough for one to pass through) separates them from the warm sunshine.

The group walk toward the end of Main Street to find the Constable's Office, an incredibly old wodden structure that has definately seen better days. "This was one of the original buildings here in Willoughby", Constable O'Reilly tells, "we never had the heart to break it down - some might even call it a Legend." You step up to the porch as the wood flooring squeaks loudly, and open the front door. Inside is a single small chair and desk, as well as a locked gun cabinet with two rifles. The room is separated by iron bars forming a small two-person cell.

After several minutes of examining the fuel tanker, Austin and Jethro catch up with the hand car, out of breath from the long run. The group decides to lift the handcar off the track placing it past the fuel tanker that blocks the line. Bulldog and Herman begin pumping the hand car slowly as Austin and Jethro start running after again. "Do you think we could have a ride", Austin pleads as he catches his breath. Bulldog starts pumping faster...

The group climbs the staircase carefully before entering the small second floor switch tower. Inside, there appears to be some sort of switching control system. There are seven electronic switches, each numbered with an UP or DOWN switch. Button one is set in the DOWN position. The others (2-7) are set in the UP position. Four large light bulbs are connected to the top of the control system. The two to the left are lit up in red; the two to the right lit up in green. A small "X" is etched in the window next to the control system.

+4 Life Points for Scruffy and Lorraine (oops ) -
Herman, Bulldog, Scruffy, and Jeb anxiously climb off the hand car. They walk over to the fuel tanker to have a closer look. It appears to be an Octan tanker judging by the worn signs attached to each side of the car. (a complete review of 10016 Fuel Tanker can be found in the Trains & Town forum) Herman climbs up the center to have a look inside. Popping the latch, he realizes that the tanker is full, with diesel fuel (less some evaporation). Jeb says, "appears this tanker never made it into Willoughby, or maybe it did and was hidden here for some reason. Perhaps another scheme by the Mayor or his henchmen to keep us from getting out of town". Further investigation of the tanker does not reveal anything special.

Thanks guys - that's nice of you to say. -
Herman can not stand the excitement any longer and flings Scooby's Scruffy's kettle toward the yellow switch lever. He hits the lever perfectly causing the switch track to move to the right. The out-of-control handcar goes whizzing by the sign which you think may have been turned, after looking back at it. The hand car travels a pretty good distance before slowing down gradually along a level field. A fuel tanker can be seen on the tracks in the distance, before the handcar comes to a complete stop. "Wow! that was close", Herman says, "I think I may have wet my pants."

She's obvioulsy hot for him. But the mystery is that Schmelt really has his eyes on Jim. All that close inspecting, touching, and looking... Everytime Jim says, "I'm going to feel the XXX", it's really a code word for Schmelt. EDIT: Let's put it on the old cryptometer: Sorry - I just had to! -
Walking out of the office, you sneakily turn the doorknob to the other office. It's locked.

Jeb looks up into the sky, almost as if hearing a voice in his head. "I remember that show", he says, "think his name was Austin - Major Steve Austin".

Sorry for not including Austin on the hand car. When Herman said the "three of us", I don't know why I was NOT thinking Austin. In any case, things may or may not work out for the better. -
The tunnel continues leading into darkness...
