  1. I'll go with the Royal King's Castle. It actually looks like a Castle and not some cheap immitation to the Black Gates of Mordor... LOL!
  2. I can't wait to get these new knights. I need a faction to represent my Russians (Kievan Rus)! :D
  3. One of the best looking Castles I've seen! Tons of purple there.
  4. I think it's possible we can see Vikings in some other incarnation in the future. If there is a new Castle them after "Castle 2007" then we might have Vikings or Viking-Like warriors as an enemy.
  5. Lego can create a Sky Scrapper set! Make it either an apartment builing or a small office type building with many uses such as different floors for different companies, not to mention a high-rise hotel. Lets say the "sky scrapper" is a 10-storey building... here's several examples of what it can be. For example: Apartment - why not? Im sure the Lego minifigs would need a place to live right? Being a form of house, it should have some playability. Each floor can be occupied by different people, families, and what not. Put in an elevator or two along with a staircase. These can fit in a set built on two 32x16 baseplates. 1st floor = lobby level with offices and maintinance 2nd floor = where the single college guy lives 3rd floor = where the single college girl lives 4th floor = where a married couple lives 5th floor = where a married couple with 1 child (baby) lives 6th floor = where an elderly couple lives 7th floor = where a family of 2 children (small, short legs) lives 8th floor = where a family with 2 children (teens, regular legs) lives 9th floor = where the art-student lives 10th floor = where the business man lives roof-level stairway access, can be used by anyone... ---------------------- Office Building - you have 10 floors... on a building constructed on top of two 32x16 baseplates, so that you can have hinged bricks on the side for it to open. You can make elevators in here too. 1st floor = street level lobby 2nd floor = restaurant 3rd floor = cafe, and small shops 4th floor = Clinic 5th floor = City-Maintinance/Construction offices 6th floor = Racers offices 7th floor = Airline offices 8th floor = Octan offices 9th floor = Train offices 10th floor = Ships offices roof-level helicopter landing pad ---------------------- Hotel - again, 10 floors.... the first several floors will have the playability. Again, built on top of two 32x16 baseplates. 1st floor = street level lobby 2nd floor = small shops and cafe 3rd floor = restaurant 4th floor = exercise/fitness room and spa 5th floor = in-door swimming pool 6th floor = two hotel rooms 7th floor = two hotel rooms 8th floor = two hotel rooms 9th floor = hotel suite 10th floor = hotel suite roof-level helicopter landing pad
  6. Republicans, Democrats, whatever... *n* Thats why I belong to no political party because my own person views differs greatly from those guys. My own values are closer to the Universal Humanitarianism or Unitarian Universalist. Since they have no political party here in the US, I ain't voting ever. :P -------- Besides....
  7. Im just wondering who else here makes Lego stories. You know, stories with illustrations using Lego as the characters. I commonly see this amongst Castle fans, but rarely in the other themes. As for me, Im making my own story. I've made some posts about it in http://www.Classic-Castle.com . However, it's not limited to the medieval era.
  8. Just keep yourselves posted on whats coming up on GateWorld.net. They say they're making 2 TV and direct to DVD movies for the Ori storyline to climax. Whether this is a closing or a turn of the tide... Im not sure. But one thing is for sure they seem to be headed for a 3rd series. Perhaps a new enemy that isn't too powerful?
  9. :-| Did you know that there are different TYPES of guns that civilians are allowed use -vs- those allowed to use by the military and police force? Not to mention the different bullets. I think you people need to do some further research into these things rather than just shooting off. Otherwise you will be NO BETTER than those... "uninformed individuals" in America who decide that Indians = Arab = Muslim = Terrorist. Do some further research, please. Knowledge is the greatest power anyone can have.
  10. I just view the BrickTestament as more of a satire of sorts and making a LITERAL interpretation of what is said in the Bible. Or at least it's English version. As for that pic, whoever made it clearly was out to insult Muslims. Nothing more than a showcase of prejudice by using elements that the majority of the Western world would see as "bad".
  11. Season 10 for SG-1, and Season 3 for Atlantis are starting on July 14th I think. BTW, the guys at MGM are now thinking of a 3rd incarnation aka 2nd spin-off of a StarGate series. The 2nd spinoff is supposed to follow up after the second StarGate theatre movie.
  12. DISGUSTING!!! Clone Bricks! I shall muster my Lego army to defend all Lego-dom from this invasion of the heathens!!!
  13. *vader* NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *vader*
  14. They should really bring back the minifig packs. All we get now are Magnets and Keychains. Although you can still part those out, it's no where near as good as real minifigs.
