I've found a few sketches of collectable minifigs and pirates on Michael Patton's page at Coroflot Many other LEGO set and graphics designer's portfolios can be googled here The next sketches are not set designs, but more like inspirational artworks for theme designers. On Mike Rayhawk's page you can find inspirational artwork which were used when developing Knights Kingdom theme and LEGO Universe

Awesome MOC, it is really full of interesting details. Really cool roof design and color, nice tree and epic ninja kick. Quite a tricky pose for minifig but you nailed it. And congrats on wining

Do you need animal faces adopted for minifig head like this bat face http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/8833-7.jpg? Am I right?

If you are using Inkscape, check this walkthrough. Or check . Also I've recently started a channel with some tips and tricks, but mostly aimed at Illustrator users.Or elaborate more about your problem, so we can provide some help.

Hi. Here is logo resized to fit torso. I made gray background so it is more easy to find edge and cut out the logo, which you can then stick to stormtrooper minifig. If you want to make a big flat cut-board stormtrooper, then you'll need a good photo of trooper on single color background, unfortunately I don't have any troopers in my collection. Try asking in Star Wars forum for a good hi res shot of trooper. Scalable logo in SVG for printing on big cutboard figure etc can be downloaded here

[Software] LDD2PovRay
NickAb replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
There is a Decorations tab in LDD to POV-Ray where you can change standard applied decorations to your own. I've done it in my Mountie MOC http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73322 On the decorations tab you need to click on checkbox to make options editable. -

Check . It might be helpful in automatizing the stubble dots creation of different size. Just use a beard shape with black & white gradient instead of chicken image, sometimes it produces excess dots, but they can be easily deleted. Also it is sometimes unstable, some experiments needed, maybe temporary increase size, adjust gradient few times, etc.I've added a video tutorial on basics of creating face stubble using Inkscape http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D71CVOOH-3c. My pronunciation is no good. So I also added subtitles, but youtube got some bug, so subtitles are not available at the moment.

Bloody enough?

Do you need exactly the city sweatshirt or any other will work? I've done a hoodie sometime ago, I can easily recolor it and add blood splats.

Help! Find minifig parts to match this!
NickAb replied to Bobsy's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Besides bricklink you can use brickset minifig browser to find any torso, they've got hi-quality images. If you can't find anything matching, you can always request a decal. -
I believe the easiest way for you will be to use a black head piece (if you have one) and print only the face part either on white sticker paper or white water slide decal paper, the white base will allow to make white and other light toned details. So basically you will be applying only a face and the black head it self will be a balaclava.

The Unofficial LEGO Collectors Guide RAFFLE
NickAb replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is hard to choose. It definitely will be some dream set from my childhood. There were lots of good sets, especially technic ones, back early 90s when I was introduced to LEGO. But if I had to chose one it will be 6991 Monorail Transport Base. Monorail. Space. Best things combined together. -
Updateed: both designs are ready

Pretty good idea, it will bring more eyes to our project, and maybe eventually more contributors. But how the voting will be done? Will it be done by community? Update: I found a small bug. Sometimes inkscape adds unnecessary attributes to SVG files (e.g. inkscape:connector-curvature="0") which prevents files from being rendered in browsers, but SVGs still can be opened and edited in Illustrator and Inkscape. So should we bother to delete such attributes before posting to repo or leave them as is?

Help with a new car
NickAb replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Why not make something small like caterham: Less space, more challenge. -
Here is ant-man. It is based on my previous design with different additions, so now it looks more like your sketch. Updated Marvel to be darker color scheme (used Earth Blue color). Old version can be found here Hope it is not too dark. TLG does not have any mid dark tone between dark blue and bright blue. So before printing on sticker paper use regular paper to check brightness. Here is Captain Marvel (I don't know how to make a face look more like Yvonne without doing something like SW Clone Wars faces, which I personally don't love) PS: I'll add both designs in editable vector format to Minifig Decal repository later. Update Wasp's torso design was already done by Emperor Krulos. I've done my variation in slightly different style
-
Oops. My bad, didn't noticed the belt going beyond the body shape. Fixed, see original post. Faces based on ones found in Emperor Krulos' Catwoman designs.
-
Here it is I've made a belt with different width at left and right to . But if you want a single width belt, I can redo it.

Yes, I want to record voice commentary, because using subtitles might increase video time and it is very long already (as reading subtitles and watching video instructions require more time than watching and listening). Also I would like to practice my English. But I was thinking of adding subtitles later. Your Inkscape walkthrough is pretty cool, I hope it will bring more and more customisers to use Inkscape. Also its a good idea to make same tutorial both for Inkscape and Illustrator , we should think about it later. I believe making a video version can bring more exposure to our project. We can add a few files to the library where all kinds of belts and other similar accessories will be gathered together, so that the users don't have to scout all files.
