  1. Hi there! I am new to this forum and to the Lego Technic world. Came out of the dark age last year thanks to my two boys. :D This year right before Christmas I bought myself a 8868 set by accident - sort of... Did a search on the local adds, trying to find a few presents when I stumbled across a badly pictured offering. Text said "A few Lego technic vehicles - 50 Euro". On the pic there was a large Lego City Crane and something blurry in the background. I called the guy and he offered to come by my house and bring the stuff over. I was very pleasantly surprised, then he opened his trunk and I saw this: Oh yea! So I bought a few sorting boxes, took everything apart, washed all the parts, sorted them into the boxes and made a few very nice presents for myself :D During the holidays I rebuilt the 8868 truck and as soon as my kids started playing we had the idea to RC-modify it. And a few hours later this is the result: The details: The left motor drives the back wheels, the right one drives the fake motor and the pneumatic pump. It can be activated by a switch that you can see on the last pic. I also had to replace the old differential parts and gears by their modern version. The old ones were slipping and rattling under the torque of that L-motor. On this pic is the steering servo and the pump. The pump is propelled by the rotating crankshaft. As the original rubber belt did not have enough friction to turn the fake motor and the pump, I had to use a chain instead. This is the cockpit with only one seat left. And there is the switch to turn on the pump and motor. One small issue is left tho.. The motor axle that is leading from the small PF motor to the fake motor chain loosens itself very frequently. Especially when the pump is under heavy load. That steering traverse bends downwards and that small gear starts rattling. No idea what to do about that. Adding a second support in front of that small gear did not help much. (all that can be seen on the fourth pic)