  15. Awesome looking helicopter! I agree with some others that it'll look better in dark gray, or if you can collect enough parts... in dark green.
  16. Why? The Kahilawayans have always had a boxy architecture. Go into my signature link labelled: "My BrickShelf Gallery" at the bottom of my posts, and see them. Not to mention that the simple design was meant for other Lego builders such as yourself to construct one without having to buy any specialized parts. (except for the "Control Crystal" if you don't have those jewel pieces) 1x2s bricks 1x4s bricks 2x3s bricks 2x12 plates {or two 2x6 plates} 6x8 plates {or two 4x6 plates} Thats all you need to build the gate itself. The "Dialing Device" is made up of: 2x2 radar dish (one) jewel (one) 4x4 plate (one) 1x1 round-bricks (four) 1x1 round-plates (thirteen) 1x2 bricks (three) 1x2 plate w/ single stud in middle (one) 1x1 brick with light holder (two)
  17. I just had an idea to expand the StarGate concept I borrowed and modified for my own themes, and adapt it into a community project that any AFOL can do. Think of CastleWorld but with a more efficient means of "travel" for the characters. However, unlike CastleWorld this is not theme specific. It can link Town to Castle to Space to Pirates to whatever else. And anyone who wishes to participate in the community project has to have built their own SkyGate and must conform to the standardized design. The SkyGate itself, unlike the TV show's StarGate, is shaped more like a stone-arch instead of a metal ring for several reasons: 1) It's supposed to be the basis of inspiration for younger cultures like Japan, Celts/Druids and Rome to build their Shinto Gates, Stone megaliths, and Triumphal Arches. 2) The simple design will enable just about any Lego fan to construct their own SkyGate. 3) It's meant to look simple and unassuming. It is an advanced piece of technology, guised in a primitive design. The parts used for the SkyGate are the following: Bricks 1x2 (a lot) 1x4 (a lot) 2x3 (32) Plates 2x12 (4) 6x8 (2) Or you can use any parts that have the same effect as the ones listed above. The colors can vary as long as it looks like its made from somekind of stone. And although I haven't placed it with the 3 initial pics as of yet, it has a control device with 13 tiles, 12 are 1x1tiles, and 1 is 1x2 which works as the activator. The reason for this is that the Kahilawayans use base-12 math. These pieces are also important as your Knights, Space-Marines, City government, or whatever else... will need a way to activate the SkyGate and connect to the system/network. Anyway, here's the pics and the gate is guarded by Kahilawayan super-soldiers. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...ngit-bakud1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...ngit-bakud2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...ngit-bakud3.jpg These pics has the control device on the right side of the SkyGate arch. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...ngit-bakud4.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...ngit-bakud5.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...ngit-bakud6.jpg Gallery whem modified: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=175896 Anyhow, I plan to get some trans-lightblue, trans-clear, and trans-blue 1x2 bricks so I can make that "wormwhole" or "puddle" effect like in StarGate. The MOC its itself is still a WIP and is under some redesign to expand the archway as well as add the staple "black & gray" Kahilawayan colors. I want larger things to fit through... like small fighters. I just wanted to let everyone hear about my new Community Project idea. PS: The Malayan (Filipino) words "Langit Bakud" translates as "Sky Gate". Although Langit also means Heavens, I used Sky instead as it has no religious connotation. But if your medieval villagers wants to call the Kahilawayan built device as "Heaven's Portal"... thats ok too. :)
  18. AWESOME! I like how you made the Uruk-Hai swords.
  19. I recommend watching StarGate: SG-1 over Atlantis. Atlantis is OK, IMO, but SG-1 is still far far superior. I think that Atlantis' main function as a series in in the end, it'll to bring the Atlantis City-Ship to Earth. The Wraith... as interesting as the "Space-Vampires" are, they are no more advanced than the Goa'uld. Now the Ori, THAT is a powerful evil and a true enemy.
