    Smashr Mech

Awesome mech, the colour scheme is great, as the yellow goes very well with the dark bley. Excellent!
  3. Hi folks, This new project of mine (which will be continued in the form of an actual diorama) came into realization when I purchased my fifth copy of the set 5981(I grew very fond of that set^^). Now i had enough torsos to do a little doodling, and in combination with the CM Series 3 Space Villain helmets and some skeleton heads came to the following result. I proudly present to you: Blacktron3: The Scourge of the Universe Enjoy!
  4. Good layout, expertly done details (OMG, the grass! Look at the GRASS!), nice figs. Plus an awesomely designed house. Well done. 'nuff said.
  5. The build is quite lovely, the details are done right (and those legs effing ROCK!), and I even think I can name your main inspirational source (my guess would be the character Nightmare from the Soul beat'em up series). What I don't like about the MOC is the head - compared to the quite elaborate body structure, it's way too plain and small - and the colour scheme. It mostly looks awesome (especially on the feet), but on other parts I think you overdid the shading. Perhaps a more streamlined colour scheme would work better. Concluding, this is a piece of awesomeness. Well done, good sir, well done.
  6. The tanks are nice, actually they look like straight out of one of the old Command & Conquer games.
  7. Lovely microbuild. Maybe you should exchange the light bley dishes for red ones, which would go well with the red feet. And I sincerely suggest to do an entire army of those guys. They would surely look cool in a city vignette or diorama.
  8. Lovely rendition. My favourite part of this MOC is actually the ship's hull, especially nicely done angles and the colour combination. The only thing that strikes me as odd is the red part around the rocket launchers. It's definitely a nice colourful accent to the uniform style of the ship, but I would still use another colour that goes better with the rest of the scheme (Sand Red, if possible?)
  9. I'm definitely going to do a ship for them, maybe even this year. Any suggestion for a colour scheme? Also, I'm trying to include fifth member to the theme. Any ideas what he should look like?
  10. Hi, As promised, here's the teaser vig I've been working on lately. It will later be part of a bigger diorama, but for, I will let you ponder upon the question why the scout sports such a worried look. C+C, and guesses are welcome. Zyniker
  11. Hi, As promised, here comes my SP3 Police Team. [Pic file of the whole team in Tactical Anti-Ballistic Suits (TABS) Standard Armor, armed with BFG-3000 proton rifles] Now onwards to the single officers. Officer Jeremiah "Jadd" Jameson He's the leader of the team Theta-0076. His favorite pastimes are Bourbon and ExploCricket. Despite his serious exterior he might be the goofiest of the team character-wise and gets easily distracted when outside of missions. Officer Kathrina "Thundercat" Keyne The ginger woman is easily the weirdest member of the team. Although she never seems to really lose her temper, Kathrina has a fearful reputation amongst criminal for giving more than one evildoer the opportunity (or the need) to go see the cyberdoc. In her leisure time, she thouroughly enjoys wrestling matches. Officer Alejandro Diego "Herbert" or "Herbs" Sanchez Although he always sports a smile, Diego's reputation of taking his Job absolutely serious is legendary among the entire Space Police Force. When not on duty, he is said to be collecting tranStamps. Foreign Relations Officer Na'aavi'ra The Lunarian is called Vira for short. Although humanoid in shape, her race actually originated on on the Giant Moon of Albion, from there they spread throughout the galaxy. As a hobby, she goes Space Hiking and cyberJumping. Enjoy them, and c+c as always^^! Zyniker
  12. I definitely like this customization, because it keeps the LEGO style (as in "This could come from an actual set") and still is something completely original. The Lovecraftian look of the fig is expertly done, and it is one of the finest figs I have seen in a while. I LOVE the background story, because it channels several SciFi/Horror Stories from the beginning of the genre. It is at the same time trashy, tasteful and funny. Thumbs up. The vignette looks cool. I especially like the plants behind the windows. They actually look quite menacing, once you get into the story. Yeah, I totally like the story, why do you ask?
  13. @charlieboy: Yep, indeed it is. I simply cut off the eye tentacle. I personally love the figs of the SP3 theme, as the uniform just rocks and the alien figs are lovely pieces of design (also, modern Blacktron Torso!!!). I might need to pick up some sets of this line next month, before it completely goes out of store.
  14. Hi, I did some minifigs in the last week and just wanted to show my first attempts. Here they are: The Lich The Steampunk Heroine The Ctulhuloid (the only fig with minor customization works) The Terminator On the weekend, I will present my Space Police 3 Team with background stories and a teaser vig to a larger diorama I'm working on. C+C, and brick on! Zyniker
  15. Thanks for the very nice feedback. And hi Decalé^^ Yes, at the moment I have to work with what little LEGO I have acquired via eBay and the local stores, but next week I get the cance to pick up my old collection. I will then begin to go through it and sort it roughly into figures, big parts, bricks, small parts and Bionicle (still one of my favourite lines). Then I hope I can do better shoulders and arms.
  16. Cool SNOTwork, and I really like the railgun, although I don't think you should fire that thing while flying around...
  17. Hi folks, finished another MOC this weekend and felt like showing it around. Like the title tells you, it's a suit strictly designed for labour, but the pilot maybe just had a bad day, so he ended up with his boss' car (with his boss inside) in its claw. Enjoy! It fits a whole minifig, is quite posable and has a three-way opening chassis. C+C, please! Greetz, Zyniker
  18. The two themes I regret missing are Batman and some Creator Sets, otherwise I'm fine with the themes around now. I only regret that Star Wars sets are really expensive, because now I need another source to get bley and dark bley bricks^^ EDIT: Oh, and of course Collectible Minifigures Series 1! Zombie, d*mmit!
  19. I think Fallingwater looks better and seems to be the more pleasant build, so IMO you should get that one first.
  20. Got some sets yesterday (finally!), and they are really as funny as I thought. Good builds, good figs, awesome pieces in brilliant colours. Right now, I'm planning to modify the Jetcopter into a bulkier version, as it looks very flat.
  21. What a brilliant rendition. I once played th game MechCommander and have since been a great fan of Western style mechs, as the tend to look more like war machines and less like ballet dancers. Exactly how did you do the joints on the legs? I am very curious, as currently I have two mech MOC projects which suffer from severe leg problems.
  22. The colour scheme reminds me of the GUNDAM shows of the 90s. Goes well with the form of the build. Maybe as an idea, you could try to buil a 2.0 version of this and give it a modern look?
  23. Recently read the book, but haven't seen the show yet. I always envisioned the outside landscape to be covered by snow. Funny. Nontheless, great rendition.
  24. Great MOC, only one complaint: The Minifig! Ripley is not a soft, girly character, she is a strong woman, quite capable of defending herself and others that surround her. Indeed, upon watching the movie for the first time, me and my sister were jokingly calling her "Womb of Steel" :D. Try to find a more BAMF look for her. Perhaps even try a fleshie skin tone. Here is some quite good example of a Ripley fig: Otherwise, you don't feel like sharing the instructions for this sweet thing, don't you?
  25. To date, I have exclusively build for myself. The problemsolving abilities needed in Lego MOCs help me to concentrate and relax at the same time. I like it when I can focus my mind on a single purpose, thinking about nothing other than the solution for the next problem. The results are mostly mere byproducts which get scrapped almost immediately for the next project, but sometimes I come up with something that is worth displaying. I really like space and robotic MOCs, as they have great possibilities for intricate details. Plus, I'm somewhat starting to get into (purist?) minifig modding. Within a year or so, I'd like to be able to do vignettes to, and as a premise I want to be able to customise the shown characters. That's it for me, mostly. Have a nice day^^.
