LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MysteriousSir replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I just don't think it's a license that would really be considered for a Disney CMF line. Yes, it's popular and beloved and the character designs would translate well. But there's still tons of iconic Disney characters from films that were time-honored worldwide phenomenons that haven't been made yet. I don't see them dipping into any 2010s television series. -

Ignoring all the Japanese figures and everything, since I don't know the rules on that, the fact that Overwatch's Funko Pop figures aren't bobbleheads should mean it's fine. Star Wars and Marvel Pops have to be bobbleheads because of Hasbro exclusive licensing. I doubt the series will be Overwatch, but I don't think exclusivity should be a roadblock for it. -
Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Relevance is only part of the motivation for making a figure, though. Aesthetic value matters as well. Rita has a distinct color scheme and look that would translate well to a memorable minifigure, and while of course that doesn't cinch a spot for her, it does help with the odds. Also, CMF provides the avenue for them to push out figures that won't appear in actual sets, and since she wouldn't really be a must-include for any set, I do think LEGO would see CMF as a likely path for her. -
Is there any way this movie is actually going to have a good plot after that trailer? Obviously it isn't going to reveal much of it, it was just a teaser. But the Force Awakens trailer was simply intriguing. This was painfully, painfully generic. The forced, cheesy line about rebellion needed to be not in the script at all, and the fact that it made it into the trailer is beyond ridiculous. Rey was a strong female character, but this just looks like a duller clone of Katniss. Surely with all the interesting stuff in the Star Wars universe they could have given us a more original protagonist and a better story than this appears to be.

1. Scrooge McDuck, my number 1 priority. 2. Goofy (I think this is a guaranteed) 3. Edna Mode-- another personal love, not likely but still possible since we've seen some Incredibles. 4. Frozone, Elastigirl, or Dash-- really more likely than Edna but I'd rather her 5. Mulan-- my favorite princess and relatively likely 6. Carl Frederickson (I'd also like to see Ellie but I don't think it likely) 7. Russell 8. Winnie the Pooh-- iconic, easy to do, pretty likely 9. Tigger-- they already made the tail piece for the regular minifigure series 10. Hiro 11. Sorceror's Apprentice Mickey, gotta steal that one from your list 12. Mary Poppins-- I don't see this as very likely but more possible than my addendum stuff at the end of this post 13. Cruella De Vil 14. Mad Hatter 15. Any Inside Out emotion. 16. Belle 17. Lilo 18. Oswald (not very likely but possible) Ones I think likely but aren't super high priority for me-- Jack Skellington (they merch him a lot) Moana, for movie tie-in Woody, similar design to the one from a few years back Pinocchio Mowgli, considering there's a remake coming. Probably original cartoon design though Jasmine Snow White or Evil Queen Merida Queen of Hearts Ones I'd love but I don't see happening KUZCO, KRONK, YZMA Ellie Long John Silver from Treasure Planet Chef Skinner Captain Hook with an actually drawn nose, since this one looks really nothing like one of my favorite characters Judge Claude Frollo Gaston Cory Baxter

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
MysteriousSir replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd really like to add a Venator-class Star Destroyer to my collection, but I'm not a huge fan of the official model and all the MOC versions I've seen have been either midi or huge. Has anyone ever seen or made a version that's closer to the piece count of the actual set? I'd like to bricklink one around that size, and I may just end up designing it myself. Of course, odds are I'll just get the original version if a cheap one pops up on eBay due to the higher cost of bricklinking, but if there was a good design around that size I might have to get the money. -

REVIEW: 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series – Batcave
MysteriousSir replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Licensed
My main disappointment in this set is how much the price is brought up by the lack of design focus, even though it was obviously intentional. I really want a batcave, not a fan of the prior one and not willing to pay the markup for the original, so I was hoping for this one to be a good one for around 100. I would have much preferred them do a 100 dollar 66 Batcave with a more singular design and a say 120 dollar Wayne Manor one that connected together. -

I can't tell if these means amazingbricks has info that there will be sets in 2017 (which would make my life) and is telling us to look forward to then, or if he's just looking forward in vague hopes also. -
On the topic of chamber of secrets, I like the LEGO basilisk way more than the movie one, honestly. It's much more like I pictured it reading the book, and actually has significant fangs, which is sort of an important thing the movie one was lacking.

Fantastic Beasts 2018 - Speculation & Future Set Discussion
MysteriousSir replied to Ookami's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm not complaining about the most recent Hogwarts, I loved it, and I already acknowledged the hollowness of the original. I currently own them all and they're all set up together, I can compare them quite easily. My point is simply that one thing I think a UCS Hogwarts could do would be to return to a greater height but with a larger level of detail. I know people have different wishes, but I would personally like it so that a UCS one still wouldn't be dwarfed in height by my others. -

That's what was originally said and what seems to still be prevailing, but at some point after that they directly contradicted it and said it wouldn't be a trilogy. I think (and hope) it still probably will be, but it's not really confirmed right now. -

Piece count wise, I know it is. But even *not* placed on top of other sets, the older castles are still taller. If you are to stack the first, which already stretches the highest, you create an even greater discrepancy, making a display particularly difficult. There is no height comparison on the sets alone. Obviously this is due to piece density and detail in many ways-- the original is quite hollow-- but my initial point that the new one is the shortest can't really be contested. -

When displayed with any of the older Hogwarts though, the 2010 one feels exceedingly short. I'd like to see a taller one again.
