  1. Damn i knew i forgot something :/ Yeah that brick is pretty awesome :)
  2. Nice. Those are pretty cool =D
  3. A couple of months ago i purchased one for around $1800 though a reseller who had two sets left i stock (their last set is now at priced at $4500). I don't regret paying $1800. It is a beautiful set and there is +25 hours of building.
  4. Thanks! There is only a few bricks in the whole set. The plates makes the brick count higher and it gives more details and it feels more like a real brick wall, but i know what you mean =)
  5. Nice =D After purchasing UCS Millennium Falcon a couple of months ago The Effel Tower and the Statue of Liberty is the only two sets i REALLY want now.
  6. This is f*cking awesome =D
  7. 210010 - Robie House Set Name: 21010 Robie House Theme: Architecture Released: 2011 Pieces: 2276 Minifigs: 0 Price: $199.99/1699.00DKK/169.00GBP/€199.99 I set out to buy the remanning LEGO Architecture that I needed for my collection of them all. Unfortunately was the Copenhagen LEGO Store out of both Sears Tower, Guggenheim Museum and Burj Khalifa, but they had just gotten Robie House and Brandenburg Gate. So I picked up the set I could use. Box: For a set with over 2000 bricks, the box is actually very small. It only measures 28x48x7cm (11x18.8x2.7inch). The box is heavy and it is filled to the max with bricks, it goes well with the new 'smaller box' idea. As I have said before, I really like the way these boxes are. Manual: This manual is big! Instead of using multiple manuals like most +1000 bricks sets there is only one. I like it but LEGO failed hard making this one. Fallingwater got the bet manual ever, the spiral back makes it perfect. I was disappointed to see Farnsworth House without a spiral back and I was expecting Robie House I have one. But it does not. Because the manual is almost 1.5cm (0.6inch) thick I wrote to LEGO complaining about this. Haven’t gotten a response yet. (The macbook is 15”, just for comparison) (Manual compared to Fallingwater) As you can see it is really hard to see what is near the back of the manual. Parts: There is a lot. Because the box is not that big, the brick count seems too much ;) The brick that almost is all of the house is a standard 1x2plate in beautiful dark red. There is 771 of them. It is insane. I was surprised that there wasn’t more transparent bricks. It does not look like a lot, but there is 245 1x1. Build: The build start out pretty good and somewhat challenging. The stand is 3 plates high and because of that it is build very different from the rest of the Architecture sets. (this image just won't rotate right...) One thing I hate is the many 1x1 tiles... they are impossible to align correct. Luckily there is not that many in this set compared to Farnsworth House, which was a living hell. Once you get over the initial stand build it becomes somewhat repetitive. All the 771 1x2 plates now needs to be stacked and that takes time :) A nice touch is the three garages. The cars from Tower Bridges actually fits quite well :D There is some quite nice doors. Rating: Build: 7/10 - The build is a bit repetitive but nothing that gets boring. Design: 9/10 - The design is very good. There is not interior like Farnsworth House but the house it a match. Parts: 8/10 - More dark green plates and a lot of dark red bricks. There is many different pieces and the brick count is high. Playability: 0/10 - This set is not for playing but a set you need to have on display. Although you can play with the small cars, if you got some ;) Price: 8/10 - It is an expensive set. But the price vs the brick count is awesome for an Architecture set. Total: 7/10 - This set is really good. Even if you aren’t really into the Architecture sets this is still a +2000 brick set. Hope you enjoyed the review!
  8. I would like to join. It would be nice to improve me 'review' skills =)
  9. Add me to the pile of people very likely to come =)
  10. wow this set looks awesome!
  11. There should only be made about 300-310.
  12. Nope. It is single side print.
  13. 3300005 - Mini Nyhavn Set Name: 3300005 Mini Nyhavn Theme: Promotional Released: 2011 Pieces: 56 Minifigs: 0 Price: Buy for more than 199DKK and get it free. (Only available April 9th 2011) Friday and Saturday this week (8-9th of April 2011) the LEGO store in Copenhagen is having its grand opening. On Friday you got a t-shirt but on Saturday you got this special mini model of the famous Nyhavn (New Harbor) in Copenhagen. Box: You didn't actually get a box nor did you get a polybag but it was in a regular ziplock plastic bag. This kind of bag is the same kind as you get replacements in. Manual: Just a normal A4 size piece of pager. Nothing special. Bricks: This is the best part of the set. You get some really cool new bricks. You might think it is just another set with stickers but no. This is new PRINTED bricks! I was very surprised to see this but it shows us that LEGO is moving the right way, concerning stickers. Build: A straight forward build. You start by building the harbor and then the buildings and the ship. Leftovers: With a set this small i wasn't counting on any leftovers but there was a surprising 10 bricks left. Rating: Build: 8/10 - Few bricks but still a fun build and it shows just how much you can do with 56 bricks! Design: 10/10 - The design is really good. If you have been to Nyhavn you will recognize this set. It is not a particular building but just the way it is made reminds you of the place. Parts: 10/10 - 9 New and printed bricks. That is just awesome. Playability: 0/10 - This set is not for playing but a set you need to have on display. Price: 10/10 - Well if was free =) Total: 9/10 - A really cool set that shows an iconic place in Copenhagen.
