  1. Beautiful! I particularly love the way you've played with height across the layout so it doesn't appear to be flat, an aspect I am particularly interested in exploring when I finally get around to putting together my own layout.
  2. Received the early access email to purchase 10232 Palace Cinema from the Lego site for $199.99, a nice drop from the usual $250. anybody know if this is going to be the standard price or are we actually getting a good deal? Obviously the cost of shipping makes this ordinary if its priced at $200 once it hits DJ's and you wait for a 30% off sale..
  3. Mill Village Raid 7168 for only $57.60 @ BIG W, online only. Beerluminati posted on the Whirlpool lego forum that the same set is available in store at Kmart for $49
  4. Big W has 7498 Police Station for $80 online today. Link
  5. I too am very interested to see how this progresses. One question though, why did you chose to locate your turntable so far from the switching yard? I would've though it better to locate it closer to the entrance to the yard to enable easy access to your rolling stock.
  6. You could check Brickset for the amazon.fr posts to see what's coming through a special. I use Google reader to capture the Brickset feeds and just review anything they've posted before looking at the Amazon site. They have the same feeds for US, UK & Germany as well.
  7. After successfully ordering from amazon US I've now tried my hand at amazon.fr ordering Mill Village Raid and Winter Village Toy shop for $130 delivered.
  8. Order took 10 days to arrive. It was packed inside another slightly larger box with some scrunched paper to stop it moving around. The whole thing arrived in perfect condition (both the outer box and the lego box inside) other than a small knock on the corner of the Diagon Alley box that looks like it is shelf wear and didn't occur in transit. Overall I am very happy with the way its arrived.
  9. I ordered 1 x Diagon Alley on the 10th and it shipped the same day. Total [price shipped including my credit card conversion fees etc made it ~$185. The pet store and the holiday line are the ones I am really chasing so hopefully they allow those shortly. Totally forgot about the Black Friday sales. Better start saving.
  10. Beautiful layout. Here in Australia it is difficult to justify the cost of bricks for a brick built road but your solution to the boring sidewalks is very inspiring.
  11. Use of the word demand in my post doesn't denote in the slightest how the conversation would play out so please refrain from calling other posters "ignorant".
  12. Still showing as $58 on thew page this morning. If you are in a store that has stock I'd load it up on an iphone or similar and demand it at that price.
  13. Over an hour and it still hasn't appeared in my orders list on the site. Doesn't look hopeful. I Guess I should have processed my order faster instead of continuing my stroll through the site looking for other markdowns.
  14. Certainly did, 2 of them. but let's hope they ship..
  15. Kings Castle 7946 currently $58 at BigW online + $4 shipping.
  16. 7) Pilot Entry (Build by Dan Church) - 1 point 15) Gorilla Suit Guy Entry (Build by TazManiac) - 1 point 22) Fisherman Entry (Build by turambar) - 1 point
  17. Enough has probably been said on the topic of overseas purchasing, however, the one thing that gets me the most isn't the gap in RRP, its the level of discounting that's also available. I weep whenever I see a buy 2 get 3rd one free deal with no restrictions that you cant access without knowing someone who lives in the US. As a modular/train collector the price gap becomes ludicrous as you can get 3 modular houses for the price of 1 fire brigade in AU! Even being gouged with shipping makes those economics impossible to beat locally, even with a 20-30% off sale.
  18. I already had most of them so I just bought second copies. If they had jesters though I would've bought every single one!
  19. Kmart @ Bondi Junction has impulse sets for $1. They had upwards of 50 sets on the shelf in a combination of: 5612 - City - Police Office 7567 - City - Traveler 8398 - City - BBQ Stand 8397 - Pirate survival 8072 - Atlantis - Sea Jet 8073 - Atlantis - Manta Warrior 8399 - Space Police - K-9 Bot 8400 - Space Police - Space Speeder The store had no new 2011 sets. Target @ Bondi had the new police sets and ninjago, but all at RRP.
  20. Was just at DJ's Bondi Junction where they had 6 Grand Emporium's left. They also have one cargo train @$139 if anyone is looking, it was hidden behind a bunch of Airports.
  21. Drat, where did you find out about this? It wasn't reported on any site I read which consolidates AU sales!
