  1. I'll take the greenhouse. (and goblins if not already claimed).
  2. Both. I want it to look like Hogwarts from the movies (the great hall on the cliff with the big tower behind it) but I also want to base it off the movies (the entrance hall is going to be much bigger than in the films, like the books.
  3. I've done a lot more building, and a writeup in the photo descriptions. http://www.flickr.com/photos/50809886@N02/
  4. Nah, only joking, thanks for posting anyway, but it's a bit buried in here, so if you do want to show it to the world, it's probably best in it's own thread.
  5. Thanks for posting, but it would be better in it's own thread rather than hijacking mine
  6. I've done a (very!) small amount of building and added some photos and a write up to my flickr. Comments welcome.
  7. That's a very good guide, and a new technique for me, but I was really looking fir information about doing a tower with 1x1 round bricks and 1x4 bricks. I'm actually building Hogwarts.
  8. Hi, Sorry if this is discussed elsewhere, but I tried the search and couldn't find anything. I have some questions about building round towers. I know that you can build a round tower by making a wall of 1x bricks and round 1x1 bricks and bending it, but now do you go about fixing it down at the bottom, and adding an interior? What about the roof too? Thanks for any help
  9. I really like this shop Sorry for going OT and OTT here, but you've touched a bit of a nerve there. Why should it shock kids? If kids don't know that mean comes from animals, and people don't want them to know, it is a sad world we live in. I know many children thought bacon comes from sheep, and some think that meat is made in a factory. If they don't know that pork comes from a pig, then they deserve to be shocked. I like the fact that things like this are so crude, and I wish we could go back to basics in the world, to an age when everyone kept their own animals and killed them themselves.(I'm a vegetarian) Sorry again for going way off topic.
  10. While I'm waiting on parts to complete the entrance hall and start the great hall, I'm investigating round tower building techniques for the main tower. I know that you can build a round tower by making a wall of 1x bricks and round 1x1 bricks and bending it, but now do you go about fixing it down at the bottom, and adding an interior? What about the roof too?
  11. Now that is nice! I was a bit lost where to begin, but I've decided today just to give it a go (if I can find any parts in my non existent filing system!) I'm going to try the entrance hall, having seen a version in the community build, mine is going to be bigger and better I hope! Then after buying some more bricks I might start on the great hall.
  12. Well, it's been a while, and I'm afraid I haven't made much progress in that time, except printing loads of maps and documents about the layout of Hogwarts, and spending a small fortune on Hogwarts bricks! I'm hoping to actually start building soon! I'm a bit lost where to begin really though, I really wanted to base it on the books, but I think that to be recogniseable as Hogwarts, I need to incorporate elements of the films (all these courtyards everywhere, the covered bridge, the gorge etc. I'm just after guidance as to whether anyone else has done a Hogwarts since last April, and whether there is anyone out there with a bunch of Hogwarts bricks they can give me for a half decent price? I'll upload my (rubbish, looks like it's been done by a 5 year old) sketch of the layout of the castle buildings, but I'm still very undecided about what goes where inside.
  13. OK, They're complete, but have been broken up into chunks, not down to individual pieces, but into supposedly easy to assemble lots, but to be honest I think you'll want to take it apart and start again. The boxes leave a lot to be desired, although the front is OK, TLG's tape on the burrow has been peeled off, and the press tabs on Hagrid's Hut have been pressed, and both have been taped up again along the edge. Is anyone interested?
  14. Does anyone have any lots of the above? Or spare HP sets too, incomplete is welcome. Thanks!
  15. I'd have to go for 4757, because of the daft prices for Trelawney!

  19. Just posting here in case anyone is interested, got several LEGO items for sale right now... http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/matthewbutler2012/m.html?item=160856063212&viewitem=&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562
  20. Good luck with that mate! I've sold lots of sets for £25 each, and still made a loss of over £100 because of the BrickLink prices of some of the figures I needed to complete the sets. Why the hell would someone sell at a loss to you when they can easily get £5 a figure, and you're willing to pay less than £2?
  21. Just thought I'd post in case this is of interest to anyone on here, I've listed some individual and lots of 5 or 10 polybags on ebay, starting at only 99p! Special offer for EB members, if you win more than one auction, get the cheaper one half price, just send me a message after winning that you came via this post, and I'll invoice you the cheaper amount. Link to my auctions. Thanks!
  22. It wasn't won, I relisted, finishes in 20 minutes - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MASSIVE-AMOUNT-OF-LEGO-IDEAL-FOR-RESELLER-/160825057171?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item2571eb9f93
  23. Uploaded some more: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/matthewbutler2012/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3692 Due to the lower prices, I'll give a 10% discount this time, just send me your username in an eBay message after you've won.
  24. I would be very interested in HP sets, if you need any of those figs.