  14. That is a really good idea! I will have to rebuild it today and try that! =) I agree. It is not as iconic as some of the other buildings but the building itself is an architectural gem. So simple and yet so beautiful. I really like to do reviews, it is just rare that i find a set that don't have one =D
  15. Get this set or Fallingwater! I have only seen great interest from architects in this theme. I am glad you like the review =D I was trying to align them correctly at the beginning but skipped it and just placed them. When looking at the set from most angles it is impossible to see if they are aligned or not. If you have other sets from the theme then i think it would be a shame to pass on this set. It is truly a great building.
  16. It is not a custom plate. It is just my shadow while taking the picture =P The base is made of 12 dark green 6x10 plates. If you look at the actual building i think the 1x1 brick works pretty good. They could have done it your way since it is not supporting any part of the building.
  17. Thanks for telling me! I had the wrong image url posted (to the original images) it is fixed now with the right size of 800x600.
  18. @Ace-man That sucks! Cant you find another place to buy your LEGO? or buy a whole box so you are sure to get them all =) I just opened a box of 60 and this is what i got: 5x Werewolf 5x Punk Rocker 5x Sailor 4x Artist 4x Soccer Player 4x The Monster 4x Kimono Girl 4x Street Skater 4x Surfer Girl 4x Hazmat Guy 3x Lawn Gnome 3x Hockey Player 3x Ice Skater 3x Musketeer 3x Viking 2x Crazy Scientist I was hoping for more scientist even though i knew they where rare.
  19. 21009 - Farnsworth House Set Name: 21009 Farnsworth House Theme: Architecture Released: 2011 Pieces: 534 Minifigs: 0 Price: $59.99/549.95DKK I was visiting the LEGO brand store in Copenhagen today and was surprised to see this set on the shelve. I was not expecting to see it for another couple of week. From the image at LEGO's website i had guessed it was the Farnsworth House so it was not a big surprise. Box: The box is not very big, 20x26x7cm, but it is thicker than normal boxes. When you open it the is packed with bricks and that goes well with the new 'smaller box' idea. It opens up like the Fallingwater box and only have one sticker to keep it closed. I like the way these boxes are. Manual: I was hoping for a spiral back manual like Fallingwater but instead it was a normal glued back. There is 9 pages with information about the house and the architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Build: The build was pretty straight forward. Nothing hard, expect there is 238 1x1 tiles... It looks really nice at the picture but it is really hard to place them so they are aligned correctly. You start by building the base. Then move on to the patio and then the house itself. Rating: Build: 5/10 - Because of all the small 1x1 tiles the build become very boring at some point. Design: 10/10 - The design is mind blowing. The designer Adam Reed Tucker is extremely good with all the small details and the interior is perfect. Parts: 8/10 - It is really nice with 12 dark green plates and there are many good white parts and a lot of different tiles. Playability: 0/10 - This set is not for playing but a set you need to have on display. Price: 8/10 - I haven't really though of the price. The architecture sets are expensive but the design and display value makes it worth it. Total: 9/10 - This set is really awesome. I have alway liked architecture and this set is just blowing me away. I though Fallingwater was awesome but this is way better! Post updated with much better image quality!
  20. Awesome model! Do you have a digital version? (ldd or other) Or maybe some more detailed images? I would very much like to make one too!
  21. Yeah. In some countries you can call their customer service and order parts. (the same place you can get replacement parts) The shipping can be slow depending on how many bricks you need. I am not sure of the price since i couldn't get the parts i wanted.
  22. I just called LEGO Direct to order some figs, but all their figs with flesh hands are from licensed sets and cant be bough at LEGO Direct. I guess i will have to use bricklink since i cant find flesh colored hands anywhere else.
  23. I am going to start making some custom minifigs and i have some decals ready. I need to get the LEGO torso, legs, head and hair. Where do you buy this? Most of the time bricklink is not very good if you want +10 of a special hair piece or i have to get it in a lot of different stores.
  24. I would use regular 5mm 3V LEDs. Any electronic store should have them and they are cheap. Before going to you store to buy LED's power supply and resistance be sure to do some math on how big the resistance is and how high the voltage is. REMEMBER to use aparallel circuit or the voltage needs to be extremely high. Which will blow off the LED's and not work at all XD Check out Ohms Law if you need info on the subject =)
  25. I tried using old 9V LEGO LEDs but they are too expensive on bricklink. I don't have a solution at the moment but i think i will buy some LEDs and solder them together with some small resistance and them use a 3V power source. It should be fairly cheap. The biggest problem can be the many wires.
