-
JULY: Football (Soccer) World Cup is under way. I hope to see Holland in the final but unfortunately I didn't have correct parts in orange. Referee clearly sees something I don't but thats part of football culture, right? Enjoy the games, I will.

JUNE: Summer is here! Scene of someone jumping in a lake came to my mind first. White calendar numbers in columns made finnish birch trees. Ok finally this group of two men and two women sort of brings "lake Bodom murders" up...since I live close to this infamous lake. This scene is from the early evening (with the midnight sun) when all was ok. Next morning only one of the guys were alive. (can you find a knife from the picture?) Have a nice summer!

Late update, more Easterish... Our LUG exhibition went well again. This Model Expo is combined with Children Expo and attracts more than 45 000 visitors. Our LEGO booth is one of the highlights. Here is a to video run around our main table, thanks to Hovinet group. Now I have to start with MAY (4th).

MARCH: Little googleing and March actually originates from Roman god of war: MARS. Well just completed tv-series Spartacus from Netflix and I came up with this:

Hello all, decided to tune my LEGO calendar. Done this few times last year. I thought that putting up topic would force me to do it monthly. JANUARY: Really little snow in southern Finland but really cold month. Hoth was on my mind daily. FEBRUARY: Yes, the Movie. Waiting for it like no other. Unfortunately only dubbed version coming out, but they can't ruin it since it is LEGO anyway. Santa's head is from my maxifigures. Should open a topic on those some day. Lets see what March brings.

Hello, maybe someone can help what shops/hypermarket chains are best to buy lego in Czech? (in Brno to be accurate) I know they don't have brand store there but since basic price level is propably lower than in Finland I am curious. Thank you in advance if someone has useful knowledge.

Hi all, I did tune up my calendar for May: Plan is to build Tie-fighter today with my son. I welcome all to post your May 4th pictures and plans to this topic. And when carrying your MOCs; May Clutch Powers be with you.

Thank you, it seems I have to clarify. This log sauna is next to a lake. Lakes are frozen over this time of a year in Finland. We drill and saw a hole in ice. After warming up in sauna we dip ourselves in the lake (which is about +2 degrees). This really makes your system going. Only place hot is inside sauna. Sorry no girls in this one, it's "boys night out" -finn style... Check out all those "meanwhile in Finland" videos from Youtube to get real deal.

Thank you for all comments! I just recently took this down and here are some inside pics: "Harlem Shake" Sauna:

Yes we finns actually enjoy our "summer gottages" also in winter. This MOC was made for our LUG "Palikkatakomo" winter competition and took silver. Hope you enjoy this glimpse of finnish tradition with sauna +80 degrees, beer +6, outside temperature -15 and water +2 degrees Celcius. Then one in real snow: One from Hoth... Thank you for your intrest.

Thank you for comments. It seems that people "down under" can better relate to this image and colors. I myself am happy with the color of the sea which was based on white plates under trans blue. Most energy in thinking was used in deciding how to make the change between above and under waterline. Adding PF lights under water made the trick, ok its bit too dark under there based on depth but ok in my opinion.

Our LUG "Palikkatakomo" had a summer competition. Only rules were that the MOC should relate to summer some way and size maximum 32x32 studs. I had this beach image in my head for a long time. It all started with a wave and a surfer: "Bill is a novice surfer and finally catches a good wave, unfortunately rock pier is closing way too fast." Rest of the beach needed some action: "The Pattersons are just arriving, Gloria and her daughter Fiona investigating a crayfish. Joe jr and Joe sr with the ball and mrs Joe enjoying the sun on her towel." "Senior lifeguard David Leghoff in his tower watching over everything. Junior lifeguard G.T. rushing to the pier anticipating problems in the water. Kite surfer James in trouble with a strong gust of wind, exiting the picture soon." But all the time I wanted to do something under water too: "Big brother Mac have noticed a suspicious shadow underwater and shouts an alarm. Brother Don hurries out of the water." "Diver William feels that he is on top of the food chain while harpooning the fish... how wrong can he be." I had a lot of fun planning this MOC listening Beach Boys music :) Building was done in bit of hurry but I made the deadline for the competition. I was really happy to hear this evening that this MOC won the comp so hopefully you enjoy it too, thanks for viewing. More pics in FLICKR

My thought exactly, when I found the face and combined it with Jack Sparrow! The copter was build in little hurry, and yes its a bit too militarish but got the job done. Maybe "the Skulls" are a military band?
