  1. Great review. I just finished building the set and agree with your conclusions. Ollivander's was a boring and didn't feel right, but the other two buildings are fantastic. The one thing I noticed when building the roof of Ollivander's was that the blue roof tiles actually were inconsistently dyed. I had four that were a deeper blue than the rest. I don't mind as it adds a bit more texture but wondered if anyone else found this
  2. Ordered one from S&H on Friday, now to wait for it to arrive. I wanted to order 3, but decided to be good and only got the one Lots of building in my future, just got the Passenger Train and now I have Maersk Train order along with Diagon Alley. Don't know when I'll find time.
  3. This is my server in a box. In the back there is a generator. in the front a full server with removable hard drives.
  4. I really want LEGO to introduce a utilities subtheme. This could include - Power plants (solar, gas, hydro) - Substations - Utility Trucks (they have some of these already) - Sewage Plant - Pump Station - Recycling facility I know that this is never going to happen since utilities don't have a big play factor, but I would really appreciate some services to support a growing LEGO metropolis.
  5. The Maersk train will be my first Lego Train purchase, so I don't know what is required to add PF to it. However I was wondering, if I were to buy the Passenger Train ($99) off of BL, would the PF parts from that be equivalent to buying all the recommended PF parts separately? From what I could tell the motor and IR controller/receiver are the same, but a different, non-rechargable battery box is included with the Passenger Train. This seems more cost effective to me as I would get a second train that could be used for parts to build extra rail cars for the same cost a buying the required PF parts separately.
  6. I am wishing I had picked up Cafe Corner, but it came out just as I was coming out of the dark ages and wasn't quite up for committing to that large of a set. And now I doubt I'll ever get it as the BrickLink prices are quite high. However I, like you, combine all my pieces for sets I disassemble, so rebuilding Green Grocer and the like will take a huge time commitment in just locating the pieces.
  7. I am very disappointed in the Canadian pricing. Even with the Canadian dollar higher than the American we are getting a higher markup than they gave us on the Maersk Container ship ($119 US, $139 Cnd). Yet for the train is is still $119 US, but $159 Cnd. I really hope that is a typo in the release. I will be buying two of them regardless, but may have to look into sourcing them from the US.
  8. I don't know about the content of the book, but you can get it for around $45 from abebooks.com.
