  1. Dude ! As a fellow belgian, and a lover of the 12V train era ... Please adopt me ! Please ! I'd be a good kid, I swear ! Even if I'm older than you ! But man, 3 times the 7760 ! And the 7740 ! And the 7745 ! All those trains my parents and my pocket money couldn't buy me ... Raaaaaaah ! Adopt me !!! ;-)
  2. Excellent, thanks to all who answered. I knew there had to be another name for that stuff ... I know what to order next :) Thanks a lot, Petzi
  3. Hi team, I'm looking for a solution in building side handrails for a train. Seems that the easiest would be to use classic hose, like every one (see 7750 for instance). But on BL, there are only a few available, and thus prices are high. Is this sometimes available from S@H, or does it have another name on BL ? Cheers, Petzi
  4. In fact, someone did. And I'm sure there are many more (I remember seeing an LDD rendering in all colors). http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107166 Enjoy !
  5. has no status

  6. A tiny collection for me : One 7810 from my childhood One 4512 On the Moc side : A red version of the 7760 (don't want to pay the high price for the blue windows) A diesel engine that is too ugly to keep A first version of a belgian 41 serie autorail ( still not satisfied with the front and the windows) Early version of a belgian 77 shunter, still need to find some bricks And one day, I'll get myself those trains I couldn't afford when I was young : the 7740 and 7745. But I have another expansive hobby, I'm a wannabe pro sound engainer. Nos those toys cost an arm and leg, and don't leave me much of a budget for bricks :)
  7. The tent is nice. And that pine tree is gorgeous ! I love the top Now, just for all of us, please make sure you create a complete building instruction of the whole landscape once you're done ! "Oh God, the page 19807 shows that I made a mistake at page 5609, I have to remove all those 20.567 bricks and restart from there"
  8. Like everyone else, I just can't wait to see the finished product. It'll be interesting to see the whole stuff with all the little lights on. Where will you put the train ?
  9. MaydayArtist ... when I was a kid (centuries ago), and TLC started making the green plates, I thought of making a super cool forest (using loads of spruce trees), with grey plates for the main path, and using green plates to make the surface a little bumpy. Looks like you realized my dream (expect about 10^bazillion times bigger and better than I could imagine) !!! I'm drooling at the quality so far. Those who don't get their hands on bricks can't even think of how complex it is to make something this great ! Quick question from a I-need-more-bricks-too guy ... You just buy random bulk Lego offers on eBay, but what do you do with the uninteresting pieces for your project (like train parts, bionicles, ...) ? Keep them for future projects, or resell them back on eBay ?
  10. Catty, The two 7740 are fantastic (ok, the mail by rail is a 7740, don't deny it ) ! Maybe because I have always dreamt of owning one Excellent work !
  11. Currently listening to "All's well that ends well" by Mr Steve Lukather. As good as Toto albums...
  12. Skiddy : ex-Anderlecht (but worked for years in Ixelles, ULB campus). Now moved to the shiny province of Hainaut (close to Nivelles).
  13. Hi Skiddy, New member too :D From the "vote for me" post, you seem to be from Brussels. Mind sharing what commune ? (I'm an ex-Brussels dweller, before moving to another province ) Petzi
  14. My best lucky finding was ages ago (by that time, we were still playing basketball with boulders). Early 80s, I was 9 or 10, and as every year, my hometown held its traditional "flea market for kids". I bought a random bag of several kg of miscellaneous bricks there, sold by some kid, for 100BEF (2.5€). Turns out that amongst all the bricks, it contained the complete yellow castle. It still happily shines on my shelf, more than 30 years later
  15. Dear Eurobrickers, Allow me to introduce myself... My name is Petzi (French translation for "Rasmus Klumpf"). Got introduced to the fantastic world of Lego when I was 6, and since then, I kept buying bricks and kept them all in the best state possible. I'll turn 40 in a couple of weeks, and most of my first sets are still good looking and proudly displayed in my office I really got back into the little bricks a few years ago (I even was a Belug's member, #50 or #51 IIRC), but the latest addition to our family took away all the free time I had left, with no time to build (don't believe what you hear : the time needed to take care of kids depends on their number; not in a linear way, but more in an exponential one). Anyway, my last one is now 6, and starts drooling when he looks at my collection of old sets. I thus opened the doors of the shelf, and put the sets back into their original function : toys ! My son loves them all. My dad used to have a whole room filled with a Marklïn HO display, so you can easily guess where my heart is I am first rebuilding old trains with the help of bricklink, and will move to MOC trains very soon. Some of the trains I saw here are really inspiring And as I missed the end of 9V, and couldn't pile up rails and motors, have been pretty happy with recent news from ME-Models Cheers, Petzi PS: Regarding other stuff I do in my life : I'm the guy your ISP calls when their network is down, I'm a musician, a sound engineer in the making, I swim a lot (hope to participate in 800m free style national competition at the end of the year). Did I say already that I have a very limited supply of free time ?
