  1. Absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I'm wondering if I will ever be able of even think to start to build something so amazing! My congratulations for your job. Of course I encourage you to espand even more and see other beautiful pics! PS: I loved the chairs in the bar!
  2. B-OV-28D Hello! Easter is coming and it's now time to book an holyday! I suggest to use my new Lego airport for your holyday if you want to visit my Legoland city full of historical buildings (like the egyptian tomb or the cathedral that you may see in the pictures). Talking seriously, I've finished to adjust the small airport of my city and I'm eventually happy with the result even if I would like to expand it and create a proper aiport hub (with terminals, fuel facilities, a proper runway). At the moment is integreated in my small city which is still very work in progress!
  3. I have an IF (the new one) and a QAR
  4. Byebye money! I'm gonna buy the Helm's deep but I also want the army (although I would like some more Rohimmir) and possibly gandalf arrives. I do really hope that in a second wave they will do some collector sets (as they do for star wars) of Minas Thirit (4000 pieces? :P)
  5. It's impressive! I'm wondering how many IFs have been used, I guess 3 :)
  6. Martello tower is also a good idea but I think something like the whitecap bay can really fit: it looks quite similar to the fortifications used in that age here in the mediterranean villages:
  7. Sure I'll take some pics asap!
  8. Thanks for the replies . Regarding the minifigures, I do agree that the medieval soldiers don't look very good, but now they are there to fill a bit the environment. In the future I was planning to buy some small boats to populate the layout, some fishermen and a few soldiers. I don't know if it worth to add a lighthouse. I thing a good Idea may be create a small hill made (of course) of stones and put the lighthouse there, if I bay the whitecap bay set I also get two boats and two sirenes that are figures of the Greek mythology living somewhere in the sees of south Italy.
  9. [pid][/pid]199A Hi! I've started a year ago to build this layout, trying to recreate the typical Mediterranean atmosphere of the pirate age. I come from Sicily and there, during the 17/18th century, small villages had been built to enhance fishing activities, mainly to support bigger town usually built on the top of the hills. Medieval castles where used mainly as observation points. The defense where minimal and often pirates could take everything easily from the village. Talking about Lego now, the island is composed by two MOCs: a fortress and a small port, the medieval market village and the London escape: The basement have been made using sea stone. I know this can sound very wrong for some AFOLs, but currently I don't have enough money to buy so many small pieces to create a similar effect (which I like) . The two ships are the Imperial Flagship and the Queen Anne's Revenge: Some other pics here: Other pics I'm curious to listen your comments and suggestions to expand the layout. :pir-sweet:
  10. I have bought the Imperial Flagship and at Xmas I've received also the QAR. I really think that the QAR can be a good rival for the IF. It has 4 cannons positions on each side (even if the ship itself comes with only 3 cannons and it is faster and versatile thanks to the back sail. I'll post some pics of my new pirates layout in a few days hoping that it will help in judging.
  11. Thank you very much! Now it's clear, I'll try this solution when my 9v motors will die. cheers, Davide
  12. This idea is great! I was wondering if you need always two motors or one is enough, sorry maybe it is a silly question but I'm not very good in electronic! Cheers!
  13. I'm definitely ruined Can't wait for the Helm's deep set
  14. I definitely love your BP! It's an amazing ship! I'm into Pirates sets since very short time and I own you just two ships, but I wish I can build my own very soon!
  15. I've seen the here at the Lego shop in Hamburg. I have to say that it looks much better than in the pictures and it has nice details. My personal feeling is that it is too small to represent the ship of the movie, it really looks more like a toy. So I bought the Queen Anne's revenge, 'cause I need a rival for the Imperial Flagship :-) I'll post some pics of my Pirate layout when it will be finished.
  16. I have only the Imperial Flagship! But I'm planning to buy the Queen Anne's Revenge
  17. I think this time LEGO deserves it. All the sets are really expensive for the amount of bricks included (compare with Harry Potter's for example). Queen Anne's revenge is the nicest in my opinion whereas all the other non-ship sets have a good design but are very essential. I Like White Cap Bay but it should have included at least a baseplate with some rocks and some water, so that the lighthouse would have been at an upper level with respect to the sea.
  18. Hi, I've bought this set, and built yesterday, it took me about 5 or 6 hours. I have a lot of sets but I think this is really one of the best and most detailed ever. Defenitely it worth to buy it!
  19. Absolutely amazing MOC! I like everything! It's very realistic! The garden is realistic and wonderful!
  20. It's a very good review I have this set!! It is not built in my city but I have transformed it into a medieval castle: My castle I played a lot with that set and I probably got it for my 8th birthday. I remember my mum kept it hide but I discovered it few days before my birthday.
  21. It's the historical part of the city. In Italy, almost every small city has is castle! Expecially in Tuscany and Marche. So that is just an attempt to reproduce it. The part near the station: bow, church, castle and egyptian sarcophagus is supposed to be the historical part of the city :-)
  22. Thank you for your comments! What do you mean that colors of train station don't match? I personally like the white and gray combinations of colour! I have a lot of hairs to cover my minifigs but I really don't like them sometimes. There are a lot of hairless men around! Metroliner will be probably destroyed to make a designed-by-me train :)
  23. Thank you very much! I'd like to add another table of the same size with a beach, docks and some ships. In that table I wanna create also a small hill with a road going up and temple ruins on the top. With a new table I will espand the airport making a real runway, some taxyway and real gates for aircrafts. I also have to redisign the bell tower of the church in a different way.
  24. Amazing city! I love it! Expecially the Police Station! But in some pictures I've seen a policeman playing a card game on his PC... :-P Great work, I hope you will expand it!
  25. Thank you very much for all your comments! Since my Lego city is in Sicily but I'm actually in England, I can work on it only in summer and on Xmas for few days. This is a first attempt to build a city! So I will expand it for sure but first I wanna buy bricks to complete buildings like stations, and church. I also don't like the blue building (that is meant to be a bank). @Brickviller: your city is really amazing! I will comment soon and take some ispirations :D
