  1. A bit of a pipe dream for Bionicle but it would be great to have mask packs. Again, probably not going to happen anytime soon.
  2. This one: http://40.media.tumb...13izo5_1280.jpg "Inspired by a prophecy, the Protectors use the Mask of Time to summon help."
  3. Lots of good lore additions, such as the details of each particular region, the time gap between the Legend and the Arrival ("thousands of years") along with the confirmation of the Mask of Time. It definitely seems to me that that mask is the MOUP, considering its on a pedestal of energy, six cracks of elemental energy pouring into it, surrounded by broken chains, (not to mention you can clearly see this mask's nostril on the other poster as well.)
  4. Still I think you're dramatizing it, just a bit. Even in the new story, it'd be almost impossible to detach G2 from G1. Just a search for Bionicle you'll see G1 things like Teridax, the Ignika, or Mata-Nui. I'd be impossible for Lego to forget the old story. In fact, the main problem I have with your argument is this: If Lego decides to connect the 2 Generations (which I find doubtful), there is no reason why Lego can't say that the mask was made in a different dimension, or something to that effect. If they don't need to explain why the 6 golden masks are scattered across Okoto, then there is no need to explain why there is a Mask of Time. I'd imagine they'd say something to the effect of: "the mythical Mask of Time, forged from the land of the Toa". This is the main reason I don't think the two Generations are necessarily linked. I just don't think it should be dismissed from story significance, as you suggested in your original post, LN-01354.
  5. 1) I don't feel that would necessarily be the case. If the reveal was that they were from a different world, doesn't mean that they'll necessarily be the G1 Toa. They could just be from an alternate timeline, or simply further back or forward the current one. 2) Again, I don't think that if it was the G1 Toa, that they would have to make them, or any other character, in the old building system, or at all. If Lego did decide to link up G1 and G2, it could be as simple as the Toa learning that they're from a different world, and leave using the mask. At most, showing a portal with stock imagery or video. 3) Even if it is a red herring, it seems overly elaborate, especially considering that this generation of Bionicle is meant to be more simplistic, storywise: I mean, the same mask appearing 4 times in a row is just an easteregg? Not likely. I just think there are too many parallels to draw to simply dismiss it. The mask, that coincidentally is the Mask of Time, the power intrinsically linked to their "most sacred place", the Temple of Time. Summoning them by "evoking the power of past and future", bringing the six "timeless" heroes, and with the narrator stating, "who they really were remained a mystery". If this was true, it would all line up nicely with what was reported at NYCC.
  6. To be honest I prefer the textless version; It looks cleaner without it. Maybe the Eurobricks logo could be tweaked in some way, but other than that, I think it's top-notch!
  7. The description for the Protector of Earth seems to mention its drill is made of adamantine. Guess adamantine is now part of the confirmed new materials along with gold.
  8. Lego.com/Bionicle works, though it is strange Bionicle.com just doesn't redirect to the actual page.
  9. Personally, I think Bara Magna was a good idea, but I didn't like its execution. Bara Magna didn't get as much world development as the MU. The history of Bara Magna is limited to only a few major events, and the same for both it's location and fauna. I feel like Bara Magna had lots of potential, but we never got to see that potential, but I don't see that as a reason to hate it. The fact that Reign of Shadows was instead focused on the MU as opposed to Bara Magna also served as a sort of reminder to those who disliked 2009 of the universe we just left that we had so much attachment to. I would have liked it if we had a few years of story separate from the MU, to sort of build its history before having Mata Nui arrive, then having the quest for the Prototype robot, then the final final battle. Possibly having the MU serials weaved in after Mata Nui's reintroduction.
  10. I must say, the mask does looks very, Polynesian, in terms of influence. It fits with 2001's tribal Maori-influenced theme, though it doesn't resemble the other Kanohi of that era of Bionicle. That and the fact it is on a pedestal on the front of the display is very curious indeed.
  11. Some people (TTV included) pointed out that under Lewa's name it says 'Master of', followed by something below. I think I can see an 'E' at the end, but it also looks like the word 'Wind' now that you point it out. It might just be that 'E' is just some package design blurred, but I'm not sure. I think it is wind though, because of the Jungle Defender.
  12. Well, not that early. I find it interesting how all the masks have been redesigned. I wonder how much they will bear resemblance to the originals when the finalized pictures come out.
  13. I wonder if VBBN will get early review sets, like with Hero Factory's Invasion from Below and Chima's Fire and Ice line. I don't see any reason why not. Like the Infected Kanohi, Krana, Zamor spheres, Shadow Leeches, and Brain Slugs? Lego sure seems fond of that theme in constraction.
  14. I think we're just getting the 2.0 hands again, I can see the little gap they have in the Tahu picture.
  15. Tahu seems to use the 2.0 chest piece for leg armor, so that might be the case. With this news and the soda I just drank, I'm literally shaking with excitement!
  16. Does Onua have... purple on him?! It might be just a trick of the light, but it seems odd that the 'Earth Defender' would have purple and he wouldn't. Tahu also seems to have a new piece for his flame board, in addition to two swords. Kopaka seems to use the flame board piece for his spear/staff weapon.
  17. From what I can tell, the green and brown defenders use the Pyrox fire piece, the blue defender looks to have yellow rotor hubs, and all the defenders, except the purple and black one have the small beast feet in silver (or in the blue defender's case, black). The purple and black one looks to have to two clawed foot piece. And the white one obviously has a saw. EDIT: The fire defender also seems to have the Pyrox fire piece.
  18. Hype! Hype! Hype! The name 'Lord of Skull Spiders' seems to make sense now. Also, on the high res image that TTV linked, names like Tahu, Lewa, and the first part of Pohatu are clearly visible.
  19. Voltix in my opinion had a very organized and layered color scheme. Back to the topic of Bionicle, I think that was part of the charm of the 2001-2003 era. It gave hints and foreshadowing towards the immediate story, revealing things that you don't notice until after the reveal, and can appreciate afterwards. The world building was also something that I found absent later in Bionicle's lifespan, settings seemed to just appear without any hinting and disappear as soon as they did.
  20. Fire Starstreaker Fire Starstreaker is a Mk-II Jaeger built in the year 2016. It uses two dual-wielded energy pistols with dual electrical exhibitor attachments for close-quarter combat. It is stationed at the Los Angeles Shatterdome. It is piloted by Rawst and Rory Oran, two twin brothers. Skewerclaw Skewerclaw is a Category 3 Kaiju. Smaller than Knifehead and Yamarashi, it is lightly armorered everywhere except for its thickly armored neck and forearm armor, which it uses to absorb attacks. It has 4 powerful claws ending sharp Jaeger stabbing spikes, similar to the one on Knifehead. It can also launch large amounts of Kaiju blue from it's mouth to terrorize populated areas. It has 4 powerful weapons, but is severely limited by its weak armor.
  21. The Ring bug has been fixed. You can't attach studs to either side now,
