  1. Hey, wow! Those minifigure axes really do work brilliantly as small color accents. Thats some really great usage there!
  2. I like the new blaster piece, that adds some much needed character to those sphere-shooters. Other than that, I'm absolutely in love with Toxic Reapa, and Rocka. Rocka's helmet screams original Ironman to me, and I'm diggin' that quite a bit. His blaster arm ain't too shabby either The other heroes don't wow me, though I do enjoy Evo. The villains really seem to steal the show here.
  3. Hey thanks! Yeah, I switch the limbs around to afford a bit more articulation. Its not a piece swap you can notice much with the armor layered on. So I think its worth it for the added articulation.
  4. My little re-make of Evo 2.0. I guess they're really just some mods
  5. ...I thought this connection had been picked up on already. Wow.
  6. Ah, throw the words elder and predator to me at the same time and I just equate it to the Elder Predator. The bohrok shield on the back of his head only made me think it was a Predator riff even more. Now I understand that he is in fact just a predatory hunter of sorts. Still a cool creation nonetheless!
  7. They're cool creations, for sure! I'm just not seeing a predator..
  8. Look on the bright side. Squeaky joints = tight joints
  9. Got the suggestion to open another thread with this in it. Figured I might as well put the other updates I've done as well. First up is Bulk 3.0, with updated skeleton, and new back armor that doubles as a jetpack, and also has space for weapon storage! Now onto Raw-Jaw. With an actual lower jaw, and completely revised backside. No more gaps! Thats all for now. I have some 2.0 upgrades, but I'll try to keep this up to date with the current product offerings. If my pictures are too large, feel free to yell at me. I'm not exactly good at anything picture related. And I'm running a Mac, so no MS paint for me!
  10. The jetpack and back armor are one in the same. Its actually two different armor pieces. The smaller size that came with Bulk. Both attached to his back. The upper most can hinge up on the balljoint. Making the jetpack!
  11. Happy Birthday! You should definitely get Raw-Jaw. You will not be disappointed!
  12. I didn't have any idea where to post this. So pardon the double post. Was messing around with Hero Factory pieces, trying to see if I could make a basic frame that did not use the central Hero torso piece. It was met with some mild success. Hopefully one of you here will be able to riff of it. I don't think I have the pieces to flesh out anything over the frame. But I thought it was neat-o, nonetheless.
  13. This was mostly just an exercise in seeing what I could do with various pieces from the new 3.0 stuff. Bulked up the same build from above. Made him significantly taller, and found a cool connection for some massive shoulder armor. Didn't bother cleaning up the back, this is nothing I plan on keeping together. Just some quick experiments
  14. Snagged myself a Bulk. After some quick mods. Here is what I came up with! The rear armor also opens to be a small jetpack But wait! Can also store his blades in that jetpack Here is the modified skeleton I use for pretty much all my heroes
  15. For anyone that was interested. (Like there was anyone interested. Haha) This is the modified torso skeleton I used for my Raw Jaw And an exploded shot of the head Nothing complex at all! But really helps the set shine, I think.
  16. My problem with gauging sets, which I'm sure effects how I take to reviews, is that I have trouble critiquing the actual set. Instead of any modified versions I might make. Raw-Jaw, straight out of the box, I could see as being inferior to Waspix. Because you really don't need to do much, if anything at all, to make Waspix a really cool set. Raw-Jaw definitely required some fixes to help save the gap-tacular back end. The only Villain in this wave I absolutely hate is Scorpio, nothing looks right about that set. Especially the legs. I think I might pick a couple up to try to bring some symmetry to the legs, though.
  17. All the villains are meh out of the box. Especially Scorpio. Waspix and Fangz are pretty lame as well. I'd go with Raw-Jaw, with some really simple modifications, he becomes a really cool set. And he's not just a flood of bone pieces like Waspix, or some odd looking spear face.. What a waste of money those two were. Just read a review for Waspix on BZP. Makes me a little less shameful for buying it. But damn, who was the reviewer? It was a tedious, painful read.
  18. Isn't A-Tree Nannan? The dude who can rock the Black Fantasy like no other? He always does top notch work. This is no exception. To the above post, Dluder did not build this.
  19. Sorry about the double post! Had some spare parts kicking around, so I tossed together a quick hero build. No name as of now
  20. Diggin' the revised blaster much more! Great job!
  21. Figured I'd would just add this here. Picked up a couple Raw Jaw's to see if I could improve anything. Think I did relatively well. Cleaned up the colorscheme by replacing the silver backplate with a gunmetal one. Closed up most of the gaps in the back, and added a functional lower jaw. The revised head did result in some lost mobility, thats as far down as he can look now. Thankfully he looks better in a hunched position anyway!
  22. New around here, and have been out of the Lego game for quite some time, Technic and Bionicle even longer. But I managed to snag a few of these new 2.0 sets, because they looked interesting enough, and the new building style piqued my interest. Anywho, did a few mods to cover the awful back view on these heroes. Was a really simple fix, and improves the look of them drastically. Take a look! Stormer 2.0 Mods Back View And a front view. And just to stay on topic, those 3.0 sets look pretty rockin'. Granted my vision isn't what it used to be, so I still cannot see much from the provided pictures. Ah well, patience is a virtue.
