DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
doriansdad replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
This was from 2019. Back then they did not know the line would sell as well as it has. The camo Bane version would appeal to both 76023 owners as well as new collectors and they have this design already ready to go. Makes a nice contrast to the all black vehicles. Makes business sense to me, but that is just my opinion. -

Saw this on opening day. I loved the movie as well. If you are a time travel / sci-fi enthusiast then check out "Primer" and "Predestination" as well.

This set is now labeled as "retired" at all shop at home sites other than North America. Does anyone know if this set will be back at the end of this year? Normally they just list it as "sold out" if they are bringing it back. As far as I know there has never been an item that has been labelled as "retired" and then come back. It is curious as this set has had a very short run. Thanks for any input anyone can give :)

Near the beginning of the year you stated the Post Office would be re-released with the new Market on October 1st. Can you confirm if the Post Office will be back this year?

Well a CSR is not allowed to "guarantee" anything. They are still available to order. I am guessing they initially took more than 20k orders but most of those were duplicate reseller orders that were flagged and cancelled. Still plenty of stock left on S@H. I am guessing it will truly go to sold out sometime in September and at that point you will not be able to add it your bag on S@H.
-
Nope we still haven't reached 20k orders. Once status changes to "call for product availability" then 20k orders have been placed worldwide. As they then go through those remaining orders and make cancellations it will reappear in stock a few times. Once it is done status will move to "sold out" in red. Until status changes to "call for product availability" anyone placing their order will receive this set if they are not over the limit and their payment clears.
-
The set is still available to buy at S@H at RRP. If people cannot wait 3 weeks and want to pay a premium on auction sites to have it shipped now I don't see a problem with that.
-
All 20k have not been sold. You can still purchase it at S@H but you will be waiting for 2-3 weeks for the next batch to be produced. Maybe 10k have been sold so far? Once they hit 20k they will no longer take orders on S@H.
-
Hmm lets see about 300 technic fans, 2000 resellers...I'd say about half have been sold so far.
-
My orders from this morning all just moved from backordered to in process. I don't think it is correct to tell folks they cannot order online when they still have plenty of stock to go around.
-
You received incorrect information. The protocol is to move to "call for product availability" when the limits are reached. No doubt your support lady was talking about the first batch. You can still order and receive one of 20k but you will be waiting for the second/third batch. If your freebie moves to in process you will receive your entire order.
-
Number 3 is wrong. They have still not sold the 20k yet. Their servers we hammered initially but fully functioning the next day so they know exactly how many have been ordered. When we move to "call for product availability" is when we are getting close to being sold out of the total 20k. You can order right now and still receive the set in 3 weeks. Number 4 I would take with a grain of salt. Manually checking every order? Does not sound believable to me. More like automatically scanning for duplicate orders placed with the same credit card and then manually cancelling those above the limits.

Played thru a few levels with my son last night. Nothing groundbreaking, seems like yet another rehashed Lego title. The original Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman were very good titles, even with their glitches. Maybe I am juts too jaded by the repetitive formula. Hopefully LOTR is much better. The voice acting is just ok but the cutscenes were so much more entertaining without voices in past titles. I would rent it rather than buy it. 5 out of 10.

This set looks amazing. Already trying to make the cast from the TV show Fact or Faked in minifig form to setup a night investigation scene once this set hits the shelves. Does anyone have another link to the original video by any chance?

Was at my local Lego store today and the manager said there would be 5 more DC sets coming soon! Could not give me any more info. Fingers crossed.

When looking at Aussie pricing you must consider the very high cost to market and distribute in Australia. Minimum wage in Australia is $15.51 per hour compared to $6.55 in the USA. Also the gas price in Australia per gallon is $6.55 vs $4.19 for the USA. The simple fact is EVERYTHING in Australia is very expensive compared to the USA, however wages are obviously much higher to compensate. In the end I would say the REAL cost is roughly even and completely fair.

GE due to go Dec 2013. FB Dec 2012. From Lego customer service. -
I would keep trying in the weeks ahead. This piece is still being produced I would presume since it is in the current Pet Shop set and that is not due for retirement until Dec 2013.

Yep call Lego direct @ 1-800-835-4386 and ask for part# 4623597. This is the Dark Red Slope 75 2 x 1 x 3 with Hollow Stud. If you are going to order parts from them make sure you have your whole list ready to go and order in one shot to save on shipping which is very reasonable. Parts take 10-15 days to arrive from Europe.
-
The dark red slopes are readily available from Lego direct thanks to the reintroduction of them from the Pet Shop. When I built it 18 months ago they also had the light bluish grey door instock so check for that as well. As for the white panels you are on your own there as well. You also have to make sure the 5 black door frames you get are Type 1 and not Type 2. Also the torso for the women with the blue jacket needs to have the large stitching and not the new torso with small stitching available right now from Lego direct. Personally I would go for a NIB set unless you have plenty of free time to burn.

Thanks for the news! These look great IMO. I have these 5 modulars and will definitely be scooping up this set as well.

I pieced together Cafe Corner a few months ago. Cost me $380 USD total for all new correct parts. There are 3 difficult parts to get for this set. The dark red roof slope is not one of them...Lego will gladly you sell as many as you need if you call customer service, same goes with the 5 high door. Here are the difficult parts: 1) 1x8x2 Dark Blue Arch - out of production so Lego doesn't sell them. 2) 1x2x3 white panels for the windows - you need 20 of these. Lego modified this part a few years ago so no longer sells the correct part. The panel they do sell is indented on the sides so the window opening appears very small and ruins the entire aesthetic of the model. Very hard to get in quantity and prices reflect this. 3) Medium blue torso - again Lego modified this part a few years back. The original torso has big stitching while the new part has many tiny stitches. If you want to use correct parts you are looking at $600 USD nowdays, so you may as well buy a new sealed set for $700 and save yourself many hours of work. My advice if you are determined to piece this kit together is to buy as many of the parts off Bricklink as possible as Lego direct prices are much more expensive than the big volume dealers. Then order the missing parts from Lego. The above 3 parts you will have to accept are going to cost alot. Make sure you clarify in advance the white panels are the correct older ones and the medium blue torso has the larger stitching. I also pieced together Market Street for $300...again there are a few very hard pieces to get that really drive up the price.
