I will be happy to dispel that notion...it is NOT an April Fool's joke...and I will leave you with this thought...when LEGO decides to stop producing something...there is only one reason: money.

6383 Public Works Instructions
Eric J. Olson replied to Vestabuyer's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I think I saw one on eBay last week...was the complete set though and looked to be in good condition. -
Looks nice, but you better get the fire trucks ready...your takeoff looks like he suffered a tail strike. :D

We offer stand-alone decal sheets of everything we produce for $2.00 each. We've thought about doing custom runs as well, but frankly, that's up to our sign shop that does the decal work for us. I have a feeling that someday, it will be a reality where you can upload a decal sheet and we'll print/ship it right to you.
-
You're quicker than me. Yes, 100% LEGO and the decals that we use are created by us and printed on die-cut vinyl which means no scissors, peel and stick (restickable), and no reside from the glue on the parts.

For those of you who have already seen our new site and signed up, thank you. We appreciate your business and support. For those of you who have heard of us, but haven't seen our new site, we invite you to check it out: http://www.me-models.com.'>http://www.me-models.com. We have a lot of new stuff available and lots of new stuff in the works! For those of you who have never heard of us, ME Models was started back in 2003 and has grown into "the standard" when it comes to custom kit design. We focus our efforts on the Town and Train series emulating the look and feel of the mid-80s construction sets. Our sets come boxed complete with all new parts (a few exceptions with some VERY OLD parts) and instructions. Remember: Build with ME. http://www.me-models.com

Lpub help needed
Eric J. Olson replied to Whittleberry's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I saw similar issues, but it appeared to only affect certain files and usually only a single page or two. Not sure what's causing it or why...but if you go back to an older version and just export the pictures, it works fine. -
It's better form to put multiple "mini models" of the main model into an MPD (multi-part) file versus including LDR files into another. Part of the issue is that renderes don't like it if the files aren't included in main parts list, so, if you reference several LDRs into another and they're all in separate files, you will A) Create a mess in your directory that makes it hard to navigate and B) You may have to frequently update your parts list to include all of the "extra" files that you made so the renderer knows where to find them.

Well, this is the shortened version...only the left engine starts up...my full one they both do, but it's a bandwidth killer. :D http://www.me-models.com/SF34.wmv

Things that changed Lego forever
Eric J. Olson replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The one thing I have noticed in the history of LEGO is the defined "borders" that were crossed and where you can see them from in the product lineup (not including the addition/deletion of themes) such as the transition to more detailed vehicles as seen in the early 80s, more detailed (and playable) buildings in the mid 80s, and the final transformation to "juniorization" in the late 90s. -
Event was good all. Smaller venue, but layed out very well and an excellent job of planning. Public turnout wasn't overwhelming, but for a first-year show, it was as expected.

Christmas 1986 from my Grandparents: -
The only thing I didn't like about the planes was the scale. Last I checked, a DC-9 was A LOT bigger than a car. :D

It's great when you're in your 30's and your parents still get you LEGO. :) My received: 10216: Winter Village Bakery 10199: Winter Toy Shop
