I actually bought the union pacific diesel just to see how good it was. Mine came in its original unopened package and the instruction book was similar to Lego too.I paid 14.00 for it and 8.00 for shipping,to be honest,mine built very well and does not look all that bad(aside from color varies from Lego colors).Now,I do not plan on buying any of their other styles,and this one is the one I let my kids play with,but if Lego can't figure a better way to supply and pack their track(I would rather have curves than flex-track)I am considering supplementing my layout with the Enlighten track packs(if I find it at a decent price).

I was a huge Lego fan as a kid,but like a lot of others I fell into dark ages. During that time I had built a very large "N scale" model railroad layout(as I have always been a train fan). And as time went on,I got married,had kids and had to get rid of the layout in pieces at swap meets,to make room. Then 8 years later,I buy my son a bulk brick bucket for christmas,and get hooked again from the little flyer sheets Lego puts in there. I was stunned by the build techniques and styling of the latest trains,and further astounded by design creativity of MOC'ers after searching on the web. Anyway,I am now a full blown addict,spending as much as I can spare as often as I can to increase my collection.

Seems to be a good year for trains,I am very excited about the release of this set,track maint. equipment is always useful. As it looks like a small set,hopefully it will include some trackside structures.And I am loving the retro cargo engine look!

I like the idea of 8 per pack,but I think they should replace the curve track that comes with the switches, with the flexi-track, instead of trying to package and sell flexi-track on its own,and the buyer wouldn't get buried in track pieces they don't need or want.
