Another tidbit from SDCC. I spoke to a Hasbro Star Wars designer, and he said there would be no "Force Friday" this year., which I bring up because I've seen some posts saying Rogue One or the new DS might come out then. I would assume no Force Friday - which I interpreted as no big coordinated release day like TFA, not no sets in Sept - means the same for Lego as well. (I don't remember the release dates he gave me for Hasbro SW figures, but I believe the motorized AT-ACT is coming out late September, with more figures in November. The AT-ACT also made me think that maybe the reason TLG didn't have an AT-AT out at the same time is that there might be an AT-ACT in an upcoming Rogue One wave). A couple people have stated definitively that the price for the new DS is $500. I'm wondering if there's a source for that, since the Lego employee at the Comic-Con booth I talked to said $400 (my recollection or hearing could be wrong). She definitely said enclosed though. I never thought of asking whether that could mean a half shell, although at that price I could (sadly) see it possible.

I bring news from SDCC, where I spoke to a Lego employee. The bad news: according to her, there will be no SW reveals. Not unexpected, as I don't remember their beings ones at past SDCCs. The good news: when I looked disappointed, the woman asked me what I'd been hoping for. I mentioned the upcoming Death Star, and she grew animated. "It's great!" she said. I asked if it would be enclosed, as that's what's held me off from building the old DS I have. She told me it would, but that it would open up to reveal play features like 10188. "But it's expensive". I asked her how expensive, and she said $400, although she didn't seem 100% certain. I was relieved. $400 isn't nothing, but after reading rumors about $500 and seeing SW Lego inflation, I expected more, In retrospect I wish I had asked more questions, but I felt I was taking up her time and didn't want to get her in trouble. (She never said I couldn't repeat this, but I never asked:). I realize I don't post much here so the accuracy of this info may be questioned. Mostly I don't post because I don't have any special access to rumors, and I try not to clutter up the board because I get frustrated myself going through pages and pages without new info. But...I'm a comics professional who has been attending SDCC for 14 years. My screen name is my real name, so you can Google me. If you go to my Instagram @marksable, you can see pics at least proving I'm here at Comic-Con. That doesn't mean I didn't mishear or misunderstand what I was told, or that the Lego employee isn't misinformed. But I don't see why she would lie to me. Anyway, hope I was able to share something cool. My excitement for the new DS is definitely high.

Question - Lego Shop @ Home is listing sets like The Battle of Takodana available as of January 1st (and I believe the Carbon Freeze Chamber on Dec 26th) Does anyone know if that means they'll be available in Lego stores in the States on January 1st, or only online sales? (New Year's Day can be deadly trying to hit a mall or shopping center as that's when many people return stuff, so would not like to venture out if I don't have to. But really want some of the figures in the above mentioned set). (Hope this is on topic) Oh, and AmazingBricks. Please post the summer list! While I tend to lurk more than post, I read this forum every day and share your frustration over the spoiler wars, debates over pricing etc. I really think sharing the list would inject some much needed actual rumors/holiday happiness here, and might change the tone of the conversation. (Personally, I'm dying to know exactly what's in the UCS Hoth Set, what kind of Death Star we're getting and whether an AT-ST will be released this year...and when those products will come out) In the meantime, thanks for the hints:)

Hit Target in Los Angeles (West Hollywood) this morning - they didn't have a midnight opening so I got there just prior to their 8AM opening. Only about 20 or so people in line. All the Hasbro stuff sold out fast - either they had a low stock to begin with or some things were put aside though. After an hour though, every TFA Lego set was still there. Question about the Millennium Falcon. I have an older version from before 2011 - it had Hoth versions of the minifigs, so I'm guessing it's 4504? How does the new version compare to that?

Also, I should not that here in the U.S., Amazon.com has all TFA Lego sets (as of this writing). I ordered Poe's X-Wing, the Transporter and Kylo's Shuttle (still thinking about the Tie...I've spent so much, there's only so much room in my apt. and...$70 seems expensive for a Tie Fighter). If you're a Prime member, you should get free 2 day shipping (and if you want to pay more next day shipping), so I should have my sets by Sunday. The fact Amazon has had the sets in stock for an hour has me hoping that the feared shortage won't be a problem. I'm in Los Angeles, and I hear there's 200 people in the Toys'R'Us line (in Los Feliz). Happy to wait a few days and not deal with the crowds, the potential of not getting anything and TRU's markup. My only disappointments were not being able to find a Hasbro Tie fighter or BB8 set, or the Sphero remote control BB8. If anyone sees them anywhere online for retail please let me know. Good luck to everyone...May The Force (Awakens) Be With You! (Now, if only we could get some details on that Echo Base...)

