  1. I also printed part last week. This was made our older 3d printer. Print is pretty coarse, but thicker protrusion makes the piece more rigid. I will make smoother print for better appearance. This was just test to see will it be strong enough to carry some impact forces. The fit was perfect for my standarts at first try. Pins are little bit stiffer than normally, but can be assembled just by using fingers. In conclusion i was very satisfied for the part. I made cube with 15l liftarms and bigger L-shaped liftarms and attached my gopro inside. After five drops from the tabel part is still undamaged.
  2. I have made similar supports under some of the sets. I use normal lego bricks and plates to achive normal ride height. I noticed the problem when I added 10220 to 8109's flatbed. After couple of months axles and some liftarms were bent, but now they are reverted at normal position.
  3. LA's give more challenge at the building process, that's why I like them better. I don't need any directly to LA installed motors etc. IMHO I like more of those creations that use very few motors. Best part is always making the power drive lines. But if you want to take the easy way, then use the pneumatics.
  4. I have ordered all needed pieces for my mocs directly from LEGO, and mainly always cheaper than bricklink. Usually the biggest diffirence comes from the shipping which is very cheap at LEGO. And best of all I can be sure that all parts are new and genuine parts. First order was paid with my credit card, all other I paid with depit card. So my feedback is extremely positive.
  5. Needs some kind of shock absorbers :) mayby those so wanted pneumatic parts could do the job.
  6. Can I get a link to the video? Eb-mobile doesn't show videos correct...
  7. I'm missing 8480 8289 8063 8457 8274 8436 mayby someday my collection is complete :)
  8. Even though I mainly dislike mercedes-benz, I have been thinking of building this: It's MB G 6x6 AMG
  9. I hope that flagship isn't another boring supercar... We have had those allready and still the 8880 is the best one of them all...
  10. Thanks TasV, I keep that in mind! I'm still missing material cartridges so I am not able of printing anything. I have couple files already for tests what I have done with our old 3d-printer. Only problem with those were that the look of the parts were awful. I had then only white abs and the printing quality was far from satisfying. But durability was good if the part was printed in correct way. New machine should make totally smooth surface even in transparent colors.
  11. At work I just finished assembly of 3D-printer which should be capable of making fully production quality parts. I'm eager to see how well it will manage with bricks. For sure I know that printing method is diffirent than shapeways.
  12. I could not agree more. I haven't found any extremely bad sets. Closer study always reveals some nice bits in every set... edit. but still i'm not great fan of bionicle and other those kind of sets...
  13. My x-mas was superb! Unfortunately my computer broke down also so no picture upload until now, but I let the picture speak for itself. My wife and my mom bought for me new 9398, MISB 8421 and total surprise 8851 in opened box but all parts still in original sealed plastic bags! with vent holes! Including all instructions and 80's leaflets.
  14. Lego should stop making these 4x4 or trucks with diffs in both rear axles... :D because always when these sets pop out to market, we get same kind of thread about drivetrain problems :D and please, take this post with bit of humor! I'm nobody to tell what to post, but quick peek in thread archive of drivetrain problems might help in first hand. Ofcourse the structure is diffirent in every set, but you can always apply the information in troupleshooting.
  15. This is great! I prefer this kind of building techniques better than putting dozens of motors inside and covering it all with bricks and panels. Some minor things which I would still work on is gearing down some functions to get more power and less speed. Overall this is awsome moc, that last axle with steering and single wheels is big bonus and touch of realism.
  16. WOW! I want one too, because I already own the real version of it! First ever project which I supported in cuusoo.
  17. Great review! I finished my own yesterday and I must say what a machine! It's large, highly detailled and it has functions! I was so excited cause I'm big fan of technics. Only consern is that I found out that I had more "extra" pieces than you... :D Now I'm wondering where those are going... I tried to be so precise as possible. But my nerves were cracking cause I was also filming my first time lapse building video. Camera kept this annoying beebing sound during my build. I also discovered that if you stretch those blue rubber bands over those rims they stay better. If you just roll them on, those bands will go and stay warped, and will pop out more easily. Plans for building Snoopy in the cockpit are on their way :D
  18. Mayby I call there tomorrow and order all of those tow trucks :D
  19. I just bought one new in a box from a shop near by for 120euros. I think 140 for used one is quite a lot, there were more left if somebody else want's too... I thought I could by couple more next time when I visit that shop. I have url if someone want's, it's only finnish thought.
  20. I would also go with the 8258. I think it is awesome set, and when the time comes when you actually want one for your self more than anything else it will be extremely pricey. Then your gal won't be happy... belive me, I know...
  21. I have done some tests with those few spare parts which I have, and thats why I added those plates with studs on the ramps and fenders for better grip and increasing friction. Middle frame is only two studs thick, but I tried to create box-shaped capsular structure in the middle, for best posible torsional stifness and rigidity. I haven't done any strength calculations about legos but I will improve it if it shows some weaknesses. :)
  22. Those instructions are bit difficult because I noticed that LDD doesn't automaticly do them correct. Goose neck is fixed, I considered that it's either detachable goose neck or tilting ramps, I choosed the ramps. Chains are placed there only temporarely, because there is rack in 8258. But if I would not have drawn them there I would have forgotten to order them :D
  23. Nice truck, I realy like those curve sections at the exhaust pipes. How well that chrome plating will remain in those blocks if they are in use?
