I realise that... and I also realise that 99% of distributor/wholesale sites are scams. TLG in most cases don't have middle men. Possibly both, but I more meant fake LEGO.

Could you explain what it can do? Can it steer? Looking at it I'm guessing the micro motor is used as a function select. I may have to build this...

There's an easy test. If it's on the official site then it's real, otherwise it's fake, old or illegally sold... (If it's an old Star Wars set that's a "nice deal" then chances are it's fake...)

Ahh! At last! All this reading was getting tiresome; I need some action. *Looks around* Err... probably not.

The alt model is pretty good actually and the motor set comes with the battery box as well as a few other good parts. I think this is because the 4L axel is (was?) more expensive than the 5 due to it being an older part. I agree. There are big spaces inside that would fit a gear box nicely...

My best advice is to check out NeoClassicSpace. Most MOCs there are styled to resemble Classic Space. Some like the concept, some don't, so give it a look!

Because the box shot shows (in one place I recall) him with legs. Thus TLG received complaints galore and ended up sending out "replacements" even though it was not the intention. It would seem that the latter copies had them added.

I didn't win either. Last year I selected them 95% randomly (non-avatared members never got first place), and I assume that CopMike did something similar. I doubt it's personal.... but sorry?

It's OK. Those pics are great! A new rail-road vehicle at last! Shame I was wrong about the El-train. These sets should be a good way for me to get the new batteries. I wonder how they will be sold; that is they will need to be renationalised to a degree due to the power adaptor. It's been a while since TLG did that. I think it'll be using the flex track for the straight part.