  20. That was Moebius 1 & 2, it was a rerun of a Season 8 episode. It was one of those "time travel" episodes. The Puddle Jumper is a shuttle type craft that the Ancients built. The Ancients are the most advanced civilization in the SG universe, and are supposed to have hit the apex of technology... They were the builders of the StarGates. The finale for the 9th season was about 2 weeks ago (3/10); OMG, what a finale that was!!! WOW! This episode defined just how powerful the new enemy is. But then again, they should be that powerful considering who and what they are... ("evil" versions of the Ancients). July will start the 10th season. Anyhow, StarGate is set in the modern day and they have an angle in the show itself that this is supposed to be a secret govt. program in real life. The 100th episode kinda jabs at this angle the show has, by having a so-called TV show about exploring the universe through a star gate and they called it "Wormhole Extreme". I imagine they'll do something thats actually monumental, rather than spoof-like for the upcoming 200th esisode in the 10th season. WARNING SPOILERS: Anyone who clicks on this will be viewing a clip of the last 6mins of the Seaon 9 finale (ep. #20). I managed to win over new StarGate fans by showing off this clip. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=a6TKo99...F2D21E3B8538FE6
  21. Salamat / Spasiba (Russian) / Thanks! Anyhow, I don't have close-ups of the Mandirigma (Warrior), as the Kaharian regulars and elites, as well as the other faction's infantry are still in development with regard to their design. Oh and there's a strong Necromonger, Kull Warrior/Super-Soldier, Jaffa, and Ori Warrior influence in their design. Think of Space Knights, but dressed in Asiatic style armor. Obviously advanced armor coupled with personal energy-shields.
  22. Thanks! I will admit that the design is partly influenced by StarGate was well as the NecroMongers from Riddick. I found the "flying building" design of starships to be very unique. I've only seen the Basilica Ships from Riddick, the Goa'uld Ha'Taks, and the Ancient Atlantis-Class Cityships. However, it has NOTHING to do with the Sumerians/Bablyonians or any Middle-Eastern civilizations. The words Im using to name these ships are taken from the Malayan language branch. Specifically the languages spoken in: Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, and my homeland the Philippines. Although I've named them mostly using words from the Tagalog (Filipino) language. As I said, the Kaharian faction's ships are designed with the Southeast Asian architecural design as these were the lands they occupied before most of them left. Think of Angkor Wat and Borobodur... You should also refer to these pics of... Angkor Wat (in Cambodia) - where I got the spire design. http://www.maj.com/gallery/EliteMangudai/A.../angkor_wat.jpg Borobodur (in Java island of Indonesia) - where I got the pyramid/ziggurat-like design. http://www.maj.com/gallery/EliteMangudai/A...y/borobudur.jpg Then look here for which parts I took in terms of the spire's design. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...wat_compare.jpg This spire design will a part part on ALL of the Kaharian vessels. Here's "concept MOC" of a wall section from what was supposed to be a part of a "Lungsod-Proa" (trans. City-Ship). However, due to some resizing... this design is too small and will be demolished and recreated. So I'll just have to enlarge the spire/dome again.... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...1_city-ship.jpg
  23. Im just wondering if there's anyone else here who is both a Lego fan and a fan of the StarGate franchise. Im, one! :D
  24. I think this can go in either Castle or Space considering the timeline involved. The Digmaan-Bangka is a fighter/shuttle craft of the Kaharian (ka-ha-ree-an) faction of the Kahilawayans. The other two factions have their own small craft of similar function and role, but are of different designs. The entire Kahilawayan civilization traces it roots back to what we now call Southeast Asia, but left the planet after a devastating civil war that ended in the near annihilation of their protege civilization, the Atlanteans. They realized that they grew too powerful to be around the younger less developed & primitive tribes on Earth around 12,000 BC. So they left all of the surviving Atlanteans along with a few of their own as the guardians of civilization on our world. The Kaharians (translation: "Imperials") are the largest and most powerful of the 3 factions. The other two are called Mangatiwala (trans: "The Believers"), and the Bagolupang (trans: "New Lands"). The Kaharian ships are designed to resemble pagodas, temples, fortresses, citadels. and even fortified cities. The Digmaan-Bangkas in particular were made to resemble their old pagodas on Earth. These designs blend in better with the surroundings as they resemble buildings instead of something other worldly. The Kaharians typically come in contact with less advanced civilizations when arriving in other planets as well as coming into contact with the less advanced cultures of their fellow human tribes in Earth. These designs makes their presence less obivous. One can only speculate the consequences of these "buildings" coming down from the heavens and landing in a primitive farming village's wheat field. Not to mention the "god-like" appearance of dress, technology, knowledge, and etc. of the ship's pilots. What impressions could such a sight make on the primitive mind? Anyhow, here are some work-in-progress pics of the Digmaan-Bangka (war-boat) and I still have to place the shields (doors), decor, interior control room, hyperdrive engines, cargo hold, top spire, bottom platform hull, and the 4 weapons arrays: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...maan-bangka.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...aan-bangka1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...aan-bangka2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...aan-bangka3.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...aan-bangka4.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/EliteMan...aan-bangka5.jpg Gallery after moderation: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=170260
