Has someone noticed that both the new town hall and the town hall designed by Jamie Berard in 2007 have two croissants in the tympanum? Certainly no coincidence, I think.

eBay user sells instructions for other builder's MOCs
alois replied to Badsneaker's topic in LEGO Town
According to Brickshelf, Mark Chan was the builder. -
It looks great and is instantly recognisable as a Porsche. The only thing is that I think the spoiler is a little bit too large. The Porsche would look great even without it.

You can only publish them, if Jamie Berard allows you so. It is still his intellectual property. -

I found this advertisement on a dutch auction site. Maybe it's the same miran0620 (seems to be a dutchman too) or maybe just another person. But he is a lot cheaper, selling them all for € 15,- ($20). -
Isn't the orange cheeseslope the oldest cheeseslope of them all? (from set 10133 from 2004)

All the buses I knew in my childhood were yellow and white - so I don't mind this colour scheme at all. I'm impressed with this bus, and was even more impressed when I realised the whole lower part is built in snot. A nice addition to any Lego town.

This house is close to perfection! I love the overal exterior look, the way you've managed to make an almost completely white building not look dull by putting in lots of details like the fences, but the interior is also stunning. It was a good choice to make the walls two studs thick, and to give each room its own colour. Excellent moc.

Technically speaking, this is not an inside corner building, since the two invisible sidewalls are still on the same spot as where they are in the café corner. You cannot build a square with four of Jasper Joppes police headquarters. With a real inverse corner modular building, this would be possible.
-
You do not need one and a half time the amount of bricks of a 32-wide building to make a 48-wide building, since the side walls stay the same. So I assume 2766 bricks is more than enough for a 48 wide building.

A nice, smooth building. I think I like the back even more, with the addition of the plants in a contrasting colour and the backporch.

No, it is either the tram driver waiting for his next shift or maybe the driver of the wedded couple's car.

Thanks! You made a fantastic Irish pub from the original. Especially the interior seems larger than the outside, with so many different features in it.

Wow! I really like your church facade. You seem to have understood the gothic style very well. The portal in particular is very gothic. Maybe some day there will be a complete church?

The pay phone is very well built, but it seems a little bit out of scale... The minifig could hide inside it. But I know it's no use to try and keep the scale of town in proportion. Lego is the first at fault by creating a telephone handset that is half the length of a minifig, i.e. nearly a metre long in real life!

Nice to see a moc of a really modern building her. And a very good rendition too.
-
I not only pictured it, but also built it. Long before I saw this photograph, so I was amazed seeing the similarities.

The first moc I made after my dark ages was a mayor's mansion. Although I liked the result, after a year I wanted something bigger, so in the spirit of the upcoming modular building I rebuilt it into a town hall. As you can see I added a double entrance, which I also borrowed from an older moc. The town hall is situated on a little town square with a park and a fountain. A bride and bridegroom are just leaving the town hall, their friends and family standing by: In front of the square is a street with a tram. The street isn't finished yet; my plan is to create a pavement with integrated tram rails. More images on my Flickr-account. Let me know what you think of it.

I wonder what the original building of Aliencat was like. Is there a photograph of it?
-
When I first saw your photographs my initial reaction was: 'what is the point of this? He owns set no. 10185, well so do I.' And then I started to appreciate the scale of this thing, and I must say, I'm heavily impressed now. The brick count must be 8 times that of the real green grocer, if the backside is built.

Yellow can be a very noisy, even childish colour, but every once in a while I see a mocular MOC that uses yellow in a realistic way. Yours is really such a MOC, I like the way yellow is used here very much.

Very nice modular house, Alex54! I like the colour scheme and the duplication of the floors works really well too. The only thing I miss is a little bit more of a sloped roof.
-
I like the green very much. Without it, it would be just a lot of tan, but the green gives it just the right amount of contrast.
-
It's a nice building full of lively details. But you're going to face a problem when coupling another modular building onto it - i.e. the edge of the roof protruding one stud. Unless the other building is really low...

Time for a corner building!
