Anybody here attending Brickfair?
Bob Kojima replied to drdesignz's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'll be at BrickFair this year. My wife is going to BrickWolrd. we should have a Technic meet up and a Technic draft at BrickFair. I had a blast hanging out with Paul and Randy in 2012. i have not built anything for a while so i don't have anything to bring, and it is always a toss up between bringing shirts or mocs. the shirts always win. bob -
New Akiyuki GBC
Bob Kojima replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The mechanism behind how this works is truly amazing! i'm glad the video showed some behind the scene prototyping. the fact that there is no NXT and no sensors, making this a brainless mechanism is really cool. at first i was wondering how it knew there was a ball there and that it should lift it up, then i saw how it worked. very smart solution. the stuff Akiyuki makes always amazes me! bob -
Parts Unique to THIS Set Only
Bob Kojima replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
oh sorry did not mean to make it sound like there were glaring issues. i think it is more like inventories might be missing from Rebrickable. this part 6526 is only listed 1 time on Rebrickable and 9 times on Bricklink. bob -
Parts Unique to THIS Set Only
Bob Kojima replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
only in 1 set ever. http://www.bong69.com/site/media/dl/onlyInOneSetEver.txt i cleaned up some of the noise. and noticed some errors. i'm blaming it on the database. bob -
Parts Unique to THIS Set Only
Bob Kojima replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
here is the list of unique LEGO parts. all 14674 of them. Thanks goes to Rebrickable for making the data available to crunch on. http://www.bong69.co...ueLEGOparts.txt it was taking too long to load into mysql so i wrote a PHP script to sort and find all the unique parts. i do not guarantee the accuracy of this list, but some of the things i checked were correct. it really all depends on the correctness of the set inventories. bob -

My first GBC
Bob Kojima replied to Bob Kojima's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
this allows you to use the worm gear: and the 16 tooth gear: to get a faster gear ratio. bob Thanks Philo! yes the lift is from my rolling ball clock. just taller. the video was posted before the photos. is it not working? bo i was going to loop and wind the track all around but the tube is to soft and does not hold curves very well. it does straight very good, so i just went with that. bob -
This is my first GBC module. I will be taking it to BrickCon in Seattle next weekend. i spent around 3 days working on it and just finished it up last night. my son helped a lot and i even got my wife to help put together some of the repetitive sub assemblies. This is the first non-set thing i have built in a long time! life has been so busy, i'm surprised i found the time to build it. i really wanted something to take and show off at BrickCon. one of my helpers The lift motor i got lazy and used a znaps flex axle to power the ball stirrer top of the ball lift the track splits into 2 tracks at the top. direction changer. i did not want to cut the tubing. wanted it to be one continuous piece.
