  1. I was one who built that cathedral Thank you so much for all the very kind comments, it really means quite a bit to me
  2. There's no native minifigure in the Temple set. There's 4 figs in there: Joc in the plane, Belloq on the outside, Indy himself and Sapito, who was Indy's sidekick in the beginning and who betrayed him. Oh wait, I just looked and the pictures on the first page. There is indeed a native in there. I saw other pics and there was no native in there.
  3. Well, I've tried Indiana Jones LEGO creations in the past:
  4. Zam Wessel. Well, she does have a female appearence from time to time.
  5. The minifigure doesn
  6. The Bane minifigure actually looks very much like the comics version (Knightfall). As for the scarecrow, the plane has fear gas tanks on the side and drops bombs, very WW1 style, with pumpkins with a smile shaped like the bat logo. And BTW, Batman
  7. Lego has always played on archetypes and rightly so, and this is specially evident in the Castle and Pirates sets. And although they may not be the most historically correct, they connect imediately with everyone from around the world, because most of the world's myths are cut out of the same cloth. So it's nice to have clear definitions of vilains and heroes. Not to state the obvious, but I have little doubt the Pirate line would be selling like hot cakes in 2006, with the release of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. This sort of theme never wears out: they are so entrenched in our popular culture. Castle MOC's still are of the most popular thematics in building. Lego has to take a romantic aproach to history, it favors everyone. The day we start loosing all those wonderful archetypes about some historic periods will be a very sad one indeed. That being said, I have little doubt that a Roman set could be very sucessful.
  8. Actually, I think the relation between the words Gothic and Gotham is not as obvious as it may seem. As far as I know, Gotham is a sort of nickname for New York, and that's where the name Gotham City came from.
  9. Great. I love the detail that there are 3 extra cells, and 3 extra stickers, so you can indentify those cells as holders of The Joker, Two-Face and the Penguin. It's just a neat detail.
  10. The pub is very nice, very much like a real set lego would produce. It kinda looks like a Pirate version of the guarded inn.
  11. 1733 - Shipwrecked Pirate 6236 - King Kahuka 6245 - Habor Sentry 6248 - Volcano Island 6251 - Pirate Minifigures 6252 - Sea Mates 6256 - Island Catamaran 6257 - Castaway's Raft 6260 - Shipwreck Island 6262 - King Kahuka's Throne 6265 - Sabre Island 6266 - Cannon Cove 6267 - Lagoon Lock-Up 6271 - Imperial Flagship 6273 - Rock Island Refuge 6274 - Caribbean Clipper 6276 - El Dorado Fortress 6277 - Imperial Trading Post 6278 - Enchanted Island 6279 - Skull Island 6285 - Black Seas Barracuda 6286 - Skull's Eye Schooner 6289 - Red Beard Runner
  12. And now Tortuga belongs to Venezuela. And I talked about "ignoring the Dutch", I was mainly talking about Lego sets, not MOC's.
  13. Here is a larger photo of my avatar. I'm a lousy photographer, but it depicts Guybrush Threepwood form the Monkey Island game series (any other fans around here) standing at the entrance of the Mele
  14. Since this is a Pirate Forum, weren't a lot of the Caribbean colonies Dutch? Like Maracabaibo, Cura
  15. For the Saloon Doors, you could use the window shutters, if you put the bricks with the holding clips facing each other.
  16. UCS Executor and Milennium Falcon.
  17. I don't know about you guys, but the Vuture looks great, and the dynamics of how it transforms should be pretty interesting. From the Expanded Universe, I would love to see Virago.
  18. I don't know about you guys, but this set looks fantastic to me. And it has much more features than previous Forestman sets and the figs are better too. Honeslty, I don't see anything wrong with this set, it's actually one of my favorite castle sets.
  19. Crime Alley would make a great set. Anyway, Lego has produced all the main villains and veichles, so I suspect the next step might be something in the vein of villain's lairs.
  20. Actually, Joker's real name was never mentioned in the Killing Joke or anywhere in the comics for that matter. The animated series also calls The Joker Jack Napier, which is an homage to Alan Napier, the actor that played Alfred in the 60's TV series.
