I'm hoping that they made the Bat using the needed black pieces for the regular Tumbler. That way if you wanted you could just buy two sets in order to have all three.

Did they have the new Echo Base set?

I wonder how long it will take the Naboo Figher to makes it's way to the States. I'm a bit worried it may be like Mace Windu's JSF and have a long delay getting here. No reason to suspect that other than it's not out yet, just a bit concerned since that's a fav of mine. I certainly don't consider it despicable (if they can charge more and have people pay it more power to them). I just wonder why they always wait a couple days after they hit to raise the prices. I'm not complaining about that, just seems odd they wouldn't have the markup already loaded into the system.

Went back to TRU today and they had already raised the prices. Just checked the site and they're higher there now as well. Falcon - $149.99 (usd) Frigate - $129.99 Podracers - $94.99 Infiltrator - $74.99 Sith Nightspeeder - $26.99 Ewok Attack - $26.99 Geonosian Fighter - $32.99 Neither of the TRUs I've found them at have had the Echo Base set (now 94.99 on TRU.com) or the Naboo fighter.

I just reread this and realized I was mistaken...I did NOT see the new Naboo Fighter or the Hoth set. There may have been tags for them though, I was pretty excited about the Falcon so I may have missed them. Sorry for the mistake!

Saw a report on Rebelscum that they were in the states and sure enough, called my TRU (St Louis, MO) and they had them. I'm now the proud owner of 7965! All the prices matched what TRU.com had last week, including the infiltrator for 69.99.

The Falcon and Podracers are now set up on TRU.com in the US. Podracers are in stock but the Falcon is sold out. Grrr...listed as in stock earlier but the link didn't go anywhere. When I checked it again it was gone. Boo!

Hmm...still can't tell what's up with the Falcon's landing gear. I like the the look of them, but if they are stuck there all the time that's going to bug me. At first I was hoping they could be folded up, if only a little, but those pics on brickhorizon don't seem to indicate that. Plus, the connections look they're inside the hull so they might not be easily taken off either. That would be a major hindrance to the swooshing I plan on doing with this bad boy. Hrm...

There are a couple ratings on the lego shop page for 7965, one with a short write up and a few pics. Not a full review but I was glad to read some initial thoughts on it.

This set was an easy pass until I read your review. Don't have any CW stuff yet so a nice new Ani that can double for a movie one is great to me. Didn't think much of the speeder but it looks pretty decent in your pics. Thanks for the review!

The store I found them at is going through a remodel, there were several non-lego items on clearance for half off as well. My guess is that this particular store won't be carrying those 2 POTC sets after the remodel/reset so they wanted to move them out quickly (which they did, went back today and those 2 items tere wiped out). On a side note, since Target price matches I took the TRU ad in today and had them take 20% off the QAR. They still charge the SRP so I got it for $104 after tax.

I bought this and the AT-AT during the SW day sale, after they arrived yesterday I stayed up late to put this one together. I'm probably not the most qualified to give an opinion (this is only the 3rd Lego set I've put together as an adult) but I really like this. It's a nice scale, not so small I feel I'm getting ripped off but not so large that I couldn't fly it around the house if I wanted to (LOL). As mentioned the wings take quite a while to deploy but I still like the feature. Better than the options Hasbro has given us IMO. The extra figs are nice but without weapons they're kinda meh. The only real gripe I have with this is the color choice. Not sure why a few years ago Lego felt the need to brighten up these vehicles (black and blue Tie Fighters?) but other than that I'm very happy with this set. I may keep an eye out for a couple more sets on the cheap so I can have Wedge and Biggs along for the ride. Oh, and a couple little things that really sold me on this set...the choice of making it Red 2, 3 or 5, and the view screen brick (STAY ON TARGET!).