Bendu, can you ask your source if the freeze chamber is part of a planned modular Bespin wave?

At SDCC One thing I'll say about the Sith Infiltrator is that in person, it's HUGE. Much bigger than I would have expected, closer to a Star Desriyer than a Tie Fighter. Whether that justifies the price point is not something for me to say. So far the only TFA stuff I've seen is Habro's 6 inch Stormtroopers and an enormous 26 inch new generation Tie Fighter for the 6inch scale figures that I found impressive in both scale and design. There is still a space for a Star Wars Lego reveal at the booth as of Fri afternoon. I'll try to post some pics when I can, hard enough to keep the phone charged. (In the meantime you can check out my Instagram @marksable and have permission to post the toys stuff there, just credit me)

I'm quite frankly a little concerned about what the release of the Ewok Village might presage for Lego Star Wars in the next year or two before Rebels & the Sequel Trilogy. What I mean is...I had high hopes that we'd see either a Cloud City or a Mos Eisley set at or near this scale. Given that there hasn't been a SW Lego playset of this size since The Death Star...I fear it might take at least that long - if ever - before Lego visits Mos Eisley, Bespin or Yavin. It's hard to imagine Lego having TWO massive SW play sets on the shelves at the same time. ( i don't count Multipke UCS sets b/c they seem aimed at a different audience..only AFOzks as opposed to playsets which target kids and adults) Although I guess if we see overlap between the Death Star and Ewok Village that might be a good sign. Any thoughts? Also, I too wonder if the Ewok Village is the last SW set for 2013. I'd be surprised if there isn't something revealed at Comic-Con (which I'll be at and try to report from) And I'm ver curious what 2014 will bring for the Original Trilogy. This seemed to be the year for ROTJ, so will 2014 mean a rest back to A New Hope, a mix of Eps IV - VI. Or something else entirely...?

First, wanted to thank everyone who responded to this. I'm thinking of either getting 8038 on eBay, or waiting to see if there's a new AT-ST produced in the near(ish) future. Which leads me to my next question... Do you think the Ewok Village makes a new AT-ST more or less likely? I thought there might be one as an accessory to the village (I know they already included one with the Endor battle in 8038, but as someone pointed out that hasn't stopped Lego from including multiple snowspeeders in Hoth packs). On the one hand a solitary walker would be a great complimentary set to the village...on the other I can see the village being the climax to Endor (and maybe ROTJ) for the foreseeable future.

Was just wondering what the consensus was on the best AT-ST that lego has produced (for mini-figs, not UCS). And do we think there will be a new one soon, either stand-alone or w/the Ewok Village?

I never owned one but it was on shelves very briefly, I was told by a lego store employee that this was due to some design defect. Perhaps someone else here knows more or could correct me on that @outworldet - that super star destroyer is amazing!

Thanks everyone! 7667 is more affordable than 7659...I'll have to see if I can notice the difference between the new and old Stormtroopers. I do hope we see a Cloud City set, I'd buy that with or without Stormtroopers. I remember speaking to a Lego store employee last year who was convinced we'd see a new Slave I after the design problems with the last evidently forced Lego to pull it from the shelves, so Bespin would make sense to pair with it (unless it's Jango's). Regardless...lots of good ideas here.

I recently bought some new Star Wars sets - the new X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Jabba's Palace and Desert Skiff set to go along with the old sets I own - Sandcrawler, Millenium Falcon, B-Wing and Star Destroyer. ( I also own a Death Star, but it's too massive to display in the space I currently have, so it's remaining in its box for the foreseeable future). The new sets are great, but they are lacking one thing; Imperial Stormtroopers. Worse, it doesn't seem like any currently available sets feature them. There are a couple Tatooine and Hoth sets that have sand- and Snow- troopers, but as far as I can tell the only sets offering true Stormtroopers are an Endor battle pack (one stormtrooper & 3 other figures) and the aforementioned Massive, expensive Death Star. Am I missing a set that's currently available at retail? Is there a good discontinued set that I can get Stormtroopers with at a reasonable price? Do we think there will be something coming out in the near future (fall, holidays or early 2014?) that might have more than one trooper? I guess what I'm asking is what's my best bet if I'd like to get some Stormtroopers, ideally new and for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance. Mark
