  1. I completely agree with that, we also don't get to see much civvillian things in the pirates theme so it helps balance out the ratio when dealing with pirates.
  2. Nice MOC indeed, I love the drunk sitting next to the barrell tap, it made me chuckle
  3. Welcome to Eurobricks YodaMan24, I'm new to this forum myself. Hope this finds you well
  4. I watched the 1981 release of Arthur last night, just to get me in the zone for the new one
  5. Thank you for your kind welcome and your help earlier with my display name debacle Turns out the set I bought from ebay didn't have the box, they'd mentioned there was no instructions, but now it turns out no box It also came with random pieces so now I'm not sure if I have the earlier set or the legends set. Its defo not 1989 as the cannons have the cross cannon stamp on top, so its either going to be the 1992 build or the 2002 build but I have no way of knowing which one it is. The picture was of the 1989 box and they titled it LEGO 6285 Black Seas Barracuda Pirate Ship Classic Set, but I have my doubts I'm sure we will, I've seen that blog many times, it's actually the site that brought me to this forum Is there anyway to tell the difference, other than set pieces, between the original BSB to the rerelease of 2002? Ah brilliant, I hadn't even noticed that before, I usually look at peoples countries when they are provided, are there many of us? I think the deals may be very scarce, the only one I can remember was the daily record/toys r us one last year Although I'm hoping they do something for the potc release. I pre ordered the potc LEGO video game on the wii from Game Stop in the States so I could get my hands on the Jack Sparrow voodoo doll figure, just incase they don't offer us it over here. If you're planning on purchasing the game and want the minifigure i'd go there, shipping is fairly cheap, and thanks to me their website now accepts UK postcodes Thank you for your hearty welcome, I look forward to chatting with you around here about our Scottish deals on offer and the banter that is sure to come with the arrival of Jack and his motley crew Thank you. Yeah it made me smile too, most things LEGO seem to bring a smile to my face Thank you all for your welcome, I can see this is going to be a lot of fun
  6. Done! by far the shortest survey I have ever taken
  7. Erdbeereis, Big Cam, Thank you so much for your help. It's always the small things like this that really make you feel welcome and at home and yeah my sign in name was always Keybobs, I just added the extra s to my display name by mistake in my haste to get on board Thank you once again
  8. Hello community, I'm from Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland and like almost everyone in the world I loved Lego as a child. I've recently returned to this great hobby after pirates came out in 2009, walked past Brickbeards Bounty and it stopped me in my tracks!. I am currently trying to collect sets from the Pirates theme, I just love Pirates, you have no idea, it's almost abnormal the love I have for the theme. I'm starting a personal prject to try and collect all the sets from 1989 to present, just recieved the 1989 Black Seas Barracuda in the post this afternoon, needs a good scrub in the tub tho I'm really pleased that there is such a healthy community of lego fans out there and now I don't feel like such a nerd Look forward to being an active member of this community in the future, hope you are all doing well today. - Keybobs
  9. Thank you very much
  10. I will do if it hasn't been done by the time they arrive As far as I know there is nothing in any UK stores, certainly not here in Edinburgh anyways hence spending a fortune on shipping from the states stupid I know as it will be out really soon, but I just couldn't wait the inner child was screaming like a kid in a candy store to get em asap!
  11. I'm having QAR and Whitecap Bay sent via Express Mail from the States, although I think there are alreay pictures/reviews of them already up, but i'll get pics up if no one has done so by the time they arrive, although I think thats highly unlikely
  12. I realise that you have to be a certain grade to change your name etc, but I'm wondering if an admin could be nice enough to do it for me You see, I'm actually not looking to change my name really, My username is Keybobs, it's my actual nickname and has been for the last 15 years, it will never change and so regardless of what title I may be lucky enough to gain in the future my name will always be the same! HOWEVER! It appears that I have been a bit too eager to sign up and in the excitement I have double tapped the s key on my laptop whilst putting in my Display name I'm wondering if it would be possible to change my display name to my actual username, from Keybobss to Keybobs? Please forgive my idiocy, it shan't happen again! best thing about making mistakes is it gives you something more to learn
  13. It is an expensive set, but when I got it I was really surprised at the amount of detail it contained within. In my honest opinion I think this set on its own without any modifications works well within the pirates setting, obviously amending it to fit pirates alone is even better. Out of all the sets I have recently bought new, other than the Imperial Ship, this one gave me the greatest amount of pleasure building and exploring. It atcually reminded me of port royal from the potc film a lot. Kept looking out for "Mr Smith"
  14. I have just recently returned to my love of Lego but already I have read many of the reviews on this site and they have been very informative and have developed an even greater degree of interest for me in various sets. Having just returned, I do not have many sets apart from all the 2009 pirate theme sets and the 2010 Imperial ship. I have also just purchased the 1989 Black Seas Barracuda (6285), 1994 Enchanted Island (6278), Whitecap Bay (4194), Queen Annes' Revenge (4195) and Jack Sparrow (30132), all of which are being shipped from the US so will be a while before I get them. I'm planning a project to collect all the pirate sets circulated from 1989 to present so I am sure in the future I will be able to give reviews on items that need them. It would be great to come on board and take advantage of such a worthy resource like this
  15. Just bought QAR and Whitecap Bay from BL. Put £40/$65 aside for shipping, so I hope it comes fairly soon
